This document contains several passages from 1 Corinthians chapters 12-13 discussing spiritual gifts. It explains that there are different kinds of gifts but the same Spirit, and gifts are given by God for the common good. The passages list various spiritual gifts including wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues and interpretation. The document encourages readers not to doubt they have gifts to offer and to use their gifts to serve others rather than themselves. It suggests examining one's heart, talking to others, and stepping out in faith to discover where one is called to minister using their gifts.
Paul had a passion for the spiritual development and growth of believers. He prayed constantly for believers, asking God to strengthen them internally and help them know Christ more deeply through faith. Paul wanted believers to progress spiritually through love, discernment, excellence, integrity, and doing good works so that God may be glorified in their lives through the indwelling Holy Spirit.
The spiritual journey of Christians is vastly different from a journey towards spirituality without Christ. The Christian journey involves growing deeper in knowledge of God through daily conversations with Him in prayer, as the Bible instructs. Christians are called to follow the one true path of Christ, not choose their own path. The spiritual journey of Christians progresses from being infants fed milk to becoming mature followers able to feed others. It is a lifelong process of purification and growing in holiness through obedience to God's word, not empty chanting, in order to find the narrow path that leads to eternal life.
This document discusses the doctrine of sanctification. It defines sanctification as being set apart from sin and unto God. Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit in making believers holy by implanting Christian graces and destroying sinful affections. The signs of sanctification and a summons to pursue it are also outlined.
The document contains passages from Philippians 2 that discuss humility, selflessness, and having the attitude of Christ. It encourages believers to serve joyfully through humility, considering others' interests above their own, and by following Christ's example of humility and obedience despite his divine status. It emphasizes living and serving with the motivation of Christ's love rather than selfish ambition.
This document discusses holiness in the New Testament through four examples: as an event, process, state or condition, and quality. It explores biblical passages about believers being made holy by Christ and calls Christians to present their bodies as living sacrifices. The document contrasts seeing things imperfectly now with perfect clarity later, and says Scripture equips believers while abiding in Christ enables doing God's will, though nothing can be done without Him as He forms Christ in believers.
After being justified as a righteous by the grace of God and and one's faith. Sanctified living is necessary for growth, fulfilling one's own purpose in life and pleasing God.

The overall message is that Christians are called to be fruitful by developing spiritually and bringing others to God.
Holiness as a process involves both an instantaneous event and a gradual process. At conversion, positional holiness is secured instantly through the cleansing work of the Holy Spirit. However, practical holiness involves a process of being made holy that begins at conversion and is completed in glory. This process involves cooperating with the Holy Spirit to learn obedience and purity through continually putting off sin and putting on righteousness.
1) The document discusses how true connection to Christ through communion is evidenced by the fruit a believer produces, such as love, joy, and obedience.
2) Regular fruit is a sign of healthy discipleship and growth in intimacy with God.
3) The conclusion examines whether one is a true, connected disciple based on the fruit in their life, encouraging growth and more fruit.

It emphasizes that though Paul faces hardships, he does not lose heart because he has received the treasure of God's mercy and gospel in his ministry. The gospel's message is veiled to unbelievers but reveals God's glory. Paul's goal is to preach Christ rather than himself. Though physically weak, Paul's inner being is being renewed as he fixes his eyes on the eternal, unseen things of God.
Jesus refers to being "poor in spirit" in the Beatitudes as being humble and lacking spiritual pride or arrogance before God. To be poor in spirit means recognizing one's own spiritual emptiness, sinfulness, and bankruptcy before a holy God. It acknowledges that we have nothing of worth to offer God and are completely destitute spiritually. Being poor in spirit results in the kingdom of heaven, or salvation, because only those who recognize their utter spiritual poverty can receive the free gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

Spiritual maturity is a process that begins when a person accepts Jesus Christ and chooses to live in obedience to Him. It requires consciously learning and applying God's word through studying the Bible and allowing the Holy Spirit to renew one's mind and transform them. Some marks of spiritual maturity include making choices that align with God's viewpoint over one's own, walking by the Spirit through obeying God's requirements, and distinguishing good from evil. Spiritual growth occurs gradually as believers continuously study scripture, apply it to their lives, and surrender to the Holy Spirit's control.

