Pedagogical Background, Constructivism Poor learning outcome of the laboratory session is mainly due to weak activation of the prehension dimension  before coming to the lab, hence the lab session turns into algorithmic and procedural following of the lab manual instead of actively constructing meaningful knowledge out of it.
