Wireless sensor network consists of thousand number of sensor nodes employed in a wide range of data gathering application such as environmental gathering, military applications etc. Each sensor node in WS N are powered by battery having limited energy so it is very difficult to replace there batteries for prolonged the network life time. Maximizing the network lifetime have been most important design goal for the network. In WSN channel fading and radio interference constitute a big dispute in design of energy efficient communication protocol. To reduce fading and energy consumption in WSN, MIMO MISO SISO scheme is employed but implement multiple antenna technology to sensor network is improbable because of the sensor node generally support a single antenna. Cooperative scheme are utilized in WSN by applying the collective nature of the sensor nodes to provide reliable communication links in order to lower the total energy consumption. In this paper, the cooperative technique are inspected and by comparing different cooperative techniques we can elect the best cooperative scheme for energy constrained WS N application.

New Adaptive Cooperative-MIMO for LTE Technologyijtsrd
Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) systems have been widely used in an area of wireless cellular communication system, providing the both increased capacity and reliability. However, the use of multiple antennas in mobile terminals may not be very practical due to limited space and other implementation issues. In this paper, cooperative MIMO has been used in a way to optimise the implementation and working of conventional MIMO systems in terms of BER and Spectral Efficiency while maintaining a minimal number of antennas on each handset. Cooperative MIMO with V-BLAST transmission over Rayleigh flat fading channels and amplify and forward protocol with one relay node for modulation techniques like BPSK, QPSK, QAM using various decoding techniques has been analysed. Decoding algorithms like ZF, MMSE and ML have been analysed with respect to their BER performances. This paper addresses the maximizing network lifetime problem in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) taking
into account the total Symbol Error rate (SER) at destination. Therefore, efficient power management is
needed for extend network lifetime. Our approach consists to provide the optimal transmission power
using the orthogonal multiple access channels between each sensor. In order to deeply study the

Enhancing Survivability, Lifetime, and Energy Efficiency of Wireless NetworksIJRES Journal
In this paper, we focus on improving wireless networks survivability in terms of increasing network lifetime and its energy efficiency via clustering the network in an efficient way. Clustering the network is the procedure of partitioning it into groups, where each of them is known as a cluster. Each cluster elects the station with the highest power to be a cluster head. The remaining stations follow the nearest cluster head. Instead of having each station sends its packets to a remote receiver, the cluster head receives packets from all stations within its cluster, aggregates them, and forwards the resulting packets to the remote receiver. The most significant benefit of clustering the network that we focus on is to decrease distances between sending and receiving stations, which in turn reduces the transmission energy. This reduction in the energy yields an increase in the network lifetime and its survivability.

THE PERFORMANCE OF CONVOLUTIONAL CODING BASED COOPERATIVE COMMUNICATION: RELAYIJCNCJournal
Wireless communication faces adversities due to noise, fading, and path loss. Multiple-Input MultipleOutput (MIMO) systems are used to overcome individual fading effect by employing transmit diversity. Duo to user single-antenna, Cooperation between at least two users is able to provide spatial diversity. This paper presents the evaluation of the performances of the Amplify and Forward (AF) cooperative system for different relay positions using several network topologies over Rayleigh and Rician fading channel. Furthermore, we present the performances of AF cooperative system with various power allocation. The results show that cooperative communication with convolutional coding shows an outperformance compared to the non-convolutional, which is a promising solution for high data-rate networks such as (WSN), Ad hoc, (IoT), and even mobile networks. When topologies are compared, the simulation shows that, linear topology offers the best BER performance, in contrast when the relay acts as source and the source take the relay place, the analysis result shows that, equilateral triangle topology has the best BER performance and stability, and the system performance with inter-user Rician fading channel is better than the performance of the system with inter-user Rayleigh fading channel.

Capacity Improvement of Cellular System Using Fractional Frequency Reuse (FFR)IJEEE

Energy Efficient Clustering and Routing in Mobile Wireless Sensor Networkijwmn
A critical need in Mobile Wireless Sensor Network (MWSN) is to achieve energy efficiency during routing
as the sensor nodes have scarce energy resource. The nodes’ mobility in MWSN poses a challenge to
design an energy efficient routing protocol. Clustering helps to achieve energy efficiency by reducing the
organization complexity overhead of the network which is proportional to the number of nodes in the
network. This paper proposes a novel hybrid multipath routing algorithm with an efficient clustering
technique. A node is selected as cluster head if it has high surplus energy, better transmission range and
least mobility. The Energy Aware (EA) selection mechanism and the Maximal Nodal Surplus Energy
estimation technique incorporated in this algorithm improves the energy performance during routing.
Simulation results can show that the proposed clustering and routing algorithm can scale well in dynamic

