4. Corona Virus
Disease 2019
(CoVid-19)
Is a novel (new) strain of Corona virus
that was first identified in Wuhan, Hubei
Province, China at the end of 2019.
It is considered as very similar to many
corona viruses that transmitted from
animals to humans with course of illness
from mild to moderate or even severe
complications from high risk groups.
5. Transmission:
A CoVid-19 is a respiratory virus which spreads primarily through
contact with an infected individuals through respiratory droplets
through coughs or sneeze. It can be through saliva or nasal discharge.
It can also be transmitted by touching contaminated surfaces or objects
then touching their eyes, nose or mouth.

According to WHO, as of May 2020, There where no
specific vaccines or treatment for CoVid-19.
However there are many ongoing clinical trials
evaluating potential treatments. The World Health
Organization continued to provide updates as soon
as clinical findings will become available.

13. Management:
There’s currently no treatment specifically
approved for COVID-19, and no cure for
an infection, although treatments and
vaccines are currently under study.
Instead, treatment focuses on managing
symptoms as the virus runs its course.

Nursing can be defined as being an advocate and being
caring with a compassionate heart.
With this current situation of CoVid-19, we are facing a lot
of challenges from healthcare work related issues to
personal concerns pertaining to health and safety for our
love ones. It will test our beliefs in life. Hence this issues,
triggers us to believe that everything happens for a reason
and has its own purpose.
Providing service to those who are in need without
compromising safety is greatly important and needed
today.
We pay tribute to all the man at the frontlines who are
tirelessly working through night and day. As we said, ”Not
all heroes wear capes, most of them are at the frontlines.”

1. Prepare Staff for the job and associated challenges. Avoid
false reassurances.
2. Open discussion of emotional responses, create a culture
of normalizing disclosures of vulnerability.
3. Allow reflection and discussions about emotional and
social challenges. Reaching out to vulnerable staffs.
4. A well defined and easily accessible protocols and
expectation for staff. Clear guidelines for the use of
personal protective equipment and its availability.
5. Establish an alternating shift system to allow front liners
periods of rest and rotation on high pressure roles.
6. Reduce of non-critical work activities and non-essential
administrative task.
