Creative Narrative Essay
Crafting a Creative Narrative Essay can be a daunting task, requiring a delicate balance between
imagination and structure. The challenge lies in not just narrating a story but doing so in a way
that captivates the reader's attention and resonates with them on a deeper level. One must
seamlessly blend creativity with coherence, making sure the narrative unfolds organically while
maintaining a clear and compelling storyline.
The difficulty intensifies when attempting to infuse unique elements that set the essay apart from
conventional narratives. Striking that perfect chord between originality and relatability demands
a keen understanding of storytelling techniques, character development, and thematic
exploration. Building a vivid world that draws readers in requires a meticulous choice of words,
vivid descriptions, and a keen sense of pacing.
Moreover, the challenge extends to navigating the fine line between personal expression and
broader audience appeal. While the essay is a canvas for personal creativity, it must also resonate
with a diverse readership. Achieving this balance necessitates careful consideration of the target
audience and an understanding of how to weave universal themes into the narrative.
As the writer delves into the realms of creativity, there is a constant need for self-reflection and
refinement. The process involves not only drafting and revising but also embracing a willingness
to take risks and explore unconventional narrative structures. This dynamic interplay between
spontaneity and structure adds an extra layer of complexity to the writing process.
In conclusion, tackling a Creative Narrative Essay requires navigating the intricate landscape of
storytelling, creativity, and reader engagement. It demands a fusion of artistic expression and
disciplined craftsmanship. Though challenging, the process can be immensely rewarding,
offering a platform to showcase the writer's unique voice and perspective.
For those seeking assistance in this endeavor, or any other writing project, various resources are
available. Similar essays and more can be explored and ordered on platforms like

Analysis Of The Book David s Absalom
David (Goliath; Jonathan; Bathsheba; Absalom) David was the youngest out of 8
brothers and the one God chose to be the next king of Israelites after King Saul, the
current ruler. The Israelites did not get along with the Philistines and in the
Philistines, there was a giant named Goliath who challenged the people of Israelite to
fight him so they there would stop being conflict. No one wanted to fight this scary
giant but Davidvolunteered. He grabbed a sling shot and 5 stones and as Goliath
was teasing him for being so little, he shot Goliath between the eyes and Goliath
fell, defeating the giant. Then, David met Jonathan, and as soon as they finished
talking, their souls were entwined. Since Jonathan loved him, he gave David his
sword, bow, and belt and as a result whenever David was sent out on the missions
that Saul put him in, he was very successful. However, in the spring time when all
the kings go off to war, David remained behind in Jerusalem where he spotted a
beautiful young woman named Bathsheba, who unfortunately was married to Uriah
the Hittite. David tricked Uriah into staying at the kingdom where he got him drunk
and placed Uriah in the line of fire, killing him. David told Bathsheba where she
mourned her husband but then she slept with David and bore him a son. While all of
that was happening, Absalom was up early and greeting the townspeople, receiving
their trust and loyalty. Whenever there were sounds of trumpets, the townspeople
would say that Absalom
Fourth Of July Family Vacation
Every year my family and I would decide on the country to visit for our Fourth of
July family vacation. It has been a tradition of ours for a while now. Our goal is to
visit all of the countries in the world and learn about the many different cultures for
ourselves. We are all humans at the end of the day and we are all similar in more
ways than we realize. The reason is that we just don t want to remain complacent in a
comfortable bubble, due to the fear of the unknown or false information. Therefore,
our next destination would be to Africa, particularly South Africa. After reading
various blogs from the study abroadstudents at Temple University, two of the blog
posts had captured my interests because both of their locations were in Africa.... Show

Social Psychology Theories About Attitude Development
And...
This analytical paper is created in hopes of generating a deeper understanding of
attitudes and social psychology and their importance to the social world for all
individuals. This should be accomplished through evaluating and addressing how
attitudes develop through the social learning theory and behaviorism; how attitudes
change by implementing persuasion, cognitive dissonance, and emotion.
Additionally, analyzing what approaches and programs are effective and ineffective
in a couple of case studies such as source credibility and mere exposure; and then
further analyzing persuasion and attitude change by viewing two persuasive articles
and applying and analyzing the approaches on fear appeals, source credibility, and
attractiveness by responding to the following questions:
What are the prominent social psychology theories about attitude development and
attitude change? Considering the research findings, what types of approaches or
programs are effective in either creating new attitudes or changing existing attitudes?
And, for whom do these programs work? (Provide two real world examples of
approaches, one with evidence that it is effective and the other with evidence of
ineffectiveness.) Find and present 2 examples (print, video, TV reports, fictional
portrayals, etc.) that you find highly persuasive and explain how and why they are
effective.

Cross Cultural Comparison Regarding Technological...
This executive summary outlines research conducted and contained in the report
titled Cross Cultural Comparison Regarding Technological Unemployment: The
United States and Europe in Struggle . Research conducted found that increases in
automation have significantly decreased employment options for those people who
lack sufficient means to complete higher educationrequirements. This may be in part
due to the sharp increases in the cost of post secondary education. This has led to a
sharp decline in the middle classworldwide and a polarization of the lower class and
the upper class.
Manufacturing jobs were once a way of attaining gainful employment for those
without a college degree, from which people could gain experience and were jobs
which held an ability for promotion. Due in part to automation, these jobs and
therefore this sector of the workforce is in a rapid and steady decline, endangering
the middle class in America. This fact is highlighted in a report published by The
Heritage Foundation, in which is reported that employment in the manufacturing
sector for workers with a high school diploma in the United States has fallen 38.6%
since 1992 (Sherk, 2010). This equates to 4.6 million job opportunities lost by middle
class Americans. One example of technologies that have contributed to this decline is
computer numerical control (CNC) and computer aided machining (CAM). In the
past, there may have been perhaps 25 machinist s working on 25 traditional lathes

Pros And Cons Of Economic Hitmen
Ultimately, due to the large debts, the U.S. is able to draw on these countries for
political, economic and military favours whenever desired. And of course, the U.S.
corporations involved with the expensive projects become extremely wealthy.
Economic hit men [EHM] do not actually work for a United States government
organization such as the Central Intelligence Agency. The risk with such a direct
association is obvious. For example, if an EHM was working to put a country in debt
to the U.S. with the main reason being for favourable military and political positions
against the Soviet Union, the Soviet Union would be quite likely to take military
action against the U.S. if that EHM were found to be working for the U.S.
government. In the 1960s, America found a way to use economic hitmen without
directly implicating Washington.
It was during the 1960s that we saw the empowerment of international corporations
and multinational organizations such as the World Bank. This allowed for
governments, corporations and multinational organizations to form mutually
beneficial relationships. United States intelligence agencies were able to use these
relationships to their advantage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These economic hitmen would never be paid by the government; instead, they would
draw their salaries from the private sector. As a result, their dirty work, if exposed,
would be chalked up to corporate greed rather than to government policy. In addition,
the corporations that hired them, although paid by government agencies and their
multinational banking counterparts (with taxpayer money), would be insulated from
congressional oversight and public scrutiny, shielded by a growing body of legal
initiatives, including trademark, international trade, and Freedom of Information

Hummingbirds Research Paper
Information About Hummingbirds. Yes, it is the annual battle of the hummingbirds
here in north Texas. Late August through September brings swarms of migrating
hummingbirds to the feeders, each hummingbird claiming a feeder of its own for
few days before moving on down south. This time of year, my yard becomes a war
zone between hummingbirds as well as against yellow jackets and bees!
Hummingbirds are very territorial and will jealously guard their feeder from all
other hummers who want a sip of the sweet nectar. Although my many feeders are
spread quite a bit apart so more hummingbirds can feed in peace, there appears to be
a Ruby throated female that is determined to defend three feeders. As she squeaks and
zips over to a feeder that another hummingbird dared to approach, other
hummingbirds converge on the feeder she just left, sneaking some nectar while
she is away. She will viciously fly straight for the intruder, sometimes even flying
right into them, chasing him away. She ll perch on top of pole from which the
feeder hangs, looking around as if to say, See? I got him and I ll get you if you try
anything stupid like trying to get some of my nectar. From dawn to dusk, she ll bully
the other hummers. Clearly, this lil lady is a hummer with an attitude! ... Show more

1.Introduction
Small and medium sized scale enterprise ( SMEs ) occupies the crucial position
among the worldwide economic activities, particularly in developing country, whose
flourish has already became a sign of the rapid development of economy. However,
more than half SMEs face the severe challenges of surviving. Among all the possible
threats during business activities, inadequate access to capital is the most important
factor to determine the enterprise s destiny (CCH, Australia, 2013). Even worse,
SMEs are under the tremendous stress of the financial and economic crises which
lead to the depressed consumer market, contractive loan of financial institutions.

