However, you have a negative impact on residents who live near the highway during your project (with the sound of construction) and after your project, with far-reaching implications (increased noise and traffic pollution).
It is essential to engage with appropriate and effective stakeholders in the project. The Department's strategic planning initiatives require the same commitment of stakeholders in partnership building, conflict resolution, and collaboration to develop a broader range of community and service-oriented projects. Stakeholder involvement in the project is essential because it is the crucial element of my project, as it is they who will determine the success of the pedestrian control project that I manage - as a project manager; the project implementation process is successful and productive. The method I will use to involve active stakeholders in my project is to raise awareness about pedestrian safety, hazardous areas and times, compliance with the rules of the road, the use of cell phones and iPods, and then signaling and orders (Stephen, 2017).
The project developer, usually an official of the organization with the authority to allocate resources and enforce decisions concerning the project is a stakeholder. The customer, subcontractors, suppliers and sometimes even the government are stakeholders. The project manager, members of the project team, and managers of other departments in the organization are also stakeholders. It is important to immediately identify all the stakeholders in your project. Development and urbanization are closely articulated fi elds of study and practice. While urbanization and cities
are not an invention of the development era or the industrialized world, the discourse of development has
helped shape the discourses of contemporary urbanization. How development is defi ned, how it is measured,
whose development experience is counted and recognized, contemporary all have been the subject of debate
and critique with signifi cant implications for urban policies in the global South. The overall goal of this introduction
is to highlight the shifting terrain of discourses, institutions, and actors of development and urbanization and
their impact. “Whose development?” and “whose cities?” are two questions looming large in these debates,
around which we organize this brief introduction.
KEY ISSUES
Discursive shifts: whose development?
Since World War II, the record of the development enterprise and its glaring failure to bring about a dignifi ed
livelihood for the majority in the global South has invoked a range of important critiques from various corners.
In the 1960s and 1970s, against the backdrop of policies that understood development as national economic
growth, scholars looking at economic growth and poverty in growing cities declared that development was
not benefi ting the poor. Some called for a kind of development that addressed the basic needs of people and
advocated “growth with equity” (Streeten 1995; Burkey 1996). Others advocated a self-help movement in
housing that learned from the poor and their informal strategies (Turner 1977). These critics were joined
by feminist scholars and activists who in the 1970s had scrutinized agricultural modernization from a
gendered perspective (Boserup 1970). In the 1980s they demonstrated that economic development as
promoted through modernization and industrialization policies was also not benefi cial for poor women in
urban areas. They argued that development diminished the socio-economic status of women and their power
within the household, even as it increased their domestic burden (Brydon and Chant 1989; Potts 1999; Mies
et al. 1988; Crewe and Harrison 1998). In the same period, environmental movements demonstrated that
decades of implementing development policies and projects for economic growth had increased environmental
problems with devastating consequences for the poor, particularly for indigenous communities. They declared
development as not only excluding the poor but also damaging to the earth (Esteva and Prasak 1997; Peet
and Watts 1993; Hecht 2004; Mies and Shiva 1993). By the 1990s, post-developmentalist scholars and
activists pushed these oppositional voices further, arguing that development was not good for humanity, period.

Two great European writers of the nineteenth century, Ivan Turgenev and Karl Marx,
illustrate this diversity with vivid clarity. Both were born in 1818 and died in 1883, and
their lives paralleled each other almost preternaturally in many other respects as well.
They nevertheless came to view human life and suffering in very different, indeed
irreconcilable, ways—through different ends of the telescope, as it were. Turgenev saw
human beings as individuals always endowed with consciousness, character, feelings,
and moral strengths and weaknesses; Marx saw them always as snowflakes in an
avalanche, as instances of general forces, as not yet fully human because utterly
conditioned by their circumstances. Where Turgenev saw men, Marx saw classes of men;
where Turgenev saw people, Marx saw the People. These two ways of looking at the
world persist into our own time and profoundly affect, for better or for worse, the
solutions we propose to our social problems.
The resemblances between the careers of these men begin with their attendance at Berlin
University at overlapping times, where both were deeply affected—even intoxicated—by
the prevailing Hegelianism. As a result, both considered careers as university teachers of
philosophy, but neither ever held a university post. They had many acquaintances in

common in Berlin, including Mikhail Bakunin, the Russian aristocrat who later became a
revolutionary anarchist, the philosopher Bruno Bauer, and the radical poet Georg

Both started their writing careers as romantic poets, though more of Turgenev’s poetry

Their literary influences and tastes were similar. Each read widely in the Greek and Latin

A wound is a break in the integrity of the skin or tissues, which may be associated with disruption of the structure and function.
Healing is the body’s response to injury in an attempt to restore normal structure and functions.
Healing can occur in two ways: Regeneration and Repair
There are 4 phases of wound healing: hemostasis, inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. This document also describes the mechanism of wound healing. Factors that affect healing include infection, uncontrolled diabetes, poor nutrition, age, anemia, the presence of foreign bodies, etc.
Complications of wound healing like infection, hyperpigmentation of scar, contractures, and keloid formation.

The outline should include the type of disaster or hazard impacting the community, who will be involved in assisting the creation of the risk-reduction plan, types of organizations that are community stakeholders, what types of NGOs may be involved, political figures who would be supportive of such a measure, length of project to completion, probable pitfalls that may be associated with the project, cultural considerations (demographics, those who have experienced a disaster in this location, etc.), what types of volunteers will be needed to serve during times of crisis, funding for the project, and how sustainability will be used for maintaining the project/program several years from its inception. There is no minimum length or amount. It will be based on the topic you have developed in Unit I.
