MANAGING
DIRECTORS' REPORT
But we don’t operate in a vacuum, we are all
bound together through the wider community.
Accordingly, we will be changing our “two peaks”
philosophy to “three peaks”, formally recognising
what we have always known, that building a
better community and a fairer society has always
been at the heart of our thinking. Through the
CMV Foundation and in more recent years our
CMV Staff Foundation, we have been able to
help many organisations and individuals. But the
scale of the requests and the issues we see is as
daunting as it is confronting. A really good reason
to continue doing what we’re doing!
Speaking of the community, this year’s Novita
Convoy for Kids was a great success. Nothing
can prepare you for the look of joy and happiness
on the faces of many of the kids involved in the
recent Convoy. Approximately 75 trucks and buses
supported the event which was also attended by
about 140 special kids. CMV Group was delighted
to again be the major sponsor. I think it made
all of us sit back and realise how some of the
simple things in life can mean so much. One truck
driver interviewed, was almost as excited as his
passenger! Both of us want to sincerely thank all
the drivers, owners, Novita volunteers and CMV
staff who made the event possible.
We’ve always believed that the attitude and
competence of our staff are critical to our ongoing
success. So it was very rewarding to hear about
the results of the National Hino Skills competition
held in Sydney recently. Ryan Macauley and
Andrew Harris took out the Gold award for Parts
Interpreter and Sales respectively. Also Cameron
Hefford from Lexus of Adelaide was runner up in
Paul and Michael Crawford
Joint Managing Directors
the National Master Technician competition. And
from CMI Eastside, another national winner, this
time in the field of Service Advisor, Terrena Ferrow
was rewarded with a study tour to Japan!
It was exciting to see the foundations for our new
SCT Volvo/Mack/UD site at Wingfield get laid.
This long awaited development will give the right
level of facilities both for customers and staff.
Completion is due next November 2015. Stay
tuned for more updates.
On behalf of the staff and directors of CMV
Group we want to thank you for your ongoing
support. We are always interested in your
feedback. Just ring us on 08 8238 5481 or email
us on feedback@cmv.com.au. Finally can we wish
you a Happy Christmas and all the best for 2015.
MANAGING DIRECTORS' REPORT
It is with great sadness that we begin this edition
of Outlook paying tribute to three highly respected
members of the CMV family who recently passed
away.
Tony Glynn worked at Hallam Truck Centre in both
Fuso and Kenworth Truck Sales roles over four
years and very sadly passed away in November
after a hard fought battle with cancer, aged 47.
Tony had an amazing attitude throughout his
battle and retired in July to spend time with his
partner Sophie and sons Luke and Joshua to
whom we pass on our sincere condolences.
Jamie Rule worked as a parts interpreter and
sales representative at CMI Toyota over the span
of eight years, and was an integral part of that
teams' success. Jamie was very popular, both at
work and with his outside interests. To his partner
Naomi, and daughter Matilda, we extend our
sincere sympathy.
Rob Johnston was to celebrate 7 years with
the CMV Group in December, having initially
commenced at our Mornington Contract site.
During his time with us he took on bigger
challenges and more responsibilities. At the
time of his death Rob was the CMV Contracts
Operations Manager for Murray Goulburn. Our
deepest sympathies go to his wife Salleigh and
children Caitlyn, Kyle and Darcy as well as his
CMV workmates.
We feel for the families and friends following
the loss of these hard working, family men who
contributed both to the company and to the wider
community. Our thoughts continue to be with you
at this difficult time.
This is our last Outlook for 2014 and almost brings
our celebration of our 80th year in business to
an end. In February we will be sending out a
special anniversary edition of Outlook which will
be more like a “mini history” of the CMV Group’s
story so far. Interestingly, the whole process has
caused us to reflect on the business in a way we
might not have ordinarily done…like “What’s
made us successful?”… “Where could have we
done better?”... “How can we improve in the
future?”... maybe even how we can reduce the
size of the filing cabinet entitled, “ideas never
to be attempted again!”. Ultimately, however, it
can probably all be distilled down to the culture
of our business. After all, our company culture
determines who we attract, more importantly,
who stays with the company to do the “heavy
lifting” every day in every one of our business
units. Our “twin peaks” policy of equal concern
for both staff and customers has served us well.
After all, our company culture
determines who we attract, more
importantly, who stays

MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
Hello to you all.
This morning I was out on my daily walk.
At around 6.15am I was on the corner of Frome
Street and Carrington Street in the city. This is
normally a busy intersection, but not at 6.15am.
As I waited for the lights to change, I saw a car
approaching from the east on Carrington and
another approaching from the South on Frome.
The lights were green for the car on Carrington.
Oblivious to the red light, the car from the
south, driven by a young lady, sailed through the
intersection narrowly missing the other car. The
look of horror on the guys face in the other car is
still with me.
The young lady was texting on her mobile phone.
MESSAGE FROM
THE CHAIRMAN
C
David Simmons
Chairman
In my view it is time to take a stand and lead
by example. We sell many great motor vehicles.
Most are fitted with Bluetooth systems and the
like which means they are communication hubs
in their own right. Great for playing music and
the radio, great for GPS systems and great for
entertainment in the back seats for the kids…
but not great for emails and texting. From today,
I am just going to turn my phone off when I get
into my car. There is nothing that is so important
that could possibly justify being involved in a
serious accident due to inattention. Will you
join me?
Get with it old man I can hear some of you
saying; living in the 70’s! This is the connected
world…always “on”, always reachable. Facebook,
LinkedIn, SMS, email, Skype, Twitter! Don’t
get me wrong. I love the connected world and
the resources that are now available anytime,
anywhere. I still have the Funk and Wagnalls
Encyclopedia set that I purchased for my kids; too
expensive to throw away but now totally useless.
Wikipedia rules.
Along a similar theme, I am constantly amazed
at the knowledge that my 4-year-old grandson
has. There we were on a beach on the Gold Coast.
My grandson goes by the name of Brock. I go by
the name of Papa. We went down to the beach
because we saw an excavator extending a flow of
water from the mainland to the sea. Brock loves
excavators. The guy driving the excavator finished
his work and moved on.
Brock spent nearly an hour collapsing the sides
of the channel and generally having a great time.
Eventually I said to him that it was time to go
home. No way he explained, for this was the
Mariana Trench and we were not going anywhere
anytime soon. The Mariana Trench? I googled
it on my phone and was informed that it is the
deepest part of the worlds oceans located in the
Western Pacific! Excuse me Brock, how do you
know about the Mariana Trench? His response
was that everyone knows about it! I later found
out it was from a TV show but the fact that he
was able to connect that trench with the one we
were playing in was in my mind quite remarkable.
Anyway, it really was time to return home. I told
Brock that we had to go because I needed to go
to the toilet. “Forget about it Papa, just go behind
a tree so we can keep playing in the Mariana
Trench,” was his recommendation!
Brock is part of the connected world and the
information that he will have access to as he
grows up will be truly remarkable. Will I be able
to convince him to turn his phone off when he
drives his first car? I hope so.
Can I convince you?
Until next time.
Brock is part of the connected world
and the information that he will have
access to as he grows up will be truly
remarkable. Will I be able to convince
him to turn his phone off when he
drives his first car? I hope so