Mezzanine Finance
Mezzanine finance is often being seen as a combination of both debt finance and
equity finance, whose risk level is between debt financing and venture investment.
When mezzanine finance providers lend money to the company who has financing
need, they will also seek to share in growth by building an element of equity
investment into the deal (Williams, 2013). The advantage of mezzanine finance is
obvious: friendly cash flow. This is attractive to borrowers when they are frustrated

Essay on The Woman Warrior, by Maxine Hong Kingston
The theme of voiceless woman throughout the book the woman warrior is of great
importance. Maxine Kingston narrates several stories in which gives clear examples
on how woman in her family are diminished and silenced by Chinese culture. The
author not only provides a voice for herself but also for other women in her family
and in her community that did not had the opportunity to speak out and tell their
stories.
The author starts the book with the story of her aunt. This story was a well kept
family secret being that her aunt s actions were of great disappointment to the family.
The no name woman as the story names her, was forgotten by all her family because
she had a child that was not from her husband. This story gives a clear ... Show more

After so many years of being subjected by other people, she finally took her life into
her own hands and made an attempt to be happy.
According to the book, this woman gave birth to a baby which was a symbol of
embarrassment and humiliation not only for the villagers but for all the family.
Even though this baby did not have any notion of what was going on, she was still
a victim of Chinese norms. This baby also became forgotten being that she was not
given the opportunity to be alive. Kingston s aunt decision of killing the baby, had
to do greatly with the fact that she was girl. As the book states it was probably a
girl; there is some hope for forgiveness for boys . Without any doubt, if the baby
was given the opportunity to live she would have been mistreated and condemned all
her life. She would not have had the opportunity to developed her own identity or
raise her own voice .
Additionally, another example that implies that Kingston aunt had no voice is when
the author states, The work of preservation demands that the feelings playing about
in one s guts not to be turned into action. Just watch their passing like cherry
blossoms (Kingston 8). This sentence can be interpreted that a women s feelings
and wishes were not allowed to be turned into reality or to be expressed. On the
contrary, their feelings and wishes were only allowed to be kept to their selves as if
Cardiovascular Disease
Diseases of the cardiovascular and lymphatic system can present itself in many
ways. Often these diseases circulate through the body creating a vehicle for
pathogens to spread. We will look at four different diseases that affect the
cardiovascular and lymphatic system. Plague is an infectious disease; it had a deadly
effect on human history. The plague was known as Black Deathin the middle ages.
The causative agents of the plague are Yersinia pestis Gram negative bacteria. This
bacterium is usually spread through contact with the vectors or in this case the
oriental rat flea, which usually have direct contact humans. The oriental rat fleas feed
on the reservoirs such as Rodents, rats, mice and squirrels that harbors to infectious

The causative agent is Filoviridae ebolavirus. There is no known reservoir for the
virus, although scientists believe that fruit bats may be a possible reservoir because
they harbor the disease without showing any signs or symptoms. Once infected with
the virus the symptoms, usually do not appear for two to twenty one days, which
resembles the flu and often mistaken or misdiagnosed as the flu. However, as the
disease progress, bleeding from the inside is noticeable through stool, coughing up
blood, bleeding from the eyes and ears. Unfortunately, there is no treatment for this
deadly infection and usually involves treating the symptoms as they appear. Nursing
interventions are a major part in treating the patient and possible survival from this
disease. Priority nursing interventions include, watching for any changes in the
patient s respiration rate and pattern, monitor the patient s fluid and electrolyte
imbalance, intake and output. Also, check and monitor complete blood count and
coagulation studies for signs of blood loss and coagulopathy, monitor and test stools,
urine and vomitus for blood; watch for bleeding. Teach the patient s family about
Ebola virus infection; monitor the patient s family and other close contacts for fever

this change by liking him more. Billy s teachers liked him more because he did his
work, and teachers like students like that. Another bad trait that Billy is that he is
disrespectful to his teachers. Billy yells at his teachers, and says stuff like, I DON

being able to depend on him to be doing things and not yelling at his teachers. Billy

Pros And Cons Of Corn
It was in 1826 when French physician and dietitian Anthelme Brillat Savarin wrote,
Dis moi ce que tu manges, je te dirai ce que to es, Tell me what you eat, and I will
tell you what you are. (Brillat Savarin 1825) If this idea that we are what we eat is
true when what we are as Americans living in the United Statesis corn. Corn is the
largest commodity crop grown in the U.S., it is turned into the cheapest and most
consumed sweetener, high fructosecorn syrup, it finds its way into 75% of the
products in the average grocery store, and unlike its ancestor from southern
Mexico the corn we grow today has close to zero nutritional value. It is estimated
by the National Corn Growers Association that the average American consumes 25
pounds of corn each year. When one thinks about corn consumption, they tend to
think about products such as sweet corn, corn flakes, popcorn, or corn oil.
(National Corn Growers Association) However corn is found in many more
products such as, soda, candy, breakfast cereals, yogurt, sauces, beef, chips and
pretty much anything else you can find that is both sweet and cheap. The hidden
corn in our diet leaves the uniformed consumer at risk of serious health issues. The
large scale of corn production in the United States directly correlates with the
unhealthy eating habits and the alarming percentage of obesity in America. Corn is
in nearly everything we eat and we don t even know about it. Why do we grow so
much corn in the U.S.? The answer is
Effectiveness of Fiscal Policy as a Stabilization Tool
The Effectiveness of Fiscal Policy as Stabilization Policy

This paper was presented at the Bank of Korea International Conference, The
Effectiveness of Stabilization Policies, Seoul, May 2005. I am grateful to my
discussants, Takatoshi Ito and Chung Mo Koo, and other conference participants for
comments on an earlier draft.
I. Introduction
Perspectives among economists on the usefulness of fiscal policy as a device for
macroeconomic management have moved back and forth over the years. Belief in
the active use of the tools of fiscal policy may have reached a relative peak
sometime during the 1960s or early 1970s, and practice followed theory. In the United
States, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, one might wish to announce that the ITC would be eliminated in the
future, to spur investment today, but once the future arrived, and today s investment
had already taken place,

it might no longer be optimal to repeal the credit. Hence, in addition to the policy lags
that made the implementation of policy difficult, one was confronted with two major
additional obstacles: first, to figure out how to evaluate potential policies and, second,
to recognize that agents react not to policies that are announced, but to policies that
are expected. To these three hurdles, policy lags, model instability, and dynamic
inconsistency, the literature added several others. There was, of course, the problem
that estimates of behavioral responses to fiscal policy were just that estimates of
parameters, not the parameters themselves. Even with a stable model, i.e., one based
on exogenous taste and technology parameters, uncertainty about model parameters
militated against activism, as shown by Brainard (1967). Moreover, determining the
right behavioral model is a difficult task, given that all models involve simplifying
assumptions, and some models of household and firm decisions suggested that fiscal
policy changes would be ineffective. For example, there has been a long debate in the
investment literature about the importance of the user cost of capital as a
determinant of investment, relating to such
Richard Rodriguez Family Values
Richard Rodriguez received degrees from Stanford University and Columbia

written many books, such as; Family Values. He addresses the concept of family
Values and focuses on the controversial thesis that homosexuality; rather than being a
threat to familyvalues is actually a wall against our dissolution. This is something
that relates to us now due to the fact we are moving away from traditional family
values . Women work and are focusing more on careers than having children.

