Current news
• Governor Scott has asked the FL Department
of Education (FLDOE) to review Common Core
State Standards.
• The FLDOE has held three public hearings and
heard from more than 7,000 people.
• Commissioner Pam Stewart will issue a report
about Common Core in November.
• Florida will begin selecting an assessment to
measure Common Core State Standards in late
2013 or early 2014.

Standards define the “what” should be learned, not “how” curriculum needs to be taught.