Performance Analysis of Antenna Selection Techniques in MIMO-OFDM System with...IJECEIAES
In this paper we propose a new MIMO-OFDM model in which we consider various antenna selection techniques like Bulk selection and Per-subcarrier selection etc. with hardware impairments such as non-linearties of amplifiers, quantization noise, phase noise and I-Q imbalance etc. As we know that the transceiver hardware impairments limit the channel capacity and the energy efficiency of MIMO-OFDM system, so we can not neglect the fundamental impacts of these hardware impairments {Kappa (0.05 0.1)} on the energy efficiency in the high SNR domain. Therefore we analyze the Energy Efficiency of Bulk and Per-subcarrier antenna selection techniques with or without hardware impairments. It has been observed that the energy efficiency decreases as the value of these hardware impairments increases. As we compared the Bulk antenna selection with the Per-subcarrier antenna selection scheme, the Per-subcarrier antenna selection requires more number of RF (radio frequency) chains and transmits power in comparison to the Bulk selection. Due to this, the Bulk antenna selection technique is more energy efficient than Per-subcarrier antenna selection.

ENERGY CONSUMPTION IMPROVEMENT OF TRADITIONAL CLUSTERING METHOD IN WIRELESS S...IJCNCJournal
In the traditional clustering routing protocol of wireless sensor network, LEACH protocol (Low Energy
Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) is considered to have many outstanding advantages in the implementation
of the hierarchy according to low energy adaptive cluster to collect and distribute the data to the base
station. The main objective of LEACH is: To prolong life time of the network, reduce the energy
consumption by each node, using the data concentration to reduce bulletins in the network. However, in the
case of large network, the distance from the nodes to the base station is very different. Therefore, the
energy consumption when becoming the host node is very different but LEACH is not based on the
remaining energy to choose the host node, which is based on the number of times to become the host node
in the previous rounds. This makes the nodes far away from the base station lose power sooner.
In this paper, we give a new routing protocol based on the LEACH protocol in order to improve operating
time of sensor network by considering energy issues and distance in selecting the cluster-head (CH), at that
time the nodes with high energy and near the base station (BS) will have a greater probability of becoming
the cluster-head than the those in far and with lower energy.
Energy saving in cooperative transmission using opportunistic protocol in MANETIOSR Journals
Abstract : In this thesis, we study the joint problems of cooperative link and diversity in A Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) with variable wireless channels. In MANET the wireless nodes are in group and infrastructure less in nature. The major problems faced by wireless communication in real time environment are that of interference and un-reliable communication links. Much research work has been done to overcome this by using various techniques. Cooperative communication and transmission side diversity in the network are the two of the techniques that help in reducing interference and communication link failures. We have also proposed a new technique to find the optimum route as a joint problem of the transmission power at the physical layer and the link selection at the network layer that incurs the minimum cost in terms of energy, no. of hops, available bandwidth and link quality (SNR), outage probability. Analytical results show that our cooperative transmission schemes (OMCTSP) achieves average energy saving of more than 80% than direct transmission. Beamforming with per antenna power constraint and transmit antenna selection ...sipij
In this paper, transmit beamforming and antenna selection techniques are presented for the Cooperative
Distributed Antenna System. Beamforming technique with minimum total weighted transmit power
satisfying threshold SINR and Per-Antenna Power constraints is formulated as a convex optimization
problem for the efficient performance of Distributed Antenna System (DAS). Antenna Selection technique is
implemented in this paper to select the optimum Remote Antenna Units from all the available ones. This
achieves the best compromise between capacity and system complexity. Dual polarized and Triple
Polarized systems are considered. Simulation results prove that by integrating Beamforming with DAS
enhances its performance. Also by using convex optimization in Antenna Selection enhances the
performance of multi polarized systems.
Energy Conservation in Wireless Sensor Networks Using Cluster-Based ApproachIJRES Journal
In a wireless networking environment, the network is comprised of sensor nodes and backbones are subsets of sensors or actuators that suffice for performing basic data communication operations. They are applied for energy efficient broadcasting. In a broadcasting (also known as data dissemination) task, a message is to be sent from one node, which could be a sink or an actuator, to all the sensors or all the actuators in the network. The goal is to minimize the number of rebroadcasts while attempting to deliver messages to all sensors or actuators. Neighbor detection and route discovery algorithms that consider a realistic physical layer are described. An adaptive broadcasting protocol without parameters suitable for delay tolerant networks is further discussed. In existing solutions for minimal energy broadcasting problem, nodes can adjust their transmission powers. Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are sets of many sensors that gather data and collaborate together. So, the procedures of broadcast or multicast are more important than traditional point-to-point communication in computer network. This paper focuses on broadcasting in structured WSNs. In such a kind, the procedure of network communications is easier than in unstructured WSNs. Thus, it will make an overview of Multi Point Relay (MPR) to show its weakness. Then define a cluster-based architecture for WSNs which is constructed using MPR. Next, provide a new broadcast algorithm based on the previous cluster architecture called 3B (Backbone Based Broadcasting). By the end, an illustration of 3B shows that it minimizes the energy consumption for accomplishing broadcast compared to MPR.
Energy efficient clustering in heterogeneousIJCNCJournal
Cluster head election is a key technique used to reduce energy consumption and enhancing the throughput
of wireless sensor networks. In this paper, a new energy efficient clustering (E2C) protocol for
heterogeneous wireless sensor networks is proposed. Cluster head is elected based on the predicted
residual energy of sensors, optimal probability of a sensor to become a cluster head, and its degree of
connectivity as the parameters. The probability threshold to compete for the role of cluster head is derived.
The probability threshold has been extended for multi-levels energy heterogeneity in the network. The

