2. They must complete tasks which include creating a PowerPoint presentation with pictures covering the research topics, designing a tourist leaflet dividing suggested activities into days, and giving an oral presentation about their chosen location in class.
3. They will submit their PowerPoint, a printed leaflet, and a report reflecting on their process, websites visited, and personal evaluation by certain deadlines for evaluation and to receive points. Students may work in pairs or groups

Slides for the 2017 ITBE Conference Presentation: "The Art of the ESL Conversation". Naperville, Illinois, Saturday, February 25th. Speakers: Helen Stewart (Schaumburg Township District Library) and Julie Frost (District 211 Adult Education). The Illinois TESOL-BE is a professional, nonprofit organization which supports research and instruction in the teaching of standard English to speakers of other language or dialect and in bilingual education.
1st term
1. Students will spend 6 imaginary days visiting a European Capital of Culture where they will research information about the location such as its year as Capital of Culture, official language, religion, attractions, accommodations, population, cuisine, legends, facts, and famous people.
2. They must complete tasks which include creating a PowerPoint presentation with pictures covering the research topics, designing a tourist leaflet dividing suggested activities into days, and giving an oral presentation about their chosen location in class.
3. They will submit their PowerPoint, a printed leaflet, and a report reflecting on their process, websites visited, and personal evaluation by certain deadlines for evaluation and to receive points. Students may work in pairs or groups

My favourite painter
Isaac Levitan was a Russian landscape painter born in 1860 who came from a Jewish family in Lithuania. Levitan focused on landscapes that conveyed a mood or feeling, without urban scenes, showing the spirituality of nature. Some of his most famous works include Autumn Day. Sokolniki. from 1879 and Evening. The Golden Plyos from 1889. He became a member of the Imperial Academy of Arts and taught landscape painting before dying in 1900 at the age of 40.
