We’ll look at real world website examples, both positive and negative, from NCCADV and agencies throughout the country. 3. Write a brief critical evaluation report on each of the four sites you have visited. (Please include hyperlink connections to the four sites.)
4. Your evaluation must have a title page listing the topic, your name and the name of the instructor, the course title and section number, and the date.
5. Your paper must be in Word format ( doc. or docx.) or a Rich Text Format (.rtf) format (if using a different word processing program). The total report should be type-written, double-spaced, and 600 - 800 words in length. Papers are expected to demonstrate quality collegiate writing.

Check the author's credentials and affiliation. Is the author an expert in the field?
Does the resource have a reputable organization or expert behind it?
Are the sources of information stated? Can you verify the information?
Can the author be contacted for clarification?
Check for organizational or author biases.
Scope:
Is the material at this site useful, unique, accurate or is it derivative, repetitious, or doubtful?
Is the information available in other formats?
Is the purpose of the resource clearly stated? Does it fulfill its purpose?
What items are included in the resource? What subject area, time period, formats or types of material .

- 2. Primary Criteria • Overall Excellence • Content Richness • Breadth • User-friendliness • Reliability • Wholesomeness • Freshness • Security
- 4. The site should be simply the best available in its category or be the one of the best informational resource in selected subject area.
- 6. abundant, rich, high-quality content The most important three words in website evaluation are “content, content, content”!

- 8. The site should cover a subject area and provide extra links concerning the content.
- 10. The site should be intuitive and easy to us. If the navigation is not so easy, it is preferred to offer a user a little training.
- 11. 5. Reliability
- 12. The site reliability and availability are important. It should not crash a user’s browser.
- 13. 6. Wholesomeness
- 14. No harm, no uncomfortable feeling The site should not include pornographic websites, websites devoted to the lurid details of infamous crimes, or websites that might reasonably be considered “the dark side of the Net”.

- 16. The site needs frequently updating, renewing.

- 18. The site should have no significant security risks to the user. If it is a commercial site, it has to provide security of all the restrict transactions. If it is a site from which the user can download things, ensure that these things are safe for the user’s system.
