Desynchronization approaches in wireless sensor networks converge to time-division multiple access (TDMA) scheduling without requiring clock synchronization. This paper presents a novel framework for estimating the number of iterations required for convergence in a stochastic sense. Experimental results using sensor nodes and simulations demonstrate the stochastic model is typically within one standard deviation of observed convergence iterations, characterizing the process better than prior estimates.
