1. Pre – Writing Stage it is where the writer
prepares everything which he is
going to generate ideas and formulates the
foundations of the topic for written output. The
brainstormed ideas will be framed through
outlining which will serve as the backbone or
blueprint indicating how the written output will
look like.
2. During Writing Stage is when the writer put
together all the brainstormed ideas, thus
focusing on the content rather than the
structure. Since it is only temporary, the writer
would now organize all the details perceived to
be relevant to the topic and theme and develop
them.
3. Post – Writing Stage this is the phase when
inconsistencies that you have written in the draft
is being carefully checked and corrected in
terms of its content and mechanics.
Revision and Proofreading are two aspects to be
considered in this stage.
REVISION- indicates the modifications about the
content of the work to observe unity of thought as
well as the logical transition and flow of between and
among the parts.
PROOFREADING- involves the rectification of
problems in the use of punctuation, capitalization,
spelling, paragraphing and grammatical
inconsistencies.
1. It is planned. Writing is not done in an
instant.
2. It is permanent. They remain and last across
time. Writers are immortalized because of their
written works.
3. It is purposive. Writing serves for various
purposes like to inform, to instruct, to convince,
to entertain etc.
4.It is highly organized and systematic. Effective
writing follows a pattern and also requires
organization and structure.
5.It is process oriented. Writing follows a certain
stages and undergoes developmental series before
obtaining its product.
6.It is perennially rule governed. Observes
orthography, capitalization, punctuation, sentence
structure, paragraphing, unity, coherence etc.