Americans are encouraged to leave home and become their own man (Rodriguez
257). Americans talk about Hispanics and their impatience that they don t give up
their family (Rodriguez 261).
For each one of his claims he tells a mini story about each one. I can see why he
made these claims and how they are relevant today. Women are forced to work or
they choose to and would rather do that than have a family. People leave their
parents homes and never look back. When he mentions Hispanics, because he is one
he has more insight of how important family is to them and is qualified to make this
claim.
He points out that the mom in our generation is forced to leave home out of

Relative Valuing Best Buy
Relative Valuation According to Aswath Damodaran, relative valuation is the most
widely used technique in sell side research at investment banks. Relative valuation
is the concept of using multiples and comparing the value of an asset to a similar
asset in the market. Purchasing a house uses concepts of relative valuation. Houses
are priced by comparing other houses that have similar specification within the
same neighborhood. In this section I will be valuing Best Buy using a historical
relative valuation, ranking model using solver analysis, and pricing Best Buy s
equity share price by discounting the PV sum of 5 years of dividends and applying a
target P/E to my earnings per share forecast in 2020 to find the terminal value.

brown line running from its snout through its eye. It is commonly said to look like
the dog tГЄte de Chien. This happens to be a non poisonous snake, making it not
harmful to humans, but they are still able to defend themselves in most cases .
Without venom they resort to other methods of defence or killing. They kill prey
by grabbing and enveloping it in tight coil making it impossible for the prey to
escape. The prey dies because their breathing and heartbeat is stopped due to the
cut off circulation. The next local snake is the Worm Snake , its scientific name is

Essay on History and Exploration of Villas
History and Exploration of Villas Villa is the Latin word for farm, and can also
mean a large country or suburban house . They ranged from luxurious mansions to
small working farms. Some villas, like Woodchester Roman Villain Gloucestershire
compare with eighteenth century stately homes. They sported lavish mosaic floors,
wall paintings, marble statuary, columns and balustrades. But few Romano British
villas were as posh as this. The majority were considerably smaller and included
houses, like Sparsholt, farmhouses with outbuildings where owners could only afford
one mosaic. A villawasn t just a building. The term... Show more content on

Another villa with a similar location is Bignor. It was located near Stane Street, for
easy access to Londinium. North Leigh Villa was located near Akeman Street, which
was another major route in Roman Britain. This makes Chedworth a typical villa as
far as location goes. It was near a major communications route, and had easy access
to towns. It was also near a stream, and was built on an intensely farmed piece of
land. As H.H Scullard said of typical villas, One factor was dominant in their choice
of sites: their distance from the town. Villas were working farms, and, therefore had
to be in contact with their markets, so that their viability depended on their access to
roads and towns .
There were many different types of villa. H.H Scullard described the four main
types of villa as the cottage, the winged corridor, the courtyard, and the aisled villa
. Because it was hard to light the inside of the villas, and land availability wasn t
usually a problem, Roman Villas tended to be rows of rooms, or wings. The
simplest were one row, usually with a corridor. Then a pair of small wings might
be added we call this the winged corridor villa, which was very common. To make a
house bigger, wings would be extended around a courtyard. This is what happened to

Executive Summary

Breach of Duty: Acme breached the duty of care because if we weigh the facts there
is more cost to Gunter than the cost of Acme preventing harm to Gunter by adding a
tag to Gunter s computer identifying it as the owner. The identification tag would
cost very little when comparing the harm caused to Gunter. In one of his letters,
Fontz mentioned that he had experienced a high volume of replacements and he was
unable to keep track of the defective parts. Calculating the risk from both sides
(defendant and plaintiff) we could conclude that Acme could prevent mixing up the
hard drives by identifying them at a very low cost, and Gunter would not face the
consequences of loosing the hard drive. Therefore, Acme breached the duty of care.
Negligence Per Se: According to the Business Law book by Mallor, courts use
statutes to determinate how a reasonable person would behave. Under the
Negligence Per Se, the defendant violation of such laws can create the breach of
duty and can allow the plaintiff to win the case . Acme breached the duty by failing
to return Gunter s original hard drive causing harm to Gunter.
Actual Cause: In actual cause, Gunter must connect his loss suffered by Acme s
actions. Gunter has to provide the proof necessary to conclude Acme s negligence.
Since there is no hard drive, Gunter is not able to prove it. However, he can argue
that because Acme lost his hard drive he is not able to

to exercise students skills in estimating corporate (divisional/project) costs of

Search for any recent stories about the 777 project and discuss briefly the project s
progress and success.
Notes and Hints: The WACC is equal to the weighted average of the component
capital costs, e.g., the weight in debt times the after tax cost of debt financing plus
the weight in equity times the after tax cost of equity financing corresponding to
the leverage: WACC = (D/V)*Rd*(1в€’ tax rate) + Re*(E/V), where tax rate =
marginal corporate tax rate (assume 34%), Rd = the before tax cost of debt (info
about the premium above long term government rates is provided in tables), Re is
the cost of equity, D and E are the market values of debt and equity. V = (E + D).
Remember that the higher leverage means the higher equity risk (and cost of
equity Re) and that you will have to un lever and re lever your firm s cost of equity
and any other firm (pure plays) when evaluating a project in a specific division.
Note that your firm (and comparable pure play firms) may have different leverage
(capital structures) than the target leverage of your firm and estimated equity betas
will reflect the past leverage!! Also, your firm may have several divisions and the
individual divisional projects may have different risks and thus different costs of
capital!! Pay special attention to the information and questions under the The 777
case segment (pages 6 9). State your parameters assumptions very clearly. Someone

The atmosphere of World War II helped enhance Lee s writing because it led to the
debut of Captain America Issue #3 in 1941 with the help of Joe Simon and Jack
Kirby. Lee used elements of the war and incorporated it into his work. The
controversy and calamity of the war made Lee s Captain America a prominent
figure during the war period because he epitomized anti Nazism in an unexpressed
interventionist tone (Wright 474). Lee constructed a tone towards Captain America,
which pledged to wage war against the enemies who were a threat to justice not
only home in America but also out of the country. With this tone, Lee s work had
the most attention in the World War II years. The influence of the war in Lee s
work, however, led to some criticism. The ideology that Lee s Captain America held
wasn t viewed properly by political groups of other countries at the time, but Lee
found reverence from young readers who idolized patriotism. At the time, Marvel
Comics was called Timely Comics, and Timely Comics became the first comic book
company to publish anti Nazi stories. After World War II transitioned to the Cold
War, America and the Soviet Union had high tensions between one another, and the
feeling of uncertainty grew amongst the two nations. Lee used the high tension and
uncertainty America faced with the Soviet Union, and incorporated them into his
writing. Lee s style of writing
Dignity In The Crucible
The Crucible Assertion Essay
Arthur Miller s play, The Crucible, asserts the fact that dignity and the feeling of
being important is worth more than anything in this world. We can see this when
John Proctor hesitates to sign the paper full of lies, even if it means freedom. Then
when they finally get him to sign it somehow, he refuses to let them post his
confession on the door of the church. Furthermore, we see it s not just John Proctor
who doesn t want to confess for something he didnt do, we see hale trying to help
him out. , (i needed to study for my ap calculus test today so i didn t put that much
effort pls tell me if my basic format is right or not). We can also confirm these
things when Proctor says A man will not cast away his good name. You surely
know that.(102) , She only thought to save my name! (105), and finally Because it
is my name! Because I cannot have another in my life! Because I lie and sign
myself to lies! Because I am not worth the dust on the feet of them that hang! How
may I live without my name? I have given you my soul; leave me my name! (133).
The author s purpose is to show how much name and dignity is important in this
world and he showed in a form of a drama genre book. The tone in this book was
mostly aggressive. When John Proctor says, Because it is my name! Because I
cannot have another in my life! Because I lie and sign myself to lies! Because I am
not worth the dust on the feet of them that hang! How may I live without

