It’s called data center in a box, unified computing and dynamic computing. Cisco, our technology partner, calls its offering Unified Computing System (UCS), which is what Peak 10 has standardized on for its data centers. Whatever you call it, converged infrastructure (CI) is getting bigger by the day. The global CI market is expected to grow to nearly $34 billion by 2019, a CAGR of 24.1 percent.
One key to mastering a converged infrastructure is to deploy an extensible architecture. You can create domain-specific visibility through management packs.

How Converged Infrastructure Will Change IT Operations Management
Over the past decade, Enterprises have leveraged a shared service model to make IT more cost effective. The emergence of “Converged Infrastructure” and “Fabric-Based Infrastructure” will allow IT to offer purpose driven solutions rather than the function driven solutions of the past. To do this, IT will need to evolve towards more modular designs, rely more on open standards, and rethink their approach to management frameworks.
In this session you will learn:
How converged infrastructure is used to create purpose driven solutions
Why new operational challenges are faced as this new approach is used broadly
What changes need to occur to succeed with this new paradigm

SystemExplorer is a system simulation framework based upon the open-source gem5 simulation infrastructure. It includes a rich collection of hardware components such as ARM cores, interconnect, memories and memory controllers, IO devices - ethernet, PCIe, and other peripherals. In addition it provides support for run fully featured operating systems such as Linux and Android combined with pre-packaged filesystem images that contain real workloads and benchmarks for Smartphone, Server and High Performance Computing. In this talk I'll give an overview of ARM R&D's use of the SystemExplorer tool for workload directed architectural co-design. I will focus on how we are using it in combination with the Department of Energy's co-design center proxy applications to help evaluate and enable the ARM architecture to address the power-efficiency, performance, and resilience requirements of Exascale computing.

Why You Should Replace Windows 11 with Nitrux Linux 3.5.0 for enhanced perfor...SOFTTECHHUB
The choice of an operating system plays a pivotal role in shaping our computing experience. For decades, Microsoft's Windows has dominated the market, offering a familiar and widely adopted platform for personal and professional use. However, as technological advancements continue to push the boundaries of innovation, alternative operating systems have emerged, challenging the status quo and offering users a fresh perspective on computing.
One such alternative that has garnered significant attention and acclaim is Nitrux Linux 3.5.0, a sleek, powerful, and user-friendly Linux distribution that promises to redefine the way we interact with our devices. With its focus on performance, security, and customization, Nitrux Linux presents a compelling case for those seeking to break free from the constraints of proprietary software and embrace the freedom and flexibility of open-source computing.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