Paul teaches us that we can know if we're mature by whether we trust Jesus, are becoming more attached to him, and whether we keep pressing on. Those who are mature know this and act by it. If you do not know this, and/or you do not act by it, God will educate you further.
If God Made A Plan For Transformation Rodney Drury
God gives a number of "to do" list in Scripture that are given for our Spiritual growth. Through the work of the Holy Spirit and our effort, we but into action what God asks. Walking with God requires our whole heart, our being.
19 Hebrew words from Isaiah 1:16-17 are over-viewed with a loose literal translation and meditation points to help believers grow as followers.
Make your request known to Abba Father—He is faithful to hear and to answer us if and when we call upon His great name. The Father desire a close, loving, personal and intimate relationship with His sons and daughters—He delights in answering us to show us great and mighty things that we know not of. Abba Father is waiting for you in the secret place—come away with Him and make your request known. Allow the Father access to your heart as He pours out His love upon you— be still and know He is God as His aroma and presence fills the room—quite yourself to hear his still small voice (the gentle whispers of God) and breathe Him in—receive the abundance of His love and His goodness as He reveals Himself to you in ways yet unknown.
A worldview is the set of basic assumptions that help people make sense of reality and affects their actions, thinking, and behaviors. Everybody has a worldview, whether biblical or not. It is important to know the truth because many will be deceived and God will send a strong delusion for those who do not love the truth. Jesus is the truth, and knowing the truth through spiritual experience and knowledge of God's word is important for salvation.
The document discusses spiritual hunger and righteousness. It defines spiritual hunger as a rational appetite for that which is suitable to the soul. True spiritual hunger is blessed, as it shows one is alive in Christ and follows the new birth. There are two types of righteousness: imputed, through Christ's perfect righteousness; and implanted, the inherent graces of the spirit. The document examines signs of spiritual hunger and lack thereof, and encourages developing an appetite for righteousness through avoiding hindrances and engaging in spiritual disciplines like prayer and enduring affliction.
The Triad-Practice of Christian Life - Saint Martha Lenten Retreat 2014Kathy Sahagun

It provides examples of how Catholics can incorporate these practices through activities like Lent, various forms of prayer, charitable giving, and reflection on strengthening areas of faith through such disciplines. The document encourages sharing personal experiences with these practices and discussing how they can be helpful in one's spiritual life.
The parable of the Sower reminds us that we are grow and be fruitful. The parable of the mustard seed reminds us that the church is to grow. Are we growing with God’s growth? Paul’s letter to the Ephesians points us in the right direction for God’s growth: following God’s plan; growing in faith, love, hope, wisdom, and power; and bearing fruit.
Pastor Elio Marrocco's "Five Daily Habits for Happiness" sermon at New Life Christian Church on August 22, 2014. You can learn more about New Life Christian Church here: http://www.newlifecc.ca
The document discusses how Christians should be pliable and allow God to mold them into the people he wants them to be. It uses the example from Jeremiah of a potter shaping clay on a wheel to illustrate how God works with us. If we are rigid and resist his shaping, we risk being marred. But if we are pliable and cooperate with God, he can transform us into vessels for his use. The document encourages believers to follow Christ's example of obedience and humility by being moldable to God's will.
The document discusses how Christians can exercise their spiritual senses through practicing their faith, similar to how physical exercise strengthens the body. It outlines the spiritual counterparts to the five physical senses - taste, hearing, sight, smell, and touch - and provides Bible verses for how to develop each spiritual sense through regular spiritual practices like reading Scripture, prayer, worship, and acts of service. The overall message is that believers should make an effort to continuously train and strengthen their spiritual faculties just as they would their physical senses.
Sermon by Mike Smith.
Growing up in the Christian life is paramount to the disciple of Jesus Christ. Take some time to study and learn a few areas of spiritual growth we all need to apply so we may become mature Christians.
The document discusses the importance of having knowledge of God through a close relationship with Him, rather than just knowing about Him. It says Christians can perish due to a lack of knowledge of God, which is obtained by considering worldly things as worthless compared to knowing Christ. The signs of someone with knowledge of God are running from evil and reaching out to help the lost.
This document discusses Jesus Christ as the one perfect example for Christians to follow. It covers how Jesus showed courage yet humility, forgiving even while on the cross. He faithfully fulfilled His commitment to God the Father. The document asserts that through following Jesus's example, Christians can demonstrate strength in defending their beliefs, live humbly with forgiveness, and be faithful in their own commitments to God. All of Jesus's actions were to ultimately serve others according to God's will.
The document discusses how the five senses - sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch - relate to both physical and spiritual dimensions. Spiritually, sight allows us to see God's word and will, hearing guides us away from sin, taste indicates the nature of what we ingest, smell is important for how we present ourselves to God and others, and touch allows us to feel spiritual pain from sin. The physical and spiritual dimensions are interconnected, and our senses work when both dimensions are united for a state of harmony between body, mind and spirit.