Regular readers of CMV Outlook would have
noted the Group’s engaged focus on “Safety in
the Work Place” throughout the businesses. The
following initiative is a case study from one of our
divisions demonstrating how entrenched safety
has become in our processes to help minimise
risks to our employees, customers and suppliers.
The CMV Truck & Bus Contracts division, led
by Jeff Tyzack, have been working very hard
improving their work health and safety procedures
and documentation. Matt Smith and Katrina
Lastman have produced some outstanding
systems. Jeff explains the process;
“Beginning in July, we embarked on a project
aimed at standardising and centralising the
work health and safety procedures throughout
the contracts divisions. Our focus was to provide
simple documents and processes, so as to not
make safety too laborious. By doing this, we
also hoped to make staff transitions between
workshops a lot smoother, as well as more
streamlined at a management level. Toolbox
meetings are now undertaken at the beginning
of each month, with work health and safety being
a key topic of discussion.
A folder containing all required documentation for
the meetings has been provided to all workshops,
and includes inspection checklists for site,
workshop and vans, as well as instructions for
how to run the meeting, and a ‘meeting minutes’
document to complete during the meeting. The
safe work practices have been developed with
the help of the Victorian Automobile Chamber
of Commerce and offer simple identification of
hazards, required personal protection equipment,
and safe work practice steps in a one page
document. We have provided each workshop
with a folder containing all safe work practices,
as well as laminated versions for high risk tasks/
equipment. As part of the monthly toolbox
meeting, employees are required to review safe
work practices. We have implemented a job
safety analysis, a generic document outlining
potential hazards and reference control measures
that we apply to prevent any of these occurring.
Each employee must read and sign the job safety
analysis before working on site.
A form for reporting hazards/potential hazards
in the workshop has also been implemented to
ensure that documentation of hazards is carried
out and a proper follow-through is undertaken.
High risk tasks such as working at heights, using
forklifts and hoists require pre-operational safety
checks to be undertaken and we have provided
workshops with booklets for such tasks. A
personalised emergency procedures guide has
also been provided to each workshop, outlining

what to do in an emergency situation, and who to
contact. To supplement this we are in the process
of implementing a procedure for working alone,
and are trialling a monitored man down system,
which will provide peace of mind for workers
when they are working in isolation.
The onus is on all of us to ensure that safety
in the workplace is taken seriously and we are
encouraging all of our staff to raise their concerns
and to be proactive in addressing potential safety
issues before injuries occur. We are committed to
ensuring our workshops are safe for all workers,
and are pleased that our work health and safety
project is off the ground and running.”
On a different note the HR team will over the
next couple of months be rolling out a revised
CMV Talent Management process which is
an overhaul of our current Development Plan
program. This exciting initiative will incorporate
a new format for job descriptions directly linked
to the performance review, KPI’s and goal setting
process which will now all take place in the
early months of the calendar year. Training for
all managers will take place in December and
January with all staff introduced to the program in
early 2015 in time for rollout in Q1&Q2 next year.

CMV Staff Foundation South
Australia
Congratulations to all those staff members
contributing to the CMV Staff Foundation in
South Australia! Over the last few months your
contributions have made an incredible difference
in the community.
You have helped Blind Sport SA continue its
Gym Club program for an additional 2 years, which
encourages and assists blind and vision impaired
kids to take part in sports, both competitive and
recreational.
You have provided the Cora Barclay Centre with
four ipads which are being used in their early
intervention program, helping children aged
1-4 years with developing audition, speech and
language skills.
You have assisted HeartKids of SA Inc, providing
emergency provisions to some fifteen SA families
when their child is required to go to the Royal
Melbourne Children’s Hospital for heart surgery.
You can now view further details on all the
donations and charities assisted on the CMV
Group website anytime, cmv.com.au.
At one of the Staff Foundation meetings we
were also lucky enough to have a visit from
Ian Steele, the founder of the fantastic “KickStart
for Kids” charity. It was a shock to hear that all
over Adelaide kids are going to school without
breakfast and sometimes lunch as well. Ian
and his volunteers provide breakfast, lunch and
mentoring for disadvantaged school kids. Thanks
to your contributions, the CMV Staff Foundation
in South Australia contributed $12,000 to KickStart
for Kids, which will sponsor ten schools in
Adelaide within this program for one whole year.

Teen Challenge Bus Handover
The CMV Foundation recently supported Teen
Challenge, a charity providing programs and
mentors to disadvantaged youth, by assisting
in the purchase of two Toyota Hiace vans. Bob
and Marj Ahrens, who are strong supporters of
Teen Challenge celebrated a special wedding
anniversary by donating the vans. A magnificent
gesture! We wish Teen Challenge all the very best
with the programs which they run.
Adelaide Botanic Gardens
Foundation
The Adelaide Botanic Gardens recently
approached the CMV Foundation for financial
support for a research and field officer to work in
the SA South Seed Conservation Centre. So far
over 175 million seeds have been collected and
stored, including seeds from nearly 60% of the
states threatened flora. The seeds will be used to
establish long-term seed conservation collections,
and to develop germination and storage protocols
for each species. CMV is pleased to be a
supporter of this important programme.
Technical Aid to the Disabled
The TADSA are a charity whose aim is to help
and improve the quality of life of people with
disabilities. They sent a submission to the CMV
Foundation requesting support to purchase
e-readers which they provide to clients through
a loan system. These e-readers have an adaptive
switch, allowing them to be easily operatated
and we were happy to be able to assist in their
purchase.

