Criminal Behavior Critical Reasoning.docx
1. Criminal Behavior & Critical Reasoning
Critical thinking plays a key component in criminal behavior and there exists a higher
prevalence of egocentric thinking among criminals. This paper will focus on flaws in critical
thinking that result in criminal behaviors. Correlations exist between criminal behavior and
unreflective thinking patterns that show decreased critical thinking and increased
unreflective thought patterns as contributors to criminal behavior. In contrast to the lack of
critical thinking involved in crime, the correlation between criminal behavior and
egocentrism also demonstrates lower level critical reasoning. It is my intention to explore
and showcase the correlations of these behaviors and thinking patterns as well as extreme
cases considered psychopathy. This will leave open a discussion for focusing on these facets
for implementing correction and rehabilitation efforts to move individuals away from
unreflective thinking and egocentrism as contributors to individual criminal behavior. Now,
write a paper that addresses this issue using scholarly sources. The paper should include the
