2. Draft sketches This is a draft sketch of what I wanted my front cover to look like; you can see that I have taken a lot of inspiration from the NME cover of Florence Welch. The main element I wanted to take away from the NME cover was the main image style - the extreme close up shot of an expressive face being the centre of attention. I also wanted the same level of coherency on my cover that this one has.

3. 1st draft This is the first draft of my front cover. I managed to make it very similar to the draft sketch, especially in maintaining coherency throughout. Once I finished it, I asked for some audience feedback from my peers and they suggested that I “make it a bit more jazzy by adding a few more colours” and make “special first edition stand out more, so the customer would be able to see it straight away from the shelf”. One other thing that a peer mentioned was, although the eye colour made a nice effect because it was coherent with the text, it looked too “unnatural”.

4. Final version This is the final version of my front cover. I removed the quote from above “Sharmin”, because I didn’t like it. I also changed “special first edition” to “premiere issue” and made it seem as if it were a part of the masthead. I decided not to change much else, despite the suggestions for change I received, simply because I was happy with what I had made.
