Many Europeans came to North America in the 1600s seeking religious freedom, wealth, and opportunity, despite the dangerous transatlantic voyage. They traveled for months in cramped and unsanitary ships with little food or clean water, and sickness often spread rapidly among the passengers. Thousands of Africans also made the journey, but were kidnapped and forced into slavery. Both indentured servants and African captives faced an uncertain future through forced labor in the colonies.
Covers the exploratory and settlement expeditions of Leif Erikson, Christopher Columbus, Hernando de Soto, Henry Hudson, and Samuel de Champlain. Concludes with the exploratory expeditions of Sir Walter Raleigh, and the founding and failure of the Roanoke settlement.
African Americans made an immeasurable contribution to the wealth and strength of the United States of America. From cotton fields to battlefields African Americans gave their all to a country that did not value them nor embrace them as partners and brothers. I wanted to take some time and revisit the great work and effort put forth by African Americans when America was still young and in need of vitality. We are grateful for the founding fathers who came together and framed the constitution of the United States at a time when the nation was divided and in search of its identity. We should equally be grateful for the African slaves and black troops who came together with courage, strength, and dedication to defend a nation that did not see them as true citizens. While the founding fathers were building America's political foundation, African Americans were building America's economic foundation. The labor force provided by African Americans was the catalyst to a strong US economy. African Americans were the chief contributors to a dynamic US economy. they need to be commended and honored for ages to come. America should be forever grateful for African Americans. This slide presentation is my way of honoring the memory of the African slaves who paved the way for our well being through the sacrifice of their bodies.
Covers key concepts in the expansion of the North American colonies, including the Columbian Exchange, the Middle Passage, the dynamics of slave plantations, indentured servitude, and mercantilism.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
