Objective
What is an objective?
A statement that answers the question
What is the purpose of this résumé?
An objective can be vague or
specific.
Vague: To obtain a position as a nurse
at a hospital in Southwest Missouri
Specific: To obtain a position as a
full-time nurse in the Pediatrics unit
at St. John’s Hospital.

history
Make a list of any work you’ve
done or jobs you’ve held.
List most recent work first.
Include all work experience –
even if you didn’t get paid for
it or if it was short term.

High School, city, state, and
graduation year
Any courses that could be related to
your career
Any special training you have received
CPR
GPA – but only if it is 3.0 or higher
