The Marine Corps is developing the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) and Marine Personnel Carrier (MPC) to replace the outdated Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) and enhance operational capabilities. The ACV is set to enter service between FY2020 and FY2022, with plans to acquire 573 units, while the MPC program was temporarily paused due to budget constraints but has recently been revived to potentially acquire 200 vehicles. Both vehicles are integral to maintaining amphibious assault capabilities in current military strategies amid evolving threats and operational requirements.