Convoy for Kids returns with
the help of the CMV Group!
To celebrate the CMV Group’s 80th birthday,
Managing Directors Michael and Paul Crawford
alongside numerous staff and customers assisted
Novita Children’s Services in bringing back the
Convoy for Kids after a five year hiatus. The
owners of more than 60 trucks united in a bid to
raise funds for children living with disibilities, and
certainly placed many a smile on the faces of their
precious cargo.
Held on November 2 in the Southern Parklands,
families joined in the festivities enjoying a day
filled with entertainment, live performances, Mack
The Transporter from the Disney movie ‘Cars’ and
a spectacular show and shine.
A big thank you to Darryl Smith from South
Central Trucks Mack/ UD and Jono Crawford
from Kenworth DAF Adelaide for their additional
support in ensuring the day went smoothly.

James Crawford
Many of you know that CMV is
a family company, managed by
3, third generation Crawford
brothers. What you may not be
aware of is that we are 3 of
7 siblings, with 2 sisters and
2 other brothers. While all
are shareholders and keenly
interested in CMV, they work
in other spheres. The eldest sibling is James Crawford,
who has spent his working life dedicated to a career
in International Law, as a university academic, author,
barrister and more recently, adviser to governments and
corporations. James is rated very highly in his field due
to his knowledge of International Law, his experience
and common sense mixed with a sound business approach.
He has been based in Cambridge, UK for the last 22 years
and has made regular trips to Australia for family and
professional interests.
You may be wondering why we are telling this story in this
newsletter dominated by trucks, cars and agriculture. On
6th of November 2014, James was one of five candidates
to be voted by representatives of 193 member nations
of the United Nations to join the 14 other judges of the
International Court of Justice (ICJ). The Court is based
in The Hague, Netherlands and the appointment is for
a 9 year term. James was nominated by the Australian
government and is only the second Australian to become
a judge of the ICJ since its establishment in 1945.
We are very proud of James’ achievements and his
appointment to the court, and we thought you too would
be interested to know the link, if his name is mentioned in
the media from time to time. CMV is unlikely to need his
advice on matters of International Law at his level, but we
often discuss matters with him and his views are always
worth taking on board!

2014 has been a busy year for us. We had our
annual pallet sale on the 6th of September,
which was well attended with great sales. The
dealership was very well represented on the day
with parts displays, supplier booths, face painting
and balloons for the kids. We were also lucky
enough to have a very diverse truck display, which
included two trucks from the CMV collection that
were in Melbourne for the Group’s 80th birthday
celebrations.

General Manager’s Comments
As 2014 draws to a close we reflect on a
challenging year that has seen an increase in
competitiveness across new and used truck sales,
parts and service, as the market and the economy
have steadied.
The Hallam and Bayswater Truck Centres we have
met these challenges by continuing to develop
a team of people with a total focus on customer
service and meeting our customers’ needs. We
have had excellent support from our suppliers
Kenworth, DAF and Fuso and we look forward to
a very exciting 2015 as they bring new products to
the marketplace.
Congratulations must go to our Sales Coordinator,
Belinda Campbell, who was recently awarded our
Employee of the Year. Belinda is a valued member
of our team and her customer service is always
outstanding. Congratulations Belinda.
On behalf of the entire team at both Hallam and
Bayswater Truck Centres, we would like to thank
all our customers for their valued business this
year. Have a very Merry Christmas and a happy,
healthy, and prosperous New Year.

FUSO
For the 13th year running we held our annual FUSO
golf day. With 80 players and an excellent speaker
in Dougie Hawkins (Western Bulldogs legend), it
was an entertaining event for our customers.
FUSO ran a number of very successful programs
in 2014, with the free comprehensive insurance
well received by our customers. Current offers
including smartcover and extended warranty
provide us with the ability to support our
customers with their new truck purchase. FUSO
has also introduced a new model Canter to their
line-up branded the “Loadmaster”. It’s a half steel,
half aluminium drop side tray to help improve the
customer’s payload while at an affordable price.
We look forward to an even more successful year
in 2015 with great FUSO products and programs.

PACCAR Sales Department
The 2014 truck market has been quieter on
the truck sales front with both local and
national markets lower than in 2013. Enquiry
has started to pick up during the second half
and hopefully this is a sign that consumer
confidence is mostly positive.
Assisting this increased activity are some
new options available in the Kenworth range,
including the release of the Paccar MX 13
engine in the T409 models. This exciting new
engine will be available with 460 and 510
HP. In addition, all the bonneted Kenworth
models now have an upgraded cab and
a new ergonomically-designed business
class interior. The Kenworth K200 active cab
entry automated step system (ACE) is now
available as an option in this market leading
model.
In April we held our annual Kenworth/DAF
golf day. Over one hundred customers,
suppliers and staff played an Ambrose event
with the overall winners being the RC
Asphalt Hamelex White team.
With 2015 just around the corner we
understand that we will see some new DAF
models in the New Year and we certainly look
forward to this exciting new product and the
opportunities they will create.

ahead, the enthusiasm for making the change to

Bayswater Truck Centre
A big congratulations to Terry Hobson on winning
the Bayswater Truck Centre employee of the year
award. Terry has displayed the characteristics that
encompass an employee of the year in his role
of leading hand. Terry has been instrumental in
providing leadership and a great role model to our
younger technicians. Well done Terry!
We would also like to acknowledge the efforts
of Dean Wright, who won the Bayswater Truck
Centre apprentice of the year award. Dean is an
adult apprentice, has shown great commitment
and dedication to his role and will be signed off
as a qualified technician at the end of 2014.
There are also three new staff members at
Bayswater Truck Centre. Glen Schubert has joined
us as a service adviser, Brock Deakin who is a
qualified fitter and turner, joins us as a trade
assistant and Robert Richardson has commenced
in our parts department. We wish our new
colleagues all the best in their new roles and long
rewarding careers with Bayswater Truck Centre
and the CMV Group.
Over the past few months we have been busy
processing some large Kenworth national fleet
deliveries for Toll Liquids and BP Regional. This
has kept both our service and parts departments
very busy and has built some strong relationships
with our Kenworth national fleet department as
well as Toll and BP locally. We look forward to
continuing this strong support and relationship
with our national fleet clients.
Glenn Booth
Branch Manager
We also sponsored the Beyond Blue Foundation
with a silent auction raising $800, and were
very fortunate to have the CMV Staff Foundation
donate $2000. One of our customers Craig
Membrey, addressed the group about the effects
of depression and anxiety, having lost his son
Rowan to suicide in March 2011. Craig, we greatly
appreciate your willingness to address us all
during the event and telling your sons very moving
and personal story.
Early next year we will be seeing a major change
for AllRig, being replaced by PACCAR Parts as the
core brand with the sub brands DAF, Kenworth
and TRP. This is a significant and exciting change
that will bring new promotions and activity from
our primary parts supplier.
Wayne Radford
Service Department
The second half of 2014 saw the introduction of
the Paccar MX-13 engine into the Kenworth T409.
The MX-13’s advanced engineering is designed
to deliver outstanding performance, reliability,
fuel efficiency and ultimately a lower cost of
ownership.
In this exciting time, Hallam Truck Centre
understands the need to up-skill our service
team, so they can consistently provide the level
of service our customers require. The introduction
of the MX engine to the range will see American
truck buyers exposed to the new electronic world
and a change of driving style.
We have appointed Leon Figurek to the new
position of technical services supervisor. Leon
is a DAF master technician and is ideally suited
to guide us through this development stage.
Leon is also running in-house courses for the
sales, service and parts staff on the DAF and
PACCAR MX engine systems and developing
a driver trainer program so the owners can
obtain maximum advantage of the MX fuel
economy and longer service intervals. Combine
this personalised training with our new service
packages and we are looking forward to offering
a new level of service that will be the platform

