Corn gluten meal is a byproduct of the wet milling of corn to produce high fructose corn syrup. It is made up mainly of corn endosperm proteins like zein and glutelin but does not contain true gluten. Corn gluten meal has a typical analysis showing high protein content between 60-98% and metabolizable energy of 1,756 calories per pound, making it a valuable animal feed ingredient.