Improvement of crankshaft MAC protocol for wireless sensor networks: a simula...IJECEIAES
Due to the dramatic growth in the use of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) applications ranging from environment and habitat monitoring to tracking and surveillance, network research in WSN protocols has been very active in the last decade. With battery-powered sensors operating in unattended environments, energy conservation becomes the key technique for improving WSN lifetimes. WSN Medium Access Control (MAC) protocols address energy awareness and reduced duty cycles. The focus of this study is to investigate, through simulation, the effect of variations in various factors that influence the performance results of WSNs. Using MiXiM framework with OMNeT++ simulator, this simulation study proposes modifications in Crankshaft MAC protocol in order to improve its performance. The impact of duration and number of slots, degree of connectivity among the nodes, mobility speed and mobility update interval and also, the impact of sending data packets without preambles are investigated. Based on the simulation results, an improved version of the Crankshaft protocol for WSN is suggested and a comparative study of the performances of the original and improved protocol is presented. The results clearly indicate the superiority of the improved protocol over its original version.
An enhanced energy-efficient routing protocol for wireless sensor networkIJECEIAES
Recent few years, Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) has been an increasingly important technology that has been applied in almost all domains, even in complex environments where human activity is impossible. In WSN, various factors are impacted energy consumption, such as communication protocols, packet data transmission, and limited battery. So, the lifespan of the WSNs is limited. In this context, energy efficiency is the factor most attracted by many researchers. In this paper, we proposed a new improved LEACH routing protocol. This proposed protocol based on the current energy to select cluster-heads, and it uses a root cluster-head with more current energy and low distance to the sink to gather all data, then sends it to the sink. The simulation results in MATLAB confirmed that the proposed algorithm performed better than the conventional LEACH protocol, and increased the network lifetime in WSN.

As the traffic demand grows and the RF environment changes, the mobile network relies on techniques such as SFR in Heterogeneous Network (HetNet) to overcome capacity and link budget limitation to maintain user experience. Inter-Cell Interference (ICI) strongly affecting Signal-toInterference plus Noise Ratio (SINR) of active UEs, especially cell-edge users, which leads to a significant degradation in the total throughput. In this paper we evaluate the performance of SFR with HetNet system in order dealing with interferences. Simulation result shows that the power ratio control in SFR HetNet system doesn’t have much effect on total achieved capacity for overall cell.
The
proposed E2C protocol is simulated in MATLAB. Results obtained in the simulationshowthat performance
of the proposed E2Cprotocol is betterthan stable election protocol (SEP), and distributed energy efficient

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.

ABSTRACT
Wireless sensor network consists of thousand number of sensor nodes employed in a wide range of data
gathering application such as environmental gathering, military applications etc. Each sensor node in WS
N are powered by battery having limited energy so it is very difficult to replace there batteries for
prolonged the network life time. Maximizing the network lifetime have been most important design goal for
the network. In WSN channel fading and radio interference constitute a big dispute in design of energy
efficient communication protocol. To reduce fading and energy consumption in WSN, MIMO MISO SISO
scheme is employed but implement multiple antenna technology to sensor network is improbable because of
the sensor node generally support a single antenna. Cooperative scheme are utilized in WSN by applying
the collective nature of the sensor nodes to provide reliable communication links in order to lower the total
energy consumption. In this paper, the cooperative technique are inspected and by comparing different
cooperative techniques we can elect the best cooperative scheme for energy constrained WS N application.