The MX engine will appeal to certain segments
of the market in which it provides customers
an alternative to the Cummins offering which,
powers the majority of Kenworth trucks. As
an authorised Cummins Service Dealer, we
have trained Cummins technicians to service

warranty where necessary.
We would also like to congratulate Nathan Hind,
our apprentice of the year who has set a great
example as a young technician in the making.

Halliburton Kenworth
Deliveries
Founded in 1919, Halliburton is one of the
world’s largest providers of products and
services to the energy industry. With more
than 80,000 employees in approximately 80
countries, Halliburton has operated in Australia
for many decades, during which time it has
always operated Kenworth trucks. Recently
Halliburton took delivery of 19 Kenworth T650
prime movers. The T650 is a legendary tough
bush truck, renowned for its durability in the
harshest Australian conditions. As Kenworth’s
slogan says “Australian Made, World’s Best”.
Halliburton’s new Kenworth’s are now all based in
remote outback South Australia and Queensland
– servicing the rapidly expanding natural gas
industry in the Cooper and Eromanga basins.
Kenworth Daf Adelaide
DAF Powers On
At the start of 2014, DAF Australia set us an
aggressive target for new truck sales for the
calendar year. Justin Faull, our DAF Sales
Manager, has been doing a great job and achieved
his DAF target for new trucks in October, with two
months to spare. Well done Justin!
In late October Justin participated in a customer
trip to the Netherlands, and visited DAF’s factory
in Eindhoven. Justin and his customers were
very impressed with the tour. DAF is the 2nd
best-selling heavy duty truck in Western Europe,
behind Mercedes and is regularly market leader
in the competitive UK market.
We recently delivered three DAF CF85 4x2 prime
movers to G J Golder Bloodstock Transport.
Goldners was established in 1945 and transport
champion race horses around Australia. The
attached photo shows Charles Jennings from
Goldners and Justin Faull during the handover
of one of their new DAF trucks.
2014 is fast drawing to a close. We should deliver
around 180 new Kenworth and DAF trucks this
year, which will be a good result in fairly flat
economic conditions. This year has seen many
changes within our business – some minor, some
major. Probably our most significant development
this year was our transition to a dealership that
solely represents the Paccar brands – Kenworth
and DAF. We are now very much focussed on the
business opportunities surrounding these brands
– whether it be supplying quality new or used
trucks, competitive finance, performing Cummins
engine work or supporting our Kenworth and DAF
customers via our service and parts operations.
In 2015 we will continue to work hard at
delivering the best level of support possible to
our Kenworth and DAF customers.

New Name, Same Company
You may have seen some newly installed
Kenworth and DAF signage on the fascia of our
building. Or you may have visited our new website
at www.kenworthdafadelaide.com.au. We have
adopted a new trading name of “Kenworth
DAF Adelaide”. Our new trading name is in line
with Kenworth and DAF’s national branding
strategy. We have now joined the other re-named
dealerships - namely Kenworth DAF Melbourne
and Kenworth DAF WA in this transition. Our
customers will start to see our invoices and
statements with our new trading name upon
them, in coming months.

Our longstanding customers Peter and

recently celebrated 50 years in business.
Peter is the 3rd generation of his family to be
involved in transport, and now has the fourth
and fifth generations of the family working
alongside him. Peter has previously been
inducted in the Road Transport Hall of Fame
in Alice Springs. He first started running to
Darwin in 1974 after Cyclone Tracey. This was
the start of an association hauling road trains
on the Adelaide – Darwin run that lasts to this
day. Fifty years running a transport business
on some of the most demanding routes in
Australia, gives you an indication of the
strength of Peter and Lorraine’s commitment
to their business, their customers and their
many employees.

history captured on the side of the new Lusty
B-Double tippers. Both sides of the A and B
trailers have a digital printed timeline of Swan’s
super spreading history including the track
driven spreader which is being bag fed by hand.
The truck has many custom features including
factory paint, diesel tanks wrapped in stainless,
oversize Vortex air cleaners and chromed alloy
wheels which makes the appearance even more
impressive.
The combination has had a huge amount of
interest including people visiting Cavan especially
to get a photo of this impressive looking unit.
We are sure with the Kenworth product we'll
continue to serve the Swan family well.

A few weeks later it was time for the annual
Riverland Field Days. This year they were held
over the weekend and attendance was well up.
We had a range of Kenworth and DAF trucks on
display, as well as an extensive range of parts
and accessories for sale. We sold many Engel
and Waeco fridges, as well as accessories such
as Lightforce driving lights. If you’re ever after a
sharp price on such auto accessories, please give
our parts department a call.
Swan Brothers
On the 27th of October Kenworth DAF Adelaide
delivered a striking new T909 Kenworth prime
mover to long time customers, Swan Brothers. The
T909 joins the ranks alongside a T900 and K104.
Swan Brothers has been operating as a family
owned business in Meningie, South Australia
since 1955 and will reach 60 years in business
next year. The name Swan Brothers has become
synonymous in the area for farming and fertiliser
contracting over this period.

