The document discusses permissions in Alfresco. Alfresco has a sophisticated security model that defines fine-grained permissions. These permissions are bundled into permission groups for easier management. The five permission groups are consumer, contributor, editor, collaborator, and coordinator, each granting different permission levels. Permission groups determine the actions users can take on repository items and folders. Access control lists specify permissions on a per-folder and per-user basis through permission groups. The document provides examples of setting specific permission groups for different user authorities on sample marketing folders in a company repository.
This document provides an overview of permissions in SharePoint, including:
- There are three default permission groups (Full Control, Contribute, Reader) that are automatically set up when a site is created.
- SharePoint groups allow assigning permissions to a group of users rather than individual users, making management easier over time.
- Permissions can be inherited from the parent site or made unique by "breaking inheritance" for specific lists, folders, or documents.
- Active Directory groups are similar to SharePoint groups but are managed centrally rather than within individual sites.

The document describes a resource management tool (RMT) developed by Scopic to allow project supervisors to coordinate employee assignments based on skills and availability. The tool also coordinates internal trainings. An essential part is the employee profile module where employees input personal details. The task is to improve the usability of the tool, specifically the employee profile section. Recommendations include simplifying interactions, improving visual organization and accessibility, adding loading indicators, and streamlining filters and tables. Sketches are provided of redesigned profile and training tabs/pages.

Why does managing Permissions in OpenText Content Server have to be so hard! Well, it doesn't. Fastman Permissions Manager is the only product purpose built to view, manage, and administer permissions in OpenText Content Server.
Bottom line: without Permissions Manager your data in Content Server remains at risk of unauthorized access. With Permissions Manager you can mitigate that risk, reduce the operational cost of managing permissions, and ensure compliance with regulatory and business policy
Active Directory uses organizational units (OUs) to logically group objects like users and computers to facilitate administration. OUs act as containers that administrators can use to collectively manage the objects within them. To create an OU, an administrator opens Active Directory Users and Computers, right-clicks the domain or parent OU node, selects New > Organizational Unit, names the OU, and selects an option to protect it from accidental deletion. Properties of the new OU can then be configured.

Hand Rolled Applicative User ValidationCode KataPhilip Schwarz
Could you use a simple piece of Scala validation code (granted, a very simplistic one too!) that you can rewrite, now and again, to refresh your basic understanding of Applicative operators <*>, <*, *>?
The goal is not to write perfect code showcasing validation, but rather, to provide a small, rough-and ready exercise to reinforce your muscle-memory.
Despite its grandiose-sounding title, this deck consists of just three slides showing the Scala 3 code to be rewritten whenever the details of the operators begin to fade away.
The code is my rough and ready translation of a Haskell user-validation program found in a book called Finding Success (and Failure) in Haskell - Fall in love with applicative functors.

UI5con 2024 - Bring Your Own Design SystemPeter Muessig
How do you combine the OpenUI5/SAPUI5 programming model with a design system that makes its controls available as Web Components? Since OpenUI5/SAPUI5 1.120, the framework supports the integration of any Web Components. This makes it possible, for example, to natively embed own Web Components of your design system which are created with Stencil. The integration embeds the Web Components in a way that they can be used naturally in XMLViews, like with standard UI5 controls, and can be bound with data binding. Learn how you can also make use of the Web Components base class in OpenUI5/SAPUI5 to also integrate your Web Components and get inspired by the solution to generate a custom UI5 library providing the Web Components control wrappers for the native ones.
