Costa Rica signed an agreement with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) to strengthen plans for decarbonization and promote financing for renewable energy projects. The agreement will implement an investment roadmap for Costa Rica's Decarbonization Plan. IRENA will also collaborate with Costa Rica's hydrogen association and Ministry of Environment and Energy to develop a hydrogen strategy. The goal is to help Costa Rica further its ambitious goals of reducing emissions by promoting green hydrogen production and extending renewable energy to new sectors like transportation.