Service Department
We have appointed a new service manager,
Shane McEvoy. Shane will be already well known
to many of our customers, due to his many years
with Cavpower and his involvement with CAT’s
on-highway truck business. Shane brings a wealth
of experience to the role and is committed to
ensuring that our service department provides the
highest level of service to our customers.
Most Kenworth trucks have a Cummins engine, so
we are one of Cummins closest business partners.
Our service department has many Cummins
trained technicians and a full range of Cummins
tooling. We stock an extensive range of Cummins
parts ranging from filters to complete engines.
We are very keen to perform all types of repair
or servicing work on Cummins engines, for our
customers – whether it be warranty or retail work.
We can also undertake Cummins work on any
brand of truck or bus.
What a Surprise!
Recently one of our customers Rebecca Fatchen
and her partner, Jason Rayner, travelled to the
Kenworth factory in Melbourne to take delivery
of her new Kenworth T409 SAR. Unbeknownst
to Rebecca, Jason had secretly arranged to
propose to her at the handover. Red roses were
strategically hidden until the last moment.
Rebecca and Jason are now officially engaged!
Our congratulations to them both.

Our Berri parts outlet recently hosted a customer

Three semi-automatic rivet machines have
now replaced the previous ‘out-sourced

been the biggest noticeable improvement.

Rubbing is Racing
During the month of October, SCT Mack and UD
held a staff function at a local karting track. The
weather was perfect, with over 40 staff arriving,
many with helmets and racing shoes which was
an indication of some determined competitors.
The qualifying laps were followed by a pizza
and chicken wing dinner (lap times were much
slower after that!),and then on to serious racing
for the top ten shoot out final. They say rubbing
is racing and if that is the case SCT were doing
plenty of racing. Apologies must go to the staff
that were continually relocating safety tyres all
night. Congratulations to Jordan Blyfield 1st,
Jono Wigzell 2nd and Daniel Grose 3rd. Older
competitors believed the tare weight had a key
impact on the final outcome!

To celebrate the release of Volvo’s new model

trailers to prove their capabilities, and the day
was a great success with all three customers
placing orders for these new trucks.
South Central Trucks also held their own customer

Volvo for test driving around Adelaide. Many new

it was a fantastic two days with many new truck

Lifeline Broken Hill
Recently CMI Hino had the pleasure of assisting
a very worthy charity in Broken Hill.
Jono Crawford from sister company, CMV Truck
Sales called into Lifeline whilst up visiting long-

Radford. Gary is well known for his work in the
Broken Hill community and is also the patron of
Lifeline.
The small truck that Lifeline had been using to

Series could fit the bill.
With the assistance of the CMV Foundation
we were able to assist in the supply of a new
and more suitable truck that can continue the
excellent work that Lifeline does assisting people
struggling with depression.

The order for seven trucks included four Hino GH
cab chassis plus one each of the Hino FD, FE and
FM cab chassis. The trucks were fitted with a

These trucks join a significant fleet already
operating for Toxfree in Launceston Tasmania.
Our thanks go to Tony Burrows, Clint Hartley,
Mark Perkins and everyone at Toxfree for the
opportunity to once again partner with their
business and Bucher Municipal to get this new
equipment on the road and working.
New Look Office Area
The team at CMI Hino Melbourne have happily
settled into their new offices, following
renovations to improve the environment for both
staff and customers. Sales staff now have a
dedicated Hino sales area where customers can
drop in and enjoy a coffee in our new café area.
The work carried out included repainting the
whole building and replacing all of the carpet.
While this could have been potentially very
disruptive to staff and customers, the whole
team at Laverton worked together to get this work
done with almost no disruption in business hours.
Well done to everyone involved!
Dean Hanson joins the team!
The sales team at CMI Hino Melbourne are pleased
to welcome Dean Hanson to the group. Dean joins
the team after moving his family from Perth across
to Melbourne and is a great addition to the sales
team lead by Sales Manager, Leo Morabito.
Dean is no stranger to the Hino brand or indeed
Hino’s parent company Toyota, having previously
sold Hino trucks to many satisfied customers in his
home town of Perth and also having considerable
experience selling Toyota cars. We wish Dean
a very warm welcome to the CMI Hino family
and know he will offer great service to our many
valued clients.
Toxfree expands the Hino Fleet
Toxfree are a leading Australian waste
management organisation. Founded in the mining

company providing innovative waste solutions to a
broad range of customers across Australia.
CMI Hino has a long and proud history of
partnering with Toxfree to provide them with the

CMV Truck Bus Laverton – Volvo
25 Years of Service Celebrated
A quarter of a century is a long time. These
days it’s rare for anyone to give that length of
service to only one employer. At CMV Truck
Bus Laverton, we are very privileged to have
three such dedicated and loyal employees in our
parts department who all recently reached the
incredible milestone of 25 years dedicated service.
Bones Nardella, Vince Magnano and John
Athanasiadis all recently achieved 25 years’
service to CMV. The trio joined CMV at what
was the founding of CMV Truck Bus, marked
by the takeover of the then Volvo dealership in
Campbellfield by CMV back in 1989. All three have
been instrumental in the growth achieved by CMV
Truck Bus since that time. Their 25th anniversary
gave us a great opportunity to celebrate their
collective 75 years of service and thank each of
them for their efforts over the past 25 years.
Bus Team Grows!
Our Volvo Bus team has received a significant
boost following a restructure and the appointment
of a new sales manager. After almost sixteen
years as Volvo Bus Sales Manager, John Louder
has been promoted to the role of Volvo bus
branch manager, responsible for all aspects of bus
operations at Laverton including our specialised
bus service centre.
The position of bus sales manager vacated
by John will be filled by Darren Cottle. Darren
comes to the role with many years of experience
both working at CMV in a variety of roles and
in particular a significant amount of experience
in Victoria’s bus industry. Well known to most if
not all bus operators around Victoria, I am sure
Darren will be warmly welcomed into his new
role. On behalf of everyone at Laverton Volvo we
congratulate both Darren and John on their new
appointments and look forward to even greater
success from our bus department.

Jason and Christine Carty. They are farmers from

When the time came for a new bus we introduced
them to the B7R / Marcopolo, and after a closer
inspection and test drive, Jason and Christine
decided that was the bus of their choice. A new
colour scheme and the addition of a custom built
alloy bullbar together with some other options
produced an eye catching school charter coach.
Delivery day was special for their family and also
for Salesman, Darren Cottle. As he entered the
farm driveway he was greeted by their children
who had kindly made a ceremonial ribbon from

officially cut the ribbon to allow the bus to drive

Paul Seager and Alan Craig have also been very
busy on the UD sales front resulting in Di Carlo
Civil Construction taking delivery of their first UD
Quon GW420.
The chassis has been fitted with a specialist body
by Ditch Witch, to be used in the drainage division
of their business. After the first few weeks, Mr
Robert Di Carlo told us that his staff were very
impressed with the power of the 420HP engine
and similarly with the vehicles automated manual
transmission. The UD Escot 5 AMT has only two
pedals and any member of his staff can drive the
vehicle. Prior to this, only one member of staff
could drive a constant mesh gearbox.
Mr. Di Carlo also remarked that he was impressed
with the vehicle delivery and service support
received from CMV Truck Bus Laverton UD, and
has indicated that he intends to purchase more
UD Trucks for his business in the near future.

