- This presentation is targeted at the MTDC operations team for their internal infrastructure connectivity needs vs the Sales Engineer team that work with client builds in their cages. Please reference the CommScope “Sell Through” presentation for that audience. As the MTDCs build their data halls in a building or a campus environment, they need inbuilding network infrastructure and OSP solutions. By working with CommScope we can provide a one-stop shop for their best in class inbuilding network cabling and OSP cabling needs.

- And while much of the focus and spend on the DC is around such things as the supply of primary and backup power, networking and storage equipment, physical and network security…… The network cabling infrastructure is critical to ensure these are connected and able to support the bandwidth and latency requirements required by end users.

- In many ways you can compare the human body to the DC The Brain is the Computing Power and Storage = Servers , Switchs and Storage in the DC The Heart is the engine that keeps the body going, much like the The Power Plant in the DC The Stomach is like the content = the Carrier and Content Connections The skin protects all the vital organs and veins = the Security perimeter and Processes The Cardiovacular System is the transport system much like the Power, Cooling and Data Transfer Infrastructure
- Just as arteries are needed to connect the heart to vital organs, so is cabling infrastructure necessary to connect IT equipment – servers, switches, storage, etc Just like keeping your heart and arteries strong by exercise, you need to exercise good design practices in your DC by continually maintaining a robust cabling infrastructure.
- CommScope’s end to end cabling infrastructure solutions can support the 1’s and 0’s in your network, just like arteries provide transport of blood throughout the body. Both are critical for the operation and survival of the entity or of the whole.
- The infrastructure challenge for the MTDC Operations Team grows as multiple customers move in to the MTDC facility – each with their own unique set of requirements and overall network needs. Some could be global and require connectivity between multiple locations, potentially including some of their own existing data centers on their facilities. Others may require cloud connectivity at multiple locations as well as connectivity with multiple carriers. And others may have one or two locations that hosts all of their DC needs. The important part is that the infrastructure must be flexible, resilient and able to scale to meet these differing requirements.
