This thesis explores how visualizing complex health data can aid clinicians in understanding patient risk factors through sensemaking theory and visualization techniques. The study presents findings from an exploratory research project that developed and tested a visual tool designed to facilitate this process, highlighting two key findings about the multifaceted nature of risk assessment and the tool's potential to externalize implicit clinical processes. The document discusses the methodology, design of the tool, and implications for improving clinical decision-making through enhanced information visualization.
