Conversion is a Process Sermon Delivered @ Luther House Chapel By Rev. Thomas Low 7 Sept 2008
Colossians 2:6-7 “ As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving .”
Conversion is a gift and an achievement
It is the act of a moment and the work of a lifetime.
Salvation is of course, a pure gift of God, it is total Grace.
A Common Wrong Assumption: That spiritual growth is a given after conversion. That one would automatically grow when left alone.
Discipline is a fruit of conversion – not the root.
A fruitful life cannot be a careless life. It need to be nurtured. “ As therefore you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so live in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith” (Col. 2:6-7, RSV)
Key of spiritual nurture: Develop Simple spiritual Habits:
The Jesus’ habits: 1. He stood up and read as was his custom.
