The document presents a case study on a process control laboratory that utilizes a constructivist approach combining virtual, hands-on, and remote laboratories (TriLab) to maximize student learning. An intervention using a virtual pre-lab session was found to better prepare students and lead to improved learning outcomes compared to only using a manual. The TriLab model aligns with Kolb's experiential learning cycle and can enhance engineering education by accommodating different learning styles and bringing theory and practice together.