comes to healthcare education and professionals, there is a global imbalance . In
2013, the World Health Organization (WHO), stated that we are short of 7.2 million
health workers, and this number is expected to nearly double to 12.9 million by
2035. The WHO cited the age of the healthworkforce, lack of youth filling healthcare
jobs, inadequate training, and that internal and international migration of health
workers is also exacerbating regional imbalances . Furthermore, several journals and
organizations, including the WHO, New England Journal of Medicine(NEJM), Health
Volunteers Overseas, Human Resources for Health, and Routledge International

alcohol and Xanax are cleared from the body from the same liver enzymes; both drugs
are broken down by the exact same compounds which is problematic being that it
takes the body longer to detoxify itself after taking the two together at the same time
subsequently making the substance stay in your system that much longer. It seems
that the attraction to taking these two drugs simultaneously is because of how they
both are intensified when taking them together however that intense feeling can be

Explain The Differences Between The Hayward Gallery
Explain the differences between the Hayward gallery (1968) and its South Bank
neighbour, the Royal Festival Hall (1951) in terms of their planning and finishing and
in the different ways they relate to their urban context.
 While there are many
similarities between the Hayward Gallery and Royal Festival Hall, there also are a
number of differences in terms of planning and finishing in relation to urban
context. Higgs and Hill built the Hayward Gallery, which opened on The 9th of
July. It is an art gallery located in the Southbank Centre, which is a key arts venue
in Central London. Until early 2011 the gallery was simply known as the
Hayward. The Royal Festival Hall is situated adjacent to the Hayward Gallery. It is
a famous dance, concert and talks venue with a capacity of 2500. It was the first
the post war building to listed as a Grade 1 building. The Hall officially opened on
3rd May 1951 and was built as part of the Festival of Britain for the London County
Council. Planning plays an integral role in the procedure to achieve any given

scorn and derision by all the characters. Shylock s misfortunes stem not from poor
attributes or even a poor background; it stems from the fact he is Jewish, and what is
more, he is impenitent of that distinction. If he had been more daunted by Christian
influence, he might have been forgiven, as Jessica is subjectively exonerated. He is
not contrite and it is believed that his appalling birth cannot be absolved (Bonnell).

If she refuses to follow all of the instructions of the lottery, she loses her inheritance.
Portia is no fool; she comprehends the importance of financial security, a quality that
is woefully wanting in her male counterparts.
The cycle of hatred and animosity are evident in The Merchant of Venicemost clearly
through Jessica s deplorable treachery of Shylock (Blanchard). The theft of his
money and jewels was considered by the Christians a credit to her integrity rather
than the consummate maliciousness it truly is. She is absolved from any
culpability for her betrayal of Shylock; she is praised for her ability to deceive and
defraud her father in a culture that sanctioned paternal piety (Picker). She marries
the Christian Lorenzo in hopes of improved egalitarianism; she soon discovers that
this will not be the case. Her profound guilt and strict upbringing as a Jewish
female are revealed in the conversation between herself and Lorenzo: Jessica: I am
never merry when I hear sweet music. Lorenzo: The man that hath no music in
himself, Nor is moved with concord to sweet sounds, Is fit for treasons, stratagems,
and spoils The motions of his spirit are as dull as night, And his affections are as
dark as Erebus. Let no such man be trusted. Mark the music (Shakespeare Act V,
Scene 1).
Lorenzo does not comprehend Jessica s meaning and therefore fails to recognize her
compunction as he emphasizes music as a verifiable
Insight In Pangloss s Candide
Alejandro Munoz
ENG 20200

Candide
The question for this essay is do I think Candide gained insight and why is that
relevant? To answer that question we must understand two things that are mentioned
throughout the whole story in a rather indirect way. The first thing we must define is
insight. People always talk about gaining insight but how many of them actually use
it the right way or even thinks about the fact that insight might mean something
different to other people? Well to me, insight is not the ability to gain knowledge
about something or someone, to me it is THE PROCESS of learning through
experiences of your own and other s. Insight is not just something you are told; the
way that Pangloss tells Candide throughout entire the story ...everything is for the
best in this world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fact that Pangloss made Candide believe this throughout the whole story
affected Candide s judgment and ability to gain actual insight. But we ll talk about
that later on. On the other hand, the second term that I believe must be clarified is
my definition or rather my view of Satire. What is that word and what does it
mean? Classmate NAME described insight in a manner that I would actually agree
to. He said that Satire is QUOTE. I believe that definition to be entirely true, the
only thing that I would add to it is that Satire doesn t just make fun of politics and
society, I would make it more specific and would argue that satire makes fun of
every controversial topic there is, from religion, to politics, to abortion, and even
death, in a cruel but kind of true way. This means in my mind that even though satire
is meant to be entertaining and comical, it is also intended to touch a soft spot on
our heads and realize that some of the things said are actually true. Anyways, now
that those to important terms are defined from my point of view, an answer can be
given. So did Candide gain insight? In
Legend Of Gallipoli
Hypothesis: In contrast to common societal belief, the Gallipoli Campaign had both a
positive and negative impact on Australian Society. By building the Anzac spirit, it
distinguished Australia as its own nation, built on a foundation of qualities embedded
in this Anzac Legend. The nation advanced socially and gained respect on a Global
stage, but, Australiadid significantly decline economically and the morals of praising
a failed war are question by some.
Intro: As the battle died, the legend was born, and so was the nation. On the 28th of

However, the costs of war were very damaging on the economy. In simple terms, the
Anzac legend is the commemoration of the Anzac spirit, born and developed
throughout the eight months on the battlefield of Gallipoli. The horrible situations,
made the Anzacs strong and resilient, they had to rely upon mateship and each other
to get through. Their larrikinism also helped to keep many in as good a mood as
possible. Australia was very proud of their soldiers and aspired to be like them, this
meant that soon the whole country adopted the qualities of the Anzac spirit and the
building of a nation began. This nation was not the newly federated country that still
was much divided into the different qualities, Gallipoli fixed that two. Because man
from all different backgrounds and states fought together they were properly united
and brought that attitude back home. The Anzac legend has had a positive impact,
defining what it means to be Australian, however how did Gallipoli an WW1 impact
on Australia socially and economically. The failed Gallipoli campaignmean that
bonds with Britain deteriorated, due to poor British leaderships, and the superiority
that that showed to Australians. By leaving the influence of Britain the nation was
shaped more as an individual country which allowed them to impress on an
international stage. Other than the Anzac legend, positive societal effects include;
new industries with more jobs were developed, new political groups and trade
unions were created, a strong military tradition was established, chemical and
electrical industries were formed and women gained a higher role in society this
was the first war they could help out by encouraging men to enlist, being nurses or
taking over as factory workers. Negatives include; the deaths left a large dent in an
already small population, violence increased, there was
The Lincoln-Douglas Debate
Stephen Douglas, born in Brandon, Rutland County Vermont in 1813, became a
lawyer after embarking to Illinois. He was exposed to English studies like
mathematics and classical languages and was very active in the school debating
society. He also grew up around politics; living in an area where there were town
meetings, local democracy, and self government. At times, he would often spent his
evenings and Sundays in political discussion with other young men in the
community. He studied law and served as judge of the Supreme Court of Illinois
From 1841 1843. He became a member of the State House of Representatives in
1836 1837. Then he was elected into the U.S. House of Representatives and served

