Coca-Cola was created in 1886 in Atlanta, Georgia by John Pemberton and was first sold at a pharmacy. Through advertising in newspapers and magazines and giving out coupons for free drinks, Coca-Cola grew to be sold in every state by 1895. The company had a tremendous impact on Georgia by providing many jobs and increasing tourism to its Atlanta factory. While always growing, Coca-Cola faced challenges of outgrowing its facilities in Atlanta and had to build larger buildings. The company transports its products throughout the country and internationally using trucks, ships from Savannah ports, and aircraft.
