Government policies
• 30 % subsidy on project cost from MNRE( Ministry of new and renewable
energy), Govt of India and 60 % in case of special category states.
• 20 % financial assistance from UNDP GEF project.
• Soft loan scheme from under MNRE-IREDA-UNIDO project with interest
rate of 7 % for a period of 7 years.
• 10% additional subsidy from UNDP-GEF project for cooling applications.
• 80 % tax depreciation for profit earning bodies which will account for 26
% of the project cost