We are sad to announce that Paul Schulz, our long

Drivers Fuel Challenge
Through small changes in behaviour, truck drivers
can make a big difference to fuel consumption
and save significant money for their haulage
company. This was demonstrated by Grant
Morice of Fonterra, who successfully won
both the Australian title of most fuel efficient
driver, followed by the Asia Pacific title. He then
competed with 22 other drivers from around the
globe for the title of “The World’s Most Fuel
Efficient Driver”. Grant normally drives a Volvo
FM, doing “on-farm” milk collection work in North
Western Tasmania. Christian Scheiflinger from
Austria, thanks to well-planned driving, took home
1st place in the world finals in The Drivers’ Fuel
Challenge 2014, which were held in Gothenburg
Sweden in September.
All the 23 finalists possess a great skill. You
have to adapt to traffic and know how to use the
enormous power of a fully loaded truck in motion.
A knowledgeable driver knows how he or she
should use the truck's weight advantageously,
says Andrew Low, Driver Development Manager
at Volvo Trucks and responsible for The Drivers'
Fuel Challenge competition track.
For an average-sized haulage firm, fuel accounts
for just over one-third of operational costs. Volvo
Trucks' own figures show that a fuel-efficient
driver can save up to ten per cent in reduced fuel
consumption, which in the long run means big
savings for a trucking company. The Drivers’ Fuel
Challenge is one of many ways Volvo Trucks looks
to put the spotlight on just how much difference
the driver (and truck) can actually make.
Grant Morice at the Driver Fuel Challenge
It's about creating an awareness of how much
difference each individual driver can actually
make. The Drivers' Fuel Challenge is one way for
us to contribute to this. Fuel-efficient driving is
something that all drivers can learn, but it takes
time and hard work every day, says Vesna Jovic,
Project Manager for the Drivers' Fuel Challenge
at Volvo Trucks.
Fuel-efficient driving in three
steps.
1. Adapt to traffic
In fuel-efficient driving, the driver needs to learn
to read and adapt to the traffic situation. One
must drive as smoothly and evenly as possible -
all the time.
2. Stay ahead
The driver must always be prepared for
unexpected events - the car in front can brake or
a bike can emerge from around the next corner.
A fuel-efficient driver is a driver who is attentive
and who constantly stays one step ahead of other
traffic users.
3. Get to know your truck
To get the maximum out of a truck you have to
know it and all its functions as well as possible.
Good knowledge of how your truck works and
about what kind of driving is required in different
situations is a huge step towards reducing fuel
consumption.

International AFL Footy comes
to Montrose
As proud partner sponsors of the Montrose
Football Club, our UD sales team were fortunate
enough to attend the AFL International Series
match between New Zealand and the USA. The
Kiwis performed their inspiring Haka which was a
great spectacle. The USA stood their ground and
both teams played with a lot of feeling.

Congratulations to Chris Besim and Blayde
Deeker who have both started their 2nd year as
qualified diesel technicians. It's a proud feeling
to watch staff grow over the three years it takes
to become qualified, but as all good technicians
know you never stop learning and I’m pleased to
see both young men succeed. Chris has taken up
the opportunity to enrol in Volvo’s key technician
program while Blayde is now working in our
afternoon shift team. I look forward to watching
our two new apprentices Luke and Sam develop
into excellent technicians.

UD Trucks
UD sales have had great support from DGL and
Border Express with both companies placing
multiple fleet orders recently. Auslift Crane and
Access Hire, a privately owned company with over
30 years experience in the industry, also recently
took delivery of their new Condor PK17 280 Tilt and
Slide. Owner Charlie Surace who took time to drive
the truck before handing it over to his company
driver could not be happier. The tilt tray provides
the ability to float a large range of their boom lifts
and scissor lifts, extending their customer service
and enhancing the image of the business.
During the month of November the UD sales
team travelled to Japan, taking along two of our
customers to compete in a driver challenge and

Mack Trucks
Dandenong Mack sales have been growing
brilliantly over the past few months. We have
delivered a range of new Mack models to some
major fleets in the area, including four new
Trident tippers to Dandy Pre Mix, a couple of
great looking Metroliner Agi’s to Vic Mix as well
as ongoing support to the Burdett Group, Peter
Stoitse Transport and Doolans Heavy Haulage.
Thanks to Mack Truck’s national fleet department,
we also delivered a mix of Granite and Trident
models to the Hanson company.
Anthony Russell recently hosted a group of VIP

CMV Truck Bus – Albury
Parts Staff Introduction
A big welcome to Robert (Rob) Howe who has
joined us in our busy parts department. Rob has
previous experience as a heavy diesel mechanic
serving with the Australian Defence Force before
deciding on a career in parts. He has been a parts
interpreter for the past two years within the
automotive industry. Enjoying a smooth transition,
Rob has been a great fit for the team.
Largest Single Order!
CMV Truck Bus Albury/Wodonga competed an
on-time delivery of twenty seven Volvo FM 450
prime movers for Ron Finemore Transport (RFT)
which were each painted in the Woolworths livery.
These trucks will be based at the Logic Centre
Barnawartha, 15kms south of our dealership, and
will go to work transporting fast moving consumer
goods between the Barnawartha distribution
centre and Canberra on a daily basis. RFT are one
of the largest high profile transport companies
based on the VIC/NSW border and now operate
over eighty Volvo prime movers in their fleet.
Volvo Drive Day
While it looked like a Swedish winter’s day at
our dealership, the unseasonal weather didn’t
stop our customers turning out to test drive our
new Volvo truck range complete with fully loaded
trailers. From the smallest FE, right through to
the ‘king of the road’, the mighty FH700; our
customers had plenty of choices to road-test over
two days. Rain, hail and cold winds were offset by
hot food, warm jackets, gas heaters, great trucks
and outstanding hospitality. The Volvo Drive Day
attracted over fifty customers and guests, and was
supported by VGA driver trainers from Brisbane.
It was a real pleasure to be able to show off our
new range of Volvo trucks and has generated
plenty of interest.