The debates were reported by newspapers across the entire nation followed by all
Americans. As many as 12,000 people showed up for the first debate in Ottawa.
More people came to watch the second debate in Freeport and just 1,500 people
showed up to the third debate in Jonesboro. (Lutz 2) The Illinois Senate race of
1858 had a major impact on the presidential campaign of 1860. Lincoln became a
national figure and a contender for the Republican nomination in 1860. The debates
weakened Douglas in the South. According to Douglas, the essence of Democracy
means process, which creates a happy, free, and prosperous society. Democracy
should enable people to get happiness, freedom and prosperity in their life but for
Lincoln, Democracy was principle. Douglas accused Lincoln that his aim was to
dissolve the Whig party and the Democratic Party and combine them into an
Abolition party and make it under the name of the Republican
Timba Research Paper
The word timba also is part of a large family of Г¬mbГ® and Г¬ngГ® words which
then made their way into Spanish from African languages and was a word that had
several different uses with no particular definition, that was before it became the
newest Cuban music and dance craze and in the 1970 s and 1980 s is when Cuban
music took another direction with Timba, it was mostly heard within the African

even bebop influenced, and stretch to the extreme ranges of all instruments. Bass and
percussion patterns are similarly unconventional. Improvisation is commonplace. the

Lululemon Athletica Analytic Essay
Case Analysis #1 Problem Essay Lululemon Athletica Inc Samuel Ellison Presented
for: Professor Kannangara Sunday, March 6th, 2016 BUSI4003 Introduction
Lululemon Athletica Inc., founded in 1998 in Vancouver by Chip Wilson, is a
company which designs and produces high end yoga and technical athletic clothing.
They have operated primarily in North America and Australia; their initial target
customer was an educated woman who lives an active and healthy lifestyle. They
opened their first store in Kitsilano in BC in November, 2000. The first store was
intended to act as a community hub where people could learn and discuss about the
physical aspects and mental aspects of a healthy life, in addition to selling yoga

The company plans to launch stand alone men s stores by 2016 and expand their
business globally. That same day, the company announced plans to quit the
Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) due to a lack of trading on the Canadian
exchange, stating that the expenses associated with having a dual listing were not
justifiable(Nichols, 2016). The one remark that sent the media in a frenzy was in
response to the public criticism of the sheer yoga pants, Wilson explained, Quite
frankly, some women s bodies just actually don t work for it. Even our small sizes
would fit an extra large(Nichols, 2016). It s really about the rubbing through the
thighs, how much pressure is there. This statement triggered massive social outrage
that was felt throughout many media platforms(Nichols, 2016). With this media
fire storm it was clear that Mr. Wilson needs to be reprimanded in the sense of
being taught to speak to the media. Christine Day has stepped down from the CEO
position and corporate will need to select another leader. To break down the analysis
of the case I believe is it best divide aspects of the case and as well what they should
do into categories such as : Economics, Sociocultural, Demographic, and
Technological. These would all be considered apart of all external aspects. Economic:

Distance Across Your Viewing Field
31.Field of view: Actual distance across your viewing field (left to right) when
looking through an optical instrument. It can be measured in two different ways:
linear feet at 1,000 yards (also known as Real Field of View) and angular degrees (or
Apparent Field of View).
Real field of view is the angle of the visible field, seen without moving the lens,
measured from the central point of the objective lens. The larger the value is, the
wider the view field available. Apparent field of view is the angle of the magnified
field when you look through lens. The larger the apparent field of view is, the wider
the field of view you can see even at high magnifications. With the conventional
method used previously, the apparent field of view ... Show more content on

The main factor that affects finesse is the reflectivity of the resonator mirrors since it
directly affects the number of beams oscillating within the cavity; In addition to
mirror reflectivity, factors that limit the finesse of a Fabry Perot resonator include the
mirror surface quality, along with vibrational and thermal stability of the resonator.
33.F number: unit used to measure the image brightness projected on the image
sensor from the lens. The F number of a lens is ratio of its focal length divided by the
diameter of the aperture. High F numbers show that less light travels through the
lens. An f number of X may also be displayed as 1: X (instead of f/X). The maximum
diameter of the lens opening is referred to as its maximum aperture or minimum f
number. The minimum f number is the smallest f number that can be selected with
the lens. Fig30: F number.
34.F stop: opening that lets light into your camera. And so the numbers on the f
stop relate to the size of the opening that is letting light into your camera. F stops
are measured by a scale, and this is known as the f stop scale. The numbers that
correspond to different f stops seem backwards, because an aperture of F8 is
actually smaller than an aperture of F4. So, the larger the number the smaller the
opening. And the smaller the number the larger the opening. Also, most f stop
numbers are not a whole number. They are an f5, or an f1.9, or an f6, or an f1.2.

Benefits Of Implementing Business Intelligence Systems
Benefits of Implementing Business Intelligence Systems There are a variety of
benefits when it comes to implementing a business intelligence system. Because the
nature of business intelligence is to gather data about customers and analyze the
information possessed, it leads to the idea that business intelligencesystems can help
create better customer relationships. This is due to the fact that the company has a
better understanding of what their customers desire and therefore, are able to serve
them better. When customers are happy and their needs are fulfilled, the company is
able to create customer loyalty, in which customers feel confident in returning to a
company with their business because they know they can expect a pleasant
transaction. With customer loyalty and better customer relationships also comes an
improvement in sales. Customers frequently return to conduct business, as well as
alert others of the company via word of mouth. This can generate more revenue for
the company. However, there is another way that business intelligencesystems can
lead to an improvement of sales. Business intelligence can help companies determine
how to promote and advertise their products to potential customers. For example, in
the grocery industry, companies can promote certain products by sending out
coupons to their customers that are likely to purchase that item. When the customer
receives the coupon, they are more likely to purchase the item, whether or not they

performances of the retail store employees on an immediate basis so that the sales