1. INTRODUCTION
For most application sensor nodes depends on battery for their power supply hence battery decay
may have a great impact on the overall network performance. Rather of using a contend approach
such as in traditional wireless network for energy conservation, sensor nodes are supposed to
cooperate to prolonged the network life time[2][3]. Multiple sensor nodes cooperate to transmit
and receive and such a configuration is known as cooperative technique. This technique reduce
both fading and transmission energy. Cooperative technique [1] can be classified as cooperative
MIMO, MISO, SISO and cooperative relay. In a cooperative relay technique, network uses the
neighbor nodes to cooperate the source by transmitting the source information to the destination
for achieving spatial diversity. Thus the conclusion is that system performance is improved and
less transmission energy is required. Multi-antenna system have been studied exclusively

to sensor Network is impractical .A cooperative MIMO scheme can be constructed if we allow
individual single antenna node to cooperate on information transmission and reception.
Cooperative MIMO [4] technique aid exploits the diversity gain in order to reduce energy
consumption. In this paper we inspected the energy consumption of cooperative MIMO and
cooperative relay [6]. By comparing these two techniques we can conclude that cooperative
MIMO perform better than the cooperative relay but under certain condition cooperative relay is
better than the cooperative MIMO. When some information has to be transmitted from source to
destination the efficient solution is depend on the position sensor nodes. If the sensor nodes are
present in the middle means at equal distance from source and destination cooperative relay is
preferred but for long distance between transmitter and receiver cooperative MIMO is best
solution.

In fig.1 cooperative nodes are cooperate with the source node by transmitting source information
to other clusters in the network and finally transmit it to the destination. Nodes other than
cooperative are in sleep mode. Fig.2 represents the cooperative relay where cooperative node are
present at the middle and cooperate with source node by transmitting its information to the
destination. With the same diversity gain MIMO performance is always higher than the
cooperative relay.

2. ENERGY CONSUMPTION MODEL
2.1 Non –cooperative communication system
For energy calculation of cooperative system we used the energy model with same parameter as
in [11]. Let us consider a non-cooperative MIMO system with Nt transmit and Mr received
antennas, respectively. The total power consumption of non-cooperative RF system based on two
components: circuit power consumption (Pcir) and power consumption of the power amplifier (Pa
mp).

2.2. Cooperative MIMO System
The extra energy of the native cooperative data exchange is dependent on the number of
cooperative antennas and also on local inter-node distance between two nodes at both Tx and Rx
side. In case of cooperative MIMO, if we want to transmit Nb bits from source to destination.
Then source must firstly broadcast transmit bits to Nt-1 cooperative nodes. Based on the SISO
non-cooperative model energy consumption for local data exchange phase is calculated as ECoopTx.
At the receiver cluster Mr-1 cooperative nodes firstly receive MIMO modulated symbols quantize
one STBC symbol to Nsb bits and the retransmit their quantize bits to respectively to the
destination node using un-coded SISO 16-QAM modulation. Therefore transmission in
cooperative MIMO takes place in two communication phases: one is data exchange phase and
other one is MIMO transmission phase. The total energy consumption of cooperative MIMO
technique is

2.3 Cooperative Relay System
For the cooperative relay system total energy consumption is the sum of energy consumption of
each transmission phase. So the total energy consumption of relay system is given as
(8)

3. SIMULATION RESULT
The circuit consumption of the cooperative relay scheme will be lower than cooperative MIMO at
shorter distance because cooperative MIMO needed extra circuit energy consumption. In
cooperative relay the distance between destination and relay node are shorter, so that for ensuring
the same receiver SNR less transmission energy than MIMO scheme is required. Cooperative
MIMO technique needs less required SNR At distance d=400m, 30% energy can be saved by
using cooperative MIMO scheme when Compared with the cooperative relay.
In fig.5 when we consider three transmission nodes at distance d= 400m, 42% energy can be
saved by using cooperative MIMO scheme in comparison with the cooperative relay scheme. A
cooperative MIMO network in comparison with cooperative relay is better not only in terms of
energy consumption but also transmission delay as well.

4. CONCLUSIONS
Cooperative scheme contribute agreeable assistance for WSN when temporal and antenna
diversity can be exploited to reduce fading as well as transmission energy consumption. Relay
scheme are less efficient than the cooperative MIMO in terms of energy consumption at longer
distance. For the same SNR relay technique performance is bad as compare to cooperative
MIMO. But advantage of relay over cooperative MIMO is that relay technique are not affected by
time synchronization error. The performance of relay is better as compare to the cooperative
MIMO when transmission synchronization error become significant. Performance and energy
consumption comparison with cooperative MIMO with data aggregation will be investigated in
future work. Therefore performance of cooperative MIMO is better. The subsequent figure in this
paper represent the total energy to transmit 106
bits with error rate requirement FER= 10-3
source
sensor node S to a destination node D.
The total distance between cooperative nodes is dm= 6m and distance between source and relay
sensor nodes is dsr=d/3. Fig.4 shows the energy consumption of cooperative MIMO technique in
comparison with cooperative relay. When we consider two transmissions node at longer distance
energy consumption of cooperative MIMO is lower due to the fact that cooperative MIMO needs
less required SNR.