Service Staff Introduction
Our service department achieved record labour
sales during the first quarter this year, with CMV
Truck Bus Albury/Wodonga managing to build
on that success month after month, smashing
record after record. In order to service this huge
growth we have added three employees to the
business. Marko Kmecko (transferred from CMV
TB Laverton), Sony Johnson (transferred from
SCT Adelaide) and Mark Griffin (apprentice)
have all joined our team. I would like to take this
opportunity to welcome them all to a very busy
and dedicated workshop.
At the CMV Group 80th Anniversary Dinner held
in Melbourne earlier this year, Corey Power
was awarded Apprentice Of The Year and Tom
Neeves Employee Of The Year. We have also
seen Bryn Rogers graduate from his fast tracked
apprenticeship scheme and undertake a senior
onsite servicing role based at Kiewa supporting
the Murray Goulburn fleet. Matthew Kelly,
Nathan Kersten and Lucy Robbins also managed
to compete in the Commercial Club Classic 11km

Murray Goulburn
Murray Goulburn has recently introduced two
new high productivity combinations to its fleet
of farm milk collection vehicles, one at 20m and
one at 26m overall length. Both vehicle types are
delivering large capacity increases, and in turn
operational efficiencies. These vehicles are fitted
with the latest in safety systems not only on the
Volvo prime mover, but also on the trailers. CMV
Contracts provide full maintenance services to the
whole Murray Goulburn fleet which includes the
prime movers, which are now predominately Volvo
FM’s, and also the tanker trailer fleet including
the complex milk pumping and flow meter
systems that are fitted. The CMV Contracts team
are operating out of seven different locations
throughout Victoria, providing around the clock
support to Murray Goulburn, 365 days a year.

good support to the operation. The team at CMV

about the new product under the guidance of
Jesse Wilson. This operation is responsible for
the maintenance of the Woolworths Queensland
transport fleet which also consists of over
130 semi-trailers. Congratulations to Jesse on
accepting the position of site supervisor for CMV
Contracts Brisbane. Jesse has been a technician
with CMV Contracts Brisbane for the past two
years and is looking forward to the future that
lies ahead.
Fonterra
Fonterra Cobden received a new Tieman 20m
B-double bulk milk collection tanker in mid-August
this year which is coupled to a new Volvo FM500
prime mover. The stainless steel tankers have
introduced the first internationally approved
and certified hydraulic drive centrifugal milk
pump designed to improve hygiene. The inducer
impeller and liquid ring prime pump delivers more
consistent flow rates between truck and vat, is
quieter and eliminates the need for the truck to
go through the CIP cleaning system process which
saves on fuel costs. Tieman’s have also developed
a new patent pending food grade vent disc,
machined hose stoppers along with lightweight
aluminium side under-run extrusions to improve
safety for other motorists. This new vehicle/
trailer combination will operate at weights of up
to 60 tonne when fully loaded with milk. The new
features on the prime mover and trailers not only
add to the operational efficiency for Fonterra, but
also will make the maintenance task for our CMV
Contracts team more efficient as well.

New Look Yaris Now Available!
The new-look Yaris has arrived at CMI Toyota and
from the number of orders we’ve already taken,
this exciting compact vehicle is now more popular
than ever! The new look Yaris delivers bold
new styling and is now exclusively a five door
model. The exterior is far more assertive than
the previous design, while the interior features
improved levels of quality finish. Technology
features have been enhanced across the range,
with all grades now fitted with a reversing
camera, cruise control, newly designed 15-inch
wheels and a 6.1-inch display audio screen that
provides touch, drag and flick operations familiar
to users of smartphones or tablets.
Revised grade variants see the new look Yaris

2014 has been another successful year for CMI
Toyota. I would like to thank all our staff across
all departments for their invaluable contribution
throughout the year. Toyota has remained the
number one manufacturer in the Australian
market place, and I am pleased to report that
CMI Toyota is also number one in our PMA (prime
market area). In fact at the time of writing this
report, our year to date market share is in excess
of 22% which is a standout result in such a highly
competitive marketplace.
Both CMI Toyota and Toyota Australia always
strive to deliver an outstanding customer
experience and I know 2015 will see us work
together to ensure our clients enjoy every aspect
of owning a Toyota!
To all our customers, suppliers, staff, families and
friends, I wish you all a very merry Christmas and
a fantastic 2015.
2014 Annual Fleet Function
During October we hosted our annual CMI Toyota
fleet function, an event by which we take the
opportunity to network with, and thank our loyal
fleet clients for their ongoing support of our
brand. This year’s function was held at a brand
new bar called Pirie Street Co. Social Club and
after last year’s positive feedback, it was once
again held as an informal stand up, ‘sun downer’
afternoon with drinks and canapés. The new
stand up format ensures everyone who attends
has an opportunity to not only catch up with their
respective CMI Account Manager, but also meet
other clients.
This year, guests were entertained by the very
humorous Mick Colliss who shared with us his
story of desire to one day “play for Australia”.

CMI Toyota were once again proud to sponsor

entrants, including the CMI Toyota team to enjoy
more favourable running conditions.
In usual City-Bay fashion the fun run event featured
three distance options; the three, six or twelve

team opting to attempt the full twelve kilometres,
starting from King William Street in the City.

National Tree Day
National Tree Day is a Toyota Australia
sponsorship initiative which CMI Toyota has been
involved with and executing at a local level for
more than ten years. It is one of our favourite
community events and this year our West Terrace
branch joined forces with the Adelaide Secondary
School of English to assist with some of their tree

The students at the school recognised the need
to increase the number of trees across the back
of the oval, which in years to come will provide
much needed shade for students. Of course, CMI
Toyota’s national tree day wouldn’t be complete

