A conjunction is a word used
to connect words, phrases, or
clauses.

3. EXAMPLES:
 Philippines and Indonesia are long-time allied
countries. [Connects words]

 Rozelle prepared the dinner, but Judy did not come.

5. COORDINATING CONJUNCTIONS
 Coordinating conjunctions are connectors used to join words
equal in rank.

Example:
A lot of great ideas, but nothing in this world is cheaper than a
good idea with no action.

6. CORRELATIVE CONJUNCTIONS
 Correlative conjunctions connect words or groups of words that
function as pairs.
not only … but also both … and
neither … either whether … or
either … or
Example:
Our grand business in life in not only to see what lies dimly at a
distance but also to do what clearly lies at hand.

7. SUBORDINATE CONJUNCTIONS
 Subordinate conjunctions connect dependent and independent clauses.
