3. INTRODUCTION
The determination of the end point of a
titration with the help of conductivity
measurements is called
Conductometric Titration.
The change in conductance of the
solution during the course of titration is
measured and plotted against the
volume of titrant.
4. TYPES OF CONDUCTOMETRIC
TITRATIONS
Some titrations which
may be studied
conductometrically
include:-
Neutralization Titration
Precipitation Titration
Complex forming
Titration
Oxidation - Reduction
Titration
5. NEUTRALIZATION
TITRATIONS
Also called Acid - Base Titrations
These can be categorised as follows:-
Strong Acid versus Strong Base
Strong Acid versus Weak Base
Weak Acid versus Strong Base
Weak Acid versus Weak Base
6. Strong Acid versus Strong Base
[H+Cl-] + [Na+OH-] [Na+Cl-] + H2O
7. Strong Acid versus Weak Base
HCl + NH4OH NH4Cl + H2O
8. Weak Acid versus Strong Base
CH3COOH + NaOH CH3COONa + H2O
9. Weak Acid versus Weak Base
CH3COOH + NH4OH CH3COONH4 + H2O