CMI SOUTHside
Since the last edition of Outlook magazine
there have been many exciting milestones
and achievements at our Southside dealership
including awards won, graduations, retirements
and new staff appointments with each one
building on the feeling of enthusiasm and
friendship we strive for in our business.
Business is never without a challenge, but I’m
pleased to say the last few months have been
very good and I would like to thank our staff
and loyal customers for continuing to make
our Christies Beach dealership a success. The
dealership continues to support many local
clubs in the area and we enjoy being part of this
wonderful community.
I’d like to thank all our staff and customers on a
great 2014 and wish everyone the very best for
the New Year.
Toyota National Skills Contest
Congratulations to Chris Newman, one of our
technicians who recently won the Toyota regional
skills final held locally here in South Australia.
Since then he has competed in the Toyota
National Skills contest in Sydney.
This is an outstanding achievement, with Chris
having now earned the chance to win a trip to
Japan.
Leading the way at CMI
Southside
Ben Willoughby, Nathan Kadow and Aaron
Tartoosie recently completed the nationally
recognised CMV leadership course. Aaron and
Ben are currently assistant managers waiting
for an opportunity to one day lead teams of their
own, while Nathan is our workshop controller
who oversees 17 technicians. I have no doubt
this training will help them continue to develop in
leadership roles for CMI Toyota.
Troy Emin our parts manager has also this year
completed the Certificate 4 in Workplace Health
and Safety. I know the knowledge gained will help
Troy become a stronger leader at Southside as
we continue to develop the culture of ‘safety first’
within our workplace.
Retirements and Maternity
Leave
We have seen two retirements here at Southside
in the last few months. On 12th August Les Nash
retired after 32 years with CMI Toyota. He is now
enjoying helping his daughter and her family on
their new farm in the Adelaide Hills. Also on 12th
September Dennis Bartlet retired after many years
with CMI Southside. Dennis and his wife Kathy
have retired to the country and are enjoying life
in the Clare Valley. We’re quite sure they will be
enjoying a few glasses of Clare’s finest export.
Also leaving us for the short term is new vehicle
salesperson, Leigh Taylor. Leigh has taken 12
months maternity leave to have her baby and we
wish her all the best.
Welcome to the Team!
Some new staff recently joined our dealership,
and like a good sports team we have been able
to recruit a mix of youth and experience! We
welcome both Mercedes Bridgewater and Matt
Borlace who join us as sales trainees, and if
enthusiasm counts for anything, I am confident
they will have a long and prosperous career with
us. Peter True and Grant O’Toole also joined our
new vehicle team with Peter in sales and Grant
looking after finance and insurance. Both come to
us with a wealth of experience and have made a
positive start to their CMI careers.
We also welcome Ashleigh Elliott to the
Southside service team. Ashleigh joins us as
our afternoon receptionist and with no previous
experience in the motor industry is quickly
learning the ropes. Her positive and respectful
manner plus her enthusiasm to learn will no
doubt enable her to surpass the customer service
standards that are expected from within our
Southside service department.
Last but not least Chris Holmes commenced with
us as a casual yard hand but within 3 months
convinced us to take him on full time and he’s
now very much part of our team.
Success at Suzuki
We have also made a change at Suzuki with
our used car manager, Brook West taking on the
challenge of new vehicle sales manager. The
Suzuki brand is experiencing rapid growth and is
thriving in the southern area, having one of the
largest market shares in the country. I was lucky
enough to travel to Melbourne recently for the

8 years in business, and there are 9 original staff
members who have been with the business since
CMI took over in 2006. They are Adrian Dick,
Mathew Cairns, Steve Thomson, Pino Silvestri,
Anita Braica-Michael, Diana Brooks, Michael

The business has grown rapidly over the past
8 years and we stock more cars now than ever

used to be able to park our own cars in front of
the showroom. Gone are those days. I must give
a HUGE thankyou to the team of ‘originals’ and
of course to everyone that has joined us along
the journey as you have all, in your own way,

Our current vehicle display at West Lakes

CMI PORTside
One of our favourite events each year is National
School Tree Day. This year we supported Kilkenny
Primary School with their tree planting initiative.
Kilkenny Primary is a great example of how a
school can provide an educational environment
and the resources needed to nurture and look
after our environment for future generations and
we were only too happy to assist by donating
trees and shrubs to the cause.
Our Adelaide Crows member BBQ night is always
very popular. This year we had Patrick Dangerfield
and Jared Petrenko come to the dealership
where they willingly answered what can only be
described as some ‘curly questions’ from the many
supporters who turned up on the night. It was
terrific to see our showroom full of people, even if
they weren’t there to see our cars!
Congratulations to Daniel Banks who was
awarded CMI Portside’s Employee Of The Year
recently at our annual staff dinner. Daniel is our
stock controller and he works very hard to find us
the cars we need to deliver in order to service our
ever growing customer base. It is not uncommon
to hear the following statement uttered around
the dealership, “No problems! We’ll get the car
you want…We have Daniel”.

Lexus clients at the AFL Grand Final luncheon
held at Adelaide Oval. I couldn’t imagine a more
appropriate and iconic South Australian venue for
this event which saw guests enjoy fine food and
wine plus entertainment by 2013 X-Factor runner
up, Taylor Henderson.

Wes is a very considerate, passionate and loyal
person who has a great understanding of what
makes our dealership tick. He has been a great
support to all of us over the years and we are all
better people for knowing and working with him.
He is also a very private person and a “closet
petrol head” with a classic Mustang in his garage,
and a Chrysler 300C V8 as his daily drive. Thank
you Wes.
STAFF BIRTHS
Congratulations to Sam and Nicky Fiala on the new
arrival of their fourth child, born in October. Noah
Zavier is a brother for Tahlia, Anthony and Sienna.
Congratulations must also go to Matthew
Johansen and his partner, Stacee Edwards on the
safe arrival of Spencer Blake in September, a little
brother for Indyanah.
We wish both families the required amount of
sleep possible and the very best of luck for the
future.

CMV AUTOMOTIVE
AIn November, we said farewell to a much loved
and respected work colleague, Wes Kurtz. Wes
has decided to pack up his calculator and retire
from both Adelaide City and the CMV Group, after
completing “2 tours of duty” within the group.
Wes joined CMV in 1976, first working at Volvo
Trucks at Gepps Cross. After his initial 2 years he
moved over to Kenworth Trucks at Regency Park
where he first met Michael Crawford. From there
Wes moved into the CMV head office located
in Flinders street at the time, where he worked
closely with both Jim Crawford and Keith Skopal.
Wes then left CMV in 1984, working with the
Metropolitan Fire Services, the law firm Fisher
Jeffries and the not for profit corporation Bedford
Industries, all offering their own enjoyable
challenges and experiences.
Wes then re-joined the CMV Group in August
2002 as the company accountant for Adelaide City
until the day of his retirement in November. Wes
is now planning life after work, with some travel
on the cards before knocking off the list of ‘things
to do’ around his home and spending some more
time with his family.
All the best for your retirement Wes!
