- MongoDB and Pure storage are an ideal pair in part because we have a shared vision Mongodb’s goal… Features like Document model with dynamic schemas, auto-sharding for scalability have made this goal a reality for developers using Mongodb…where their organizations realize an average savings of almost 70% vs. traditional big databases. Pure Storage has a very similar objective- to make it easy… 5 years ago Pure introduced the FlashArray- a 100% all flash SAN. Bock storage, accessible via iscsi or fiber channel. Not only was it fast, but it was simple to use, and included data reduction via dedupe and compression. This data reduction, which averaged 5 to 1 across all workloads, effectively reduced the usable cost of storage by the same factor of 5 to 1, which put it in the same cost range as mechanical disk, since then Customers across all industries are deploying flasharrays for databases and virtual infrastructure, and what we’ve seen 5 years later is pretty amazing: for every 250TB… So, mongodb and pure are not only making database and storage technology better- but we’re saving our customers significant money as well.