Studying the Bible transforms people from earthly to spiritual minds so they can reflect Christ. The benefits of knowing God's word include truth, blessing, victory over sin and temptation, growth, power, and guidance. Regular Bible reading and study helps develop strong Christian character and spiritual fitness through developing the habit of daily reading, starting slow, and meditating on what is read. Personal Bible study is important lifelong work.

The document provides information about being filled with the Holy Spirit based on a church service. It discusses:
1) Jesus' command in Acts 1:8 to receive power from the Holy Spirit and be witnesses, sharing the gospel boldly everywhere.
2) How the Holy Spirit empowers Christians with boldness, wisdom, faith, and joy to effectively witness for Christ.
3) The need to be filled with the Holy Spirit to obey God and do his will in all relationships, including making disciples of others.
This document provides a summary of key Christian concepts related to works and salvation. It discusses several Bible passages and argues that salvation is by God's grace through faith alone, not by works. The key points are:
1) Salvation is 100% dependent on God's grace and 0% on our good works. We are not justified by observing the law but by faith alone.
2) Good works do not earn salvation, which is a free gift from God. If we pursue salvation through works, we lose God's gift.
3) When we come to faith, the Holy Spirit changes our attitude so that we now hate sin and are eager to do God's will.
4) As Christians
The document summarizes the key points from Romans 8 that support the eternal security of believers. It outlines 7 proofs for why a believer's salvation cannot be lost. These include: 1) Being freed from sin and death through the Holy Spirit. 2) The Spirit sanctifying and resurrecting believers. 3) Believers becoming children of God. 4) Afflictions sustaining hope through the Spirit's help. 5) Predestination to be like Christ. 6) God being for believers and giving his Son for them. 7) Nothing separating believers from God's love. The document analyzes each section to argue salvation is forever guaranteed by God's character and promises.
This commentary provides analysis of 2 Corinthians 7:1 across 3 passages from different scholars. The summaries are:
1) The passage exhorts believers to purify themselves from sin inside and out based on God's promises. They should strive for continued holiness through faith in God's help and out of reverence for him.
2) Believers should ask God for grace to purify themselves and avoid sinful acts and thoughts which defile. While God alone can purify the heart, believers must also resist sin through avoiding temptation.
3) The promises of God's presence and being our Father require believers to be pure in conduct and conversation. We must continually pursue righteousness and depend on God's
1) The document discusses understanding God's grace and living by grace rather than performance. It argues Christians often revert to a performance-based walk due to failing to understand continuous grace.
2) It explains that grace is God's free and unmerited favor shown to sinners. Holiness is also a gift of grace, as God sees believers as perfectly holy in Christ.
3) The document emphasizes that believers possess holiness in Christ before God, and through His grace are sanctified daily as the Holy Spirit transforms them into Christ's likeness.
This document discusses the difference between living by grace versus living by performance. It argues that while good works are important, they should come from a place of responding to God's grace rather than trying to earn God's favor. The document outlines how we are all in need of God's grace due to our sinful nature. It was only by God's grace that we can be saved through faith in Jesus, not by our own works. If we enter God's kingdom by grace, we must live in it by grace as well. Our motivation should be God's love and grace for us, not trying to fulfill requirements to gain blessings. True spiritual works flow from walking in God's grace, not to earn it. All of God
The Bible is very clear as to what our purpose in this life should be. Men in both the Old and New Testaments sought for and discovered life’s purpose. Solomon, the wisest man who ever lived, according to scripture, discovered the futility of life when it is lived only for this world. He gives these concluding remarks in the book of Ecclesiastes: 13 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil”. - Ecclesiastes 12:13-14.
The document discusses how true grace in Jesus brings sanctification for believers. It explains that salvation starts the process of sanctification, bringing a life of hope and holiness through reverence before God. It discusses what it means to live a holy life as a "grace walker", yielding to God so that duty becomes delight and grace abounds.
2013 Book of Mormon: Chapter 14 (Institute Lesson by hgellor)Leah Gellor
This document provides doctrinal teachings from 2 Nephi 31-33 regarding the doctrine of Christ and faith in Jesus Christ. It discusses that the doctrine of Christ leads to eternal life, the words of Christ and the Holy Ghost teach us what to do, and those who believe in Jesus Christ will also believe the words of Nephi. It then expands on key aspects of the doctrine of Christ, including faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism by immersion, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Baptism symbolizes repentance, submission to God's will, and being cleansed by Jesus' death and resurrection. It represents a commitment to living a new, righteous life. While baptism is an important act of faith, it does not alone ensure salvation. True salvation comes from repentance, living according to God's commands through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. For those unable to be baptized due to age or circumstance, God judges based on the condition of one's heart.
1) The document discusses the Christian's responsibility to have an obedient attitude and behavior, as encouraged in Philippians 2:12-13.
2) It says that many churches have lost their taste for the things of God, and encourages Christians to work to bring about their obedience to Christ.
3) Salvation is described as a three part process of justification, sanctification, and glorification, and that Christians have a role to play in the process of sanctification by allowing God to work in their lives and bringing about righteousness through their actions.