So the intuitive ability of a Retail Sales Associate to adapt to different shopping
preferences is needed on his/her part to succeed in this job role.
Responsibilities of a Retail Sales Associate include building customer confidence by
making their shopping experience interactive, engaging and reassuring; developing
the customers experience by positive addressing to and solving their problems;
making effective use of store displays to attract the customers; and developing a
positive customer relationship.
Moreover, to improve the employees performance I need to modify their behaviors
and need to define before them three essential behaviors that are necessary for job
performance being polite and communicative so that customers feel easy to interact,
being a good and patient listener so that the problems of the customers can be
understood and addressed properly, and always having a pleasant attitude. So, for
behavior modification I need to implement the following Organizational Behavior
Modification (OBM) Plan:
Firstly, I have to identify the performance related behaviors that are problematic (
Organizational Behavior Modification (OB MOD): A corrective behavior strategy ,
n.d.). Secondly, I have to measure the degree of the problem by establishing a
baseline in the target problem behavior ( Organizational Behavior Modification (OB
MOD): A corrective behavior strategy , n.d.).
Aladdin Character Analysis
Analysis:
Jasmine is a fifteen year old female princess from a place called Agrabah which is
located in a desert in the Middle East. She is a princess by decent as she is the
daughter of the Sultan. In the movie she must choose a suitor in three day before her
birthday as it is the day she and her suitor will become the Sultan and the Sultan s
wife.
She was the first of the princesses to have an outgoing, stubborn, opinionated and
independent personality. This is shown when she disagrees with the marriage law and
at the end of the movie when she obliterated the law. She also gets rid of the law that
states a princess cannot marry a street rat causing her to be able to marry Aladdin. She
is also kind as demonstrated when she takes an apple and gives it to a hungry child.
Jasmine was the sixth princess to grace our screens and she did so in 1992 in the
movie Aladdin. Aladdin is about a street rat who is kind of heart, which is shown
when he gives the bread he merely escaped death to retrieve, to a little girl and boy
he sees rummaging through the trash to find food. Aladdin re enters the town from
the back alleys and finds a peasant girl (Jasmine in disguise as she ran away from
the palace) who has just stolen from a store so that she could give a hungry street
child some food. She states to the clerk that she doesn t have any money but will go
back to the palace to retrieve some but he doesn t believe her and is just about to
sever her hands, as it was the fair punishment
Guillain-Barr Syndrome Essay
Guillain Barre syndrome is a rare neuromuscular disease. It is when the body s
immune system attacks part of the peripheral nervous system. It is a disorder
where the myelin sheath of the nerves is lost. This prevents the nerves from
sending signals to the muscles. This creates weakness in the muscles, normally
starting in the extremities and in some cases spreading to be complete paralysis.
Guillain Barre can happen to anyone regardless of age, this includes children, and
any sex. The causes are not completely known. Around 100,000 people are
diagnosed with Guillain Barre a year, and around one third of patients are admitted
into the ICU. Out of those 15 20% of patients require mechanical ventilation while
others aren t as severe.
Guillain Barre first symptoms can include weakness or tingling in the arms and
legs. This disease process is ascending so the weakness will start in the toes or
fingertips and progresses upward. The paralysis generally is similar on both sides
of the body. This can occur within a couple of days to increasing through a few
weeks. Patients can also have a decreased reflex in knees and weakness in respiratory
muscles and swallowing. Some other symptoms can include pain such as aching in
the shoulders, back, buttocks, and thighs. Respiratory complaints in these patients
can include; dyspnea while active, shortness of breath, difficulty swallowing, and
slurred speech.
It is diagnosed by observing a development of muscle paralysis, cerebrospinal

INTRO
Belonging is a fundamental part for all individuals in which we strive for acceptance
and security through others. Understanding is a main part of feeling like you
belonging. Individuals belong when they fell connected to others and the world.
However to do this they must first have an understanding and acceptance of self
which will nourish their sense of belonging. A lack of understanding of the concept
of belonging and yourself leads to preventing your identity, relationships, acceptance
and ultimately belonging. The concept of the understanding of belonging is shown in
my three texts: Swallow the air Tara Jane Winch, Rabbit Proof Fence Phillip Noyce
and So Much to Tell You John Marsden.

Evaluating A Nursing Care Plan
As a nurse, one must be aware of the Activities of Living (AoL), assessment
methods and understand how to formulate a Nursing Care Plan (NCP). When
tending to a patient, it is important to understand the AoL as well recognising how
they are affecting the patient, how to assess one s condition and what care needs
are priority when treating a patients symptoms. By having this knowledge a nurse
is able to develop a NCP more easily, therefore give the patient a greater quality of
care. When creating a NCP, one must assess, set goals, plan, implement and evaluate
the measures taken as well as incorporate a multi disciplinary team, to ensure the
patient receives the best care possible. (Holland et al. 2015, p.2), (Doenges, ME,
Moorhouse, MF, Geissler Murr, A 2002, p. 6).
The term Maintaining a Safe Environment (MSE) refers to the human body s ability
to protect itself and the biological mechanisms that it employs carry this out (Holland

Table 1 presents the descriptive statistics of variables used in this study. Based on
the ACS 2009 2013, the median housing price and median rent in Chicago
metropolitan area are $266,371 and $912, respectively. The average value of job
accessibility and mixed land use are 1.01 and 2.57, respectively. Figure 3 presents a
Kernel distribution of job accessibility and mixed land use, which shows that they
have different distributions. Average room is 2.64 and average year built is 61.
Average housing cost is $1,368. Average age and average household size is 36 and
2.66, respectively. The proportions of black and Hispanic are about 20%. Average
residential density is 7.25 (housing/mile2), and the proportion of single housing is
about 50%. The average distance to nearest park is 0.38mile, and the average
vacancy rate is 10%. As discussed above, our unit of analysis is census tract, and
2,014 census tracts are used in this study.
Figure 3. Density of Job Accessibility Index and Mixed Land Use
Figure 4 presents the spatial distribution of job accessibility measured based on the
equation (9) and mixed land use measured based on the equation (11). Job
accessibility decreases as distance from the CBD increases, but interestingly job
accessibility in the northern part from the CBD is high. Although many reasons may
affect this spatial distribution of job accessibility, this can be simply explained that
job supply is higher than job demand. This pattern of job accessibility seems
Strengths And Weaknesses Of Rational Choice Theory
Early theories on criminality presume criminal offenders as rational individuals and
criminal acts are based on rational decisions. The theory defined is the Rational
Choice Theory. An economic principle that assumes that individuals always make
prudent and logical decisions that provide them with the greatest benefit or
satisfaction and that are in their highest self interest. Most mainstream economic
assumptions and theories are based on rational choice theory. It has long appeared to
many people that economicsis the most successful of the social sciences. It has
assumed that people are motivated by money and by the possibility of making a
profit, and this has allowed it to construct formal, and often predictive, models of
human behavior. This apparent success has led many other social scientists to cast
envious eyes in its direction. They have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rational choice theory adopts a methodological individualist position and attempts to

2.Rational choice theory sees social interaction as social exchange. modelled on

profits that they can make.
3.Some rational choice theorists have seen rationality as a result of psychological
conditioning. Others have adopted the position that it is simply necessary to assume
that individuals act as if they were completely rational.
4.The problem of collective action poses great difficulties for rational choice theory,
which cannot explain why individuals join many kinds of groups and associations.
5.The problem of social norms, the other aspect of the Hobbesian problem of order,
also poses difficulties. Rational choice theories cannot explain the origins of social
norms, especially those of altruism, reciprocity, and

