Objectives: At the end of the sessions, you will
able to:
4. Realize the importance of light and effect of too much exposure
to light.
Most Essential Learning Competency: Relate
characteristics of light such as color and intensity
to frequency and wavelength.
Materials: Compact
discs, Coloring Materials,
Coupon, Camera, and Sun
Light
Procedure:
1.Learners will focus the
compact disc to the sun and
reflect it to the coupon.
2.Observe the result in the
activity.
3.Picture the result of your
activity.
4.Draw your output using
your coloring materials.
GROUP ACTIVITY
Checkpoint 1
1.What are the colors that register in your
activity?
2.Which of the electromagnetic spectrum
does you observed?

Plants Animals Human
Importance of Light
All plants require light for
photosynthesis, the process
within a plant that converts
light, oxygen and water into
carbohydrates (energy). Plants
require this energy in order to
grow, bloom and produce seed.
Without adequate light,
carbohydrates cannot be
manufactured, the energy
reserves are depleted and
plants die.
Sunlight is vital for all animals,
even though different animals
need different amounts of
sunlight and in different ways.
For example, many mammals
and reptiles such as snakes,
turtles, and lizards come out
during the day to bask in the
sun to raise their body
temperatures and become
active.
Exposure to natural light helps
our bodies produce Vitamin D,
improves our circadian rhythms
and sleep patterns, helps us to
focus, enables us to get more
done, and even makes us
happier. Ensuring we get
enough of this vital resource is
key to our physical and
psychological wellbeing.
Effect of too
much
Exposure to
Light
According to Philippine Daily Inquirer,
there are approximately 500,000
Filipinos that are blind or visually
impaired and 2.2 billions are have
problems in their sight according to
World Health Organization in their
article last October 18, 2022.

Directions: Raise FACT is the statement is true and BLUFF if the
statement is false.
1. The white light has 7 color spectrum and arrange from red,
orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.
2. Red has the shortest wavelength in the color spectrum.
3. Violet has the highest frequency in the color spectrum.
4. The shorter the wavelength, the higher frequency and energy.
5. Too much exposure to blue light will make your eyes fatigue.