This document discusses the importance of being "in Christ" and experiencing the new birth. It emphasizes that only by being engrafted in Christ can one do great works, be made just, and live by faith. Being in Christ means one becomes a brand new person, with the old life and nature passed away. The new life in Christ brings redemption, God's presence and power, provision, and victory over sin and the enemy. It involves being born again by God's will rather than human will. To truly be in Christ requires renewing one's mind and walking in the Spirit daily.
14th march 2016 What is Goodness (in the fruit of the holy spirit)Thorn Group Pvt Ltd
Goodness is one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. It is a moral characteristic described as uprightness of heart and life that benefits others through acts like confronting sin, helping the poor, and praying for enemies. Goodness expresses God's nature and requires Christians to transmit His goodness to others through righteous deeds motivated by faith. Every good thing comes from God, so Christians must allow the Holy Spirit to direct them and share what they have learned from God's word and good works with others, so that people may glorify God.
Spiritual maturity is a process that begins with accepting Christ and living in obedience to God through studying his word. It requires choosing to learn from scripture, allowing your mind to be renewed, and obeying what you've learned. True maturity comes from constant practice in discerning right from wrong. While maturity takes time and mistakes will be made, God is the source of growth and will conform believers to Christ's image through surrender and learning.
This document provides the daily readings and reflections for a weeklong "Quiet Times" from January 9-13, 2012 with the theme of "Living Beyond the Comfort Zone". Each day focuses on a Bible passage and includes a question for reflection. The overall message is that true spiritual growth requires moving beyond superficial rituals and comforts to develop a heart of compassion and obedience to God through faith in Christ's salvation.
This document discusses the concept of humility based on several Bible passages. It makes three key points:
1) True humility involves having a low view of oneself and recognizing that all people have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. We are justified by faith in Christ, not by our own works.
2) Those who exalt themselves will be humbled by God, while those who humble themselves will be exalted. Christians should submit to God and to one another in humility.
3) Knowledge and a sense of having "arrived" spiritually can lead to pride; true wisdom comes from loving God rather than focusing on one's own understanding. Humility and obedience to God are needed for
This document discusses the role of the Holy Spirit in the life of Christians. It begins by asking questions about salvation and what it means to be "saved." It then examines several Bible passages about Jesus being the "true vine" and believers being branches that bear fruit. It explains that the Holy Spirit convicts people of sin, enables repentance and faith, and puts God's spirit within believers. The Holy Spirit aids Christian growth by producing love, joy, peace and other fruits. He also grants spiritual gifts to serve God and others. Overall, the document outlines the transformative work of the Holy Spirit in believers from conversion onwards.
Does God's grace end at the cross? Was the offer of salvation all there is to God's goodness? May it never be. God continues watching over his people and pouring out blessings on them. The challenge for Christians today is to recognize those blessings--and to appreciate them.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

14. 12Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. 14Do everything without complaining or arguing, 15so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe Philippians 2:12-15 (NIV)
15. 12 Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. 13 For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. 14 Do everything without complaining and arguing, 15 so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people. Philippians 2:12-15 (New Living Translation)
16. 12 -13What I'm getting at, friends, is that you should simply keep on doing what you've done from the beginning. When I was living among you, you lived in responsive obedience. Now that I'm separated from you, keep it up. Better yet, redouble your efforts. Be energetic in your life of salvation, reverent and sensitive before God. That energy is God's energy, an energy deep within you, God himself willing and working at what will give him the most pleasure. 14 -16Do everything readily and cheerfully—no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving Message into the night so I'll have good cause to be proud of you on the day that Christ returns. You'll be living proof that I didn't go to all this work for nothing. Philippians 2:12-15 (The Message)