Creative Narrative Essay

  • 1. Creative Narrative Essay Crafting a Creative Narrative Essay can be a daunting task, requiring a delicate balance between imagination and structure. The challenge lies in not just narrating a story but doing so in a way that captivates the reader's attention and resonates with them on a deeper level. One must seamlessly blend creativity with coherence, making sure the narrative unfolds organically while maintaining a clear and compelling storyline. The difficulty intensifies when attempting to infuse unique elements that set the essay apart from conventional narratives. Striking that perfect chord between originality and relatability demands a keen understanding of storytelling techniques, character development, and thematic exploration. Building a vivid world that draws readers in requires a meticulous choice of words, vivid descriptions, and a keen sense of pacing. Moreover, the challenge extends to navigating the fine line between personal expression and broader audience appeal. While the essay is a canvas for personal creativity, it must also resonate with a diverse readership. Achieving this balance necessitates careful consideration of the target audience and an understanding of how to weave universal themes into the narrative. As the writer delves into the realms of creativity, there is a constant need for self-reflection and refinement. The process involves not only drafting and revising but also embracing a willingness to take risks and explore unconventional narrative structures. This dynamic interplay between spontaneity and structure adds an extra layer of complexity to the writing process. In conclusion, tackling a Creative Narrative Essay requires navigating the intricate landscape of storytelling, creativity, and reader engagement. It demands a fusion of artistic expression and disciplined craftsmanship. Though challenging, the process can be immensely rewarding, offering a platform to showcase the writer's unique voice and perspective. For those seeking assistance in this endeavor, or any other writing project, various resources are available. Similar essays and more can be explored and ordered on platforms like HelpWriting.net, where professional writers can provide guidance and support in crafting compelling narratives. • 2. Analysis Of The Book David s Absalom David (Goliath; Jonathan; Bathsheba; Absalom) David was the youngest out of 8 brothers and the one God chose to be the next king of Israelites after King Saul, the current ruler. The Israelites did not get along with the Philistines and in the Philistines, there was a giant named Goliath who challenged the people of Israelite to fight him so they there would stop being conflict. No one wanted to fight this scary giant but Davidvolunteered. He grabbed a sling shot and 5 stones and as Goliath was teasing him for being so little, he shot Goliath between the eyes and Goliath fell, defeating the giant. Then, David met Jonathan, and as soon as they finished talking, their souls were entwined. Since Jonathan loved him, he gave David his sword, bow, and belt and as a result whenever David was sent out on the missions that Saul put him in, he was very successful. However, in the spring time when all the kings go off to war, David remained behind in Jerusalem where he spotted a beautiful young woman named Bathsheba, who unfortunately was married to Uriah the Hittite. David tricked Uriah into staying at the kingdom where he got him drunk and placed Uriah in the line of fire, killing him. David told Bathsheba where she mourned her husband but then she slept with David and bore him a son. While all of that was happening, Absalom was up early and greeting the townspeople, receiving their trust and loyalty. Whenever there were sounds of trumpets, the townspeople would say that Absalom
  • 3. Fourth Of July Family Vacation Every year my family and I would decide on the country to visit for our Fourth of July family vacation. It has been a tradition of ours for a while now. Our goal is to visit all of the countries in the world and learn about the many different cultures for ourselves. We are all humans at the end of the day and we are all similar in more ways than we realize. The reason is that we just don t want to remain complacent in a comfortable bubble, due to the fear of the unknown or false information. Therefore, our next destination would be to Africa, particularly South Africa. After reading various blogs from the study abroadstudents at Temple University, two of the blog posts had captured my interests because both of their locations were in Africa.... • 8. Cross Cultural Comparison Regarding Technological... This executive summary outlines research conducted and contained in the report titled Cross Cultural Comparison Regarding Technological Unemployment: The United States and Europe in Struggle . Research conducted found that increases in automation have significantly decreased employment options for those people who lack sufficient means to complete higher educationrequirements. This may be in part due to the sharp increases in the cost of post secondary education. This has led to a sharp decline in the middle classworldwide and a polarization of the lower class and the upper class. Manufacturing jobs were once a way of attaining gainful employment for those without a college degree, from which people could gain experience and were jobs which held an ability for promotion. Due in part to automation, these jobs and therefore this sector of the workforce is in a rapid and steady decline, endangering the middle class in America. This fact is highlighted in a report published by The Heritage Foundation, in which is reported that employment in the manufacturing sector for workers with a high school diploma in the United States has fallen 38.6% since 1992 (Sherk, 2010). This equates to 4.6 million job opportunities lost by middle class Americans. One example of technologies that have contributed to this decline is computer numerical control (CNC) and computer aided machining (CAM). In the past, there may have been perhaps 25 machinist s working on 25 traditional lathes making
  • 9. Pros And Cons Of Economic Hitmen Ultimately, due to the large debts, the U.S. is able to draw on these countries for political, economic and military favours whenever desired. And of course, the U.S. corporations involved with the expensive projects become extremely wealthy. Economic hit men [EHM] do not actually work for a United States government organization such as the Central Intelligence Agency. The risk with such a direct association is obvious. For example, if an EHM was working to put a country in debt to the U.S. with the main reason being for favourable military and political positions against the Soviet Union, the Soviet Union would be quite likely to take military action against the U.S. if that EHM were found to be working for the U.S. government. In the 1960s, America found a way to use economic hitmen without directly implicating Washington. It was during the 1960s that we saw the empowerment of international corporations and multinational organizations such as the World Bank. This allowed for governments, corporations and multinational organizations to form mutually beneficial relationships. United States intelligence agencies were able to use these relationships to their advantage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These economic hitmen would never be paid by the government; instead, they would draw their salaries from the private sector. As a result, their dirty work, if exposed, would be chalked up to corporate greed rather than to government policy. In addition, the corporations that hired them, although paid by government agencies and their multinational banking counterparts (with taxpayer money), would be insulated from congressional oversight and public scrutiny, shielded by a growing body of legal initiatives, including trademark, international trade, and Freedom of Information

  • 11. Hummingbirds Research Paper Information About Hummingbirds. Yes, it is the annual battle of the hummingbirds here in north Texas. Late August through September brings swarms of migrating hummingbirds to the feeders, each hummingbird claiming a feeder of its own for few days before moving on down south. This time of year, my yard becomes a war zone between hummingbirds as well as against yellow jackets and bees! Hummingbirds are very territorial and will jealously guard their feeder from all other hummers who want a sip of the sweet nectar. Although my many feeders are spread quite a bit apart so more hummingbirds can feed in peace, there appears to be a Ruby throated female that is determined to defend three feeders. As she squeaks and zips over to a feeder that another hummingbird dared to approach, other hummingbirds converge on the feeder she just left, sneaking some nectar while she is away. She will viciously fly straight for the intruder, sometimes even flying right into them, chasing him away. She ll perch on top of pole from which the feeder hangs, looking around as if to say, See? I got him and I ll get you if you try anything stupid like trying to get some of my nectar. From dawn to dusk, she ll bully the other hummers. Clearly, this lil lady is a hummer with an attitude! ... Even though this baby did not have any notion of what was going on, she was still a victim of Chinese norms. This baby also became forgotten being that she was not given the opportunity to be alive. Kingston s aunt decision of killing the baby, had to do greatly with the fact that she was girl. As the book states it was probably a girl; there is some hope for forgiveness for boys . (Brillat Savarin 1825) If this idea that we are what we eat is true when what we are as Americans living in the United Statesis corn. Corn is the largest commodity crop grown in the U.S., it is turned into the cheapest and most consumed sweetener, high fructosecorn syrup, it finds its way into 75% of the products in the average grocery store, and unlike its ancestor from southern Mexico the corn we grow today has close to zero nutritional value. It is estimated by the National Corn Growers Association that the average American consumes 25 pounds of corn each year. When one thinks about corn consumption, they tend to think about products such as sweet corn, corn flakes, popcorn, or corn oil. (National Corn Growers Association) However corn is found in many more products such as, soda, candy, breakfast cereals, yogurt, sauces, beef, chips and pretty much anything else you can find that is both sweet and cheap. The hidden corn in our diet leaves the uniformed consumer at risk of serious health issues. The large scale of corn production in the United States directly correlates with the unhealthy eating habits and the alarming percentage of obesity in America. I am grateful to my discussants, Takatoshi Ito and Chung Mo Koo, and other conference participants for comments on an earlier draft. I. Introduction Perspectives among economists on the usefulness of fiscal policy as a device for macroeconomic management have moved back and forth over the years. Belief in the active use of the tools of fiscal policy may have reached a relative peak sometime during the 1960s or early 1970s, and practice followed theory. In the United States, ... For example, one might wish to announce that the ITC would be eliminated in the future, to spur investment today, but once the future arrived, and today s investment had already taken place, 2 it might no longer be optimal to repeal the credit. Hence, in addition to the policy lags that made the implementation of policy difficult, one was confronted with two major additional obstacles: first, to figure out how to evaluate potential policies and, second, to recognize that agents react not to policies that are announced, but to policies that are expected. To these three hurdles, policy lags, model instability, and dynamic inconsistency, the literature added several others. There was, of course, the problem that estimates of behavioral responses to fiscal policy were just that estimates of parameters, not the parameters themselves. Even with a stable model, i.e., one based on exogenous taste and technology parameters, uncertainty about model parameters militated against activism, as shown by Brainard (1967). Moreover, determining the right behavioral model is a difficult task, given that all models involve simplifying assumptions, and some models of household and firm decisions suggested that fiscal policy changes would be ineffective. For example, there has been a long debate in the investment literature about the importance of the user cost of capital as a determinant of investment, relating to such

