COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus that was first identified in Wuhan, China in 2019. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that can cause illnesses ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases like MERS and SARS. The symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, breathing problems, cough, tightness in the chest, runny nose, headache, and general feeling of being unwell and in severe cases it can cause pneumonia and kidney failure. The virus spreads through small droplets from coughing or sneezing that can be inhaled or gotten into the eyes, nose or mouth by touching contaminated surfaces.
