Chattanooga is "Scenic City", reinforced by the city's reputation for outdoor
activities. Unofficial nicknames include “River City” and “Gig City”.
Location: Chattanooga is a city located in Hamilton County, Tennessee, along
the Tennessee River, bordering Georgia.
Area: It is the fourth-largest city in Tennessee. The city has a total area of
374.4 km2, of which 355.2 km2 are land and 19.2 km2, or 5.12%, are water. The
most prominent natural features in and around Chattanooga are the Tennessee
River and the surrounding mountains.

Chattanooga is a medium size Industrial city.
In 1969, the EPA declared Chattanooga to be the dirtiest city in the
United States after identifying high levels of ozone, particulates and
other toxic substances in the local air.
