WHAT IS THE INTERNET?
The internet is a global computer network with loads of
information and communication facilities consisting of
interconnecting networks
DOMAINS AND IP ADDRESSES
 An IP address is a line of numbers the local
network uses to identify the device you are
using. This means they are all unique. For
example the name www.yahoo.com is just a
name for human users. Computers use
DNS(domain name service) to turn it into
"216.109.118.79“ which the computer can
understand.
PACKETS AND ROUTERS
 Data packets are groups of data broken down to
make it easier for computers to transfer them. Each
packet is given an IP address to go to and the IP
address of where it was from. Packets will get to
the destination network through the least busy
route at the time. The packet will travel to many
routers each one sending them through the least
busy route.
