3. 1. Course Overview
1.1. Course Introduction
This course deals with the study of the patterns
of human development especially focusing on
the cognitive, biological, social, moral and
emotional development of the chlld and
adolescent learners. It aims to give the students
the theoretical knowledge, appropriate values
and pedagogical skills to effectively deal with
learners at different levels by investigating the
various theories and learning princlples of
children's development, growth and learning
based on founded research trends.
1.2.Course Learning Outcomes
This course allows the students to:
demonstrate comprehensive understanding
of the various concepts, principles and theories
of child and adolescent growth and development
across curriculum teaching areas;
demonstrate through basic
scholarly
understanding of research-based
theories and pedagogical principles
