HOW DOES YOUR GROUP USE OR CHALLENGE CONVENTIONS AND HOW DOES IT REPRESENT
SOCIAL GROUPS OR ISSUES?
Our product uses conventions from typical horror films. Our product
also challenges typical horror film conventions. Our product uses
creepy suspenseful music playing at the end, this music create
suspense in the audience. Suspenseful music is very common in most
horror films. Our products also uses foreshadowing when the female
character crosses off the males picture, foreshadowing she's going to
kill him. Our product challenges typical horror movie conventions
because our "murderer" was the girl in the relationship rather than the
guy. Our product represents a social issue that males are always being
portrayed as the bad guy in the relationship. Our product shows the girl
was the bad one or the "abuser" in the relationship which is very
uncommon in film and uncommonly thought of in society.
HOW DOES YOUR PRODUCT ENGAGE WITH AUDIENCES AND HOW WOULD IT BE DISTRIBUTED
AS A REAL MEDIA TEXT?
Our product engages with teen audiences by being a typical teenager
relationship with a twist. This will appeal to teens since they are normal
people of their age. Also the fact of the crazy girlfriend twist rather
being the boyfriend may attract many people to watch the movie. Our
product will be distributed on a website like Netflix as a real media text
since that is a very popular site for many young adults.
HOW DID YOUR PRODUCTION SKILLS DEVELOP THROUGHOUT THIS PROJECT?
Before starting this project I have never filmed anything or had to edit a film
or anything like that. Even though I know I am not the expert film maker
my production skills developed greatly. I know now how to film and
which scenes to keep. I also know the basics of editing. I went from
editing being very foreign to being much more comfortable with what I
am doing.
HOW DID YOU INTEGRATE TECHNOLOGIES-SOFTWARE HARDWARE AND ONLINE- IN THIS
PROJECT?
Our group integrated hardware and software while creating this product.
We used hardware to actually film the product, this included the camera
and tripod that was provided to us. The software was what we used to
edit which was adobe premier pro which created our final product. We
also used the internet to post our blogs of the whole process.
