Critical section problem in operating system.MOHIT DADU
The critical section problem refers to ensuring that at most one process can execute its critical section, a code segment that accesses shared resources, at any given time. There are three requirements for a correct solution: mutual exclusion, meaning no two processes can be in their critical section simultaneously; progress, ensuring a process can enter its critical section if it wants; and bounded waiting, placing a limit on how long a process may wait to enter the critical section. Early attempts to solve this using flags or a turn variable were incorrect as they did not guarantee all three requirements.

This is our last Outlook for 2014 and almost brings our celebration of our 80th year in business to an end. In February we will be sending out a special anniversary edition of Outlook which will be more like a “mini history” of the CMV Group’s story so far. Interestingly, the whole process has caused us to reflect on the business in a way we might not have ordinarily done…like “What’s made us successful?”… “Where could have we done better?”... “How can we improve in the future?”... maybe even how we can reduce the size of the filing cabinet entitled, “ideas never to be attempted again!”. Ultimately, however, it can probably all be distilled down to the culture of our business. After all, our company culture determines who we attract, more importantly, who stays with the company to do the “heavy lifting” every day in every one of our business units.

Hi Colin
I must say I’m disappointed (for us) as you’re probably the principle reason we’ve remained
as BCFA members for this long.
You’ve done a brilliant job in turning round a somewhat moribund organization into a
thriving relevant cause for the Industry. Well done. You’re successor will have a tough job.
I’m sure we’ll speak before you go but in the meantime good luck.

the task in trying to improve or take the BCFA further on.
Colin, please keep in touch, and hopefully I will see you around

Dear Colin,
Thank you for your recent email.
The last eight years have gone by very quickly, your hard work and management has
successfully steered the BCFA through difficult times.
I found this quote from a famous Scottish Businessman - Andrew Carnegie:
‘Do your duty and a little more and the future will take care of itself’.
Which in this case is very appropriate.
Good luck and health for the future.

Hi Colin
So this is somewhatthe 'end of an era'. Thank you so much for all the hard work and dedication you've put into
the BCFA , indeed your presence in the industryas a whole will be sorely missed.
We are all very lucky to have enjoyed the privilege of working with and being associated with some excellent
people in this business - manyof whom we are proud to call friends.
Like you, I am staring retirementin the face, so it is very much a time of evaluation and indeed change - I know a
bit of how you mightfeel in that regard
I also appreciate the difficulties you musthave gone through in the recentpastwith your wife's illness - noteasy,
but keep the spirits up and enjoy the time together.
My every good wish Colin, embrace the future and make every day count !