People leave their parents homes and never look back. When he mentions Hispanics, because he is one he has more insight of how important family is to them and is qualified to make this claim. He points out that the mom in our generation is forced to leave home out of economic necessity to later show that there are some moms who do not want to be a mom anymore. Rodriguez says this could become a problem: what if moms refuse pregnancy in the future? He says mom is only becoming an American like the rest of us. Rodriguez seems to point out what the mom s job should be in the family when he says the politician s wife is careful to follow her husband s sentimental reassurance that nothing has changed about America except perhaps for the sinister influence of deviants (259). The identification tag would cost very little when comparing the harm caused to Gunter. In one of his letters, Fontz mentioned that he had experienced a high volume of replacements and he was unable to keep track of the defective parts. Calculating the risk from both sides (defendant and plaintiff) we could conclude that Acme could prevent mixing up the hard drives by identifying them at a very low cost, and Gunter would not face the consequences of loosing the hard drive. All of the characters are affected by inequality. This inequity is evidenced clearly in Shylock, the Jewish usurer. He is treated with scorn and derision by all the characters. Shylock s misfortunes stem not from poor attributes or even a poor background; it stems from the fact he is Jewish, and what is more, he is impenitent of that distinction. The theft of his money and jewels was considered by the Christians a credit to her integrity rather than the consummate maliciousness it truly is. To answer that question we must understand two things that are mentioned throughout the whole story in a rather indirect way. The first thing we must define is insight. People always talk about gaining insight but how many of them actually use it the right way or even thinks about the fact that insight might mean something different to other people? Well to me, insight is not the ability to gain knowledge about something or someone, to me it is THE PROCESS of learning through experiences of your own and other s. Insight is not just something you are told; the way that Pangloss tells Candide throughout entire the story ...everything is for the best in this world ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fact that Pangloss made Candide believe this throughout the whole story affected Candide s judgment and ability to gain actual insight. But we ll talk about that later on. On the other hand, the second term that I believe must be clarified is my definition or rather my view of Satire. What is that word and what does it mean? Classmate NAME described insight in a manner that I would actually agree to. He said that Satire is QUOTE. I believe that definition to be entirely true, the only thing that I would add to it is that Satire doesn t just make fun of politics and society, I would make it more specific and would argue that satire makes fun of every controversial topic there is, from religion, to politics, to abortion, and even death, in a cruel but kind of true way. This means in my mind that even though satire is meant to be entertaining and comical, it is also intended to touch a soft spot on our heads and realize that some of the things said are actually true. Anyways, now that those to important terms are defined from my point of view, an answer can be given. So did Candide gain insight? In

Benefits Of Implementing Business Intelligence Systems Benefits of Implementing Business Intelligence Systems There are a variety of benefits when it comes to implementing a business intelligence system. Because the nature of business intelligence is to gather data about customers and analyze the information possessed, it leads to the idea that business intelligencesystems can help create better customer relationships. This is due to the fact that the company has a better understanding of what their customers desire and therefore, are able to serve them better. When customers are happy and their needs are fulfilled, the company is able to create customer loyalty, in which customers feel confident in returning to a company with their business because they know they can expect a pleasant transaction. With customer loyalty and better customer relationships also comes an improvement in sales. Customers frequently return to conduct business, as well as alert others of the company via word of mouth. • 51. Evaluating A Nursing Care Plan As a nurse, one must be aware of the Activities of Living (AoL), assessment methods and understand how to formulate a Nursing Care Plan (NCP). When tending to a patient, it is important to understand the AoL as well recognising how they are affecting the patient, how to assess one s condition and what care needs are priority when treating a patients symptoms. By having this knowledge a nurse is able to develop a NCP more easily, therefore give the patient a greater quality of care. When creating a NCP, one must assess, set goals, plan, implement and evaluate the measures taken as well as incorporate a multi disciplinary team, to ensure the patient receives the best care possible. (Holland et al. 2015, p.2), (Doenges, ME, Moorhouse, MF, Geissler Murr, A 2002, p. 6). The term Maintaining a Safe Environment (MSE) refers to the human body s ability to protect itself and the biological mechanisms that it employs carry this out (Holland et al. 2015, p.46). This ability to dependent on one s choice, action, identification and understanding of staying free of danger. Factors that may affect Mr James ability to maintain a safe environment include: Maintaining homeostasis. Homeostasis is a state of body equilibrium or stable internal environment of the body (Marieb, EN Hoehn, K 2016, p.1181). Mr James is febrile with a temperature of 38.2 degrees. Due to Mr James infectious state his homeostasis has been disturbed therefore increasing his temperature above the normal
  • 52. Descriptive Statistics Of A Distribution Of Job... Table 1 presents the descriptive statistics of variables used in this study. Based on the ACS 2009 2013, the median housing price and median rent in Chicago metropolitan area are $266,371 and $912, respectively. The average value of job accessibility and mixed land use are 1.01 and 2.57, respectively. Figure 3 presents a Kernel distribution of job accessibility and mixed land use, which shows that they have different distributions. Average room is 2.64 and average year built is 61. Average housing cost is $1,368. Average age and average household size is 36 and 2.66, respectively. The proportions of black and Hispanic are about 20%. Average residential density is 7.25 (housing/mile2), and the proportion of single housing is about 50%. The average distance to nearest park is 0.38mile, and the average vacancy rate is 10%. As discussed above, our unit of analysis is census tract, and 2,014 census tracts are used in this study. Figure 3. Density of Job Accessibility Index and Mixed Land Use Figure 4 presents the spatial distribution of job accessibility measured based on the equation (9) and mixed land use measured based on the equation (11). Job accessibility decreases as distance from the CBD increases, but interestingly job accessibility in the northern part from the CBD is high. Although many reasons may affect this spatial distribution of job accessibility, this can be simply explained that job supply is higher than job demand. This pattern of job accessibility seems
  • 53. Strengths And Weaknesses Of Rational Choice Theory Early theories on criminality presume criminal offenders as rational individuals and criminal acts are based on rational decisions. The theory defined is the Rational Choice Theory. An economic principle that assumes that individuals always make prudent and logical decisions that provide them with the greatest benefit or satisfaction and that are in their highest self interest. Most mainstream economic assumptions and theories are based on rational choice theory. It has long appeared to many people that economicsis the most successful of the social sciences. It has assumed that people are motivated by money and by the possibility of making a profit, and this has allowed it to construct formal, and often predictive, models of human behavior. This apparent success has led many other social scientists to cast envious eyes in its direction. They have... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Rational choice theory adopts a methodological individualist position and attempts to explain all social phenomena in terms of the rational calculations made by self interested individuals. 2.Rational choice theory sees social interaction as social exchange. modelled on economic action. People are motivated by the rewards and costs of actions and by the profits that they can make. 3.Some rational choice theorists have seen rationality as a result of psychological conditioning. Others have adopted the position that it is simply necessary to assume that individuals act as if they were completely rational. 4.The problem of collective action poses great difficulties for rational choice theory, which cannot explain why individuals join many kinds of groups and associations. 5.The problem of social norms, the other aspect of the Hobbesian problem of order, also poses difficulties. Rational choice theories cannot explain the origins of social norms, especially those of altruism, reciprocity, and
