Meet the Team...
We are the only vehicle hire company in the UK to have four self-built, double decker buses for trans-
porting our prestigious range of up to 1000 buggies and ATVs across the country. Aptly
named, Buggy Bus, each one has been modified by our expert team to carry
up to 13 buggies to allow more exhibition time at shows and more
time dedicated to our customers. Originally a standard truck, our
talented team of fabricators were able to modify each vehicle add-
ing an extra section to help transport double the amount of buggies
from our vast selection to and from shows and events.
We have two black and two white buses kitted out in SHB livery
that was specifically designed to reflect SHB by our communications
team. The buggies will be travelling the breadth of the UK over the coming weeks attend-
ing shows and festivals. One was recently used at Farnborough International Airshow where SHB were the
official suppliers. Make sure to keep an eye out for one of our buggies on a road near you, because we enjoy
interacting with our customers please feel free email through any photos you may have to our tenders and
communications team at tenders@shb.co.uk
We are proud to introduce the SHB Buggy Bus:

Survey Results...
We would like to thank
everyone who took the
time to complete our
recent survey. Adrian
Davies, Director of Plant
and Transport at Alun
Griffiths was randomly
selected as our winner.
Congratulations Adrian!
Since its humble beginnings in 1970, Glastonbury has seen some
of the biggest line ups of musicians of our generation.
From rock ‘n’ roll legends the Rolling Stones to booty shaking
Beyonce, everyone wants a glimpse of some of the world’s biggest
performers, and again, SHB were there to help support the event
that stretches over 90 acres of land.
SHB have been supplying the world’s largest festival with vehicles
for over 10 years, and 2014 was no different. This year they had
approximately 240 vehicles on hire ranging from golf buggies to
4x4s, transit vans, tippers and dropsides.
With a reported 250,000 party-goers at this year’s event our dedi-
cated team certainly had a lot of work on their hands.
The picture on the right really sums up one crazy week but we
can’t wait to do it all over again next year!
Kirsty has been working for SHB for seven years. She began her career with SHB back in November 2007 as a
Receptionist at our Head Office in Romsey before moving to the Hire Department as a Hire Controller a year
later. As a Hire Controller Kirsty’s main duties involve taking general hires, from the initial
enquiry stage through to putting bookings onto the system, dealing with national ac-
counts and supporting our customers with their hire options. Earlier this year Kirsty was
promoted to Business Development Support and the Hire Office Deputy Supervisor,
this added responsibility centres around networking with customers within the local
area. Kirsty has also been paramount to our success with Glastonbury festival. For
the past two years Kirsty has remained onsite managing the vehicles and handling
any problems that have occurred. Kirsty says she’s enjoyed her time with SHB and
hopes to see the company continuously grow and develop.

“Great service last weekend. Your golf buggies were smart and driven so
well by your cheerful team. It was a long night, but they were still smiling
at the end.
Thank you so much.”

Partnership with Donington and Rugby Club
Whether it’s utilising local businesses or employing young people we
always support local communities where we can which is why we’re
delighted to announce our partnership with both Donington Park and
Gloucester Rugby Club.
Renowned for its motorsport history, Donington race track has become
an important part of our British heritage and is still going strong since its
first motorcycle race back in 1931.
We are proud to be one of their few partners and currently supply them with three track support
vehicles which are bespoke to their needs.
Gloucester Rugby Club, often referred to as ‘cherry and whites’ due to the team’s colours, are our
newest partnership. The club has been running for more than 140 years and first came to promi-
nence in the mid ‘90s. Since ‘97 the club has managed to come in first place on
the Premier League Board on three separate occasions.
We are thrilled to be partnering with Gloucester Rugby Club and will be sup-
plying them with a new Mercedes Sprinter 313 LWB kit van for next year.
We look forward to a promising and longstanding relationship with Donington
Park and Gloucester Rugby Club for years to come.
News In Brief...
SHB help raise money for chosen charities
As mentioned in our last newsletter we are sponsoring two chari-
ties this year, Help for Heroes and Cancer Research.
We would like to say a big thank you to those of you that have
already dug deep and sponsored our depot-to-depot challenge in
September for Help for Heroes. Your donations, however big or
small, are greatly appreciated and we are pleased to say we have
so far raised almost £2000 of our £5000 target! Participants are
really pushing themselves in aid of this wonderful charity that
has affected many employees and their families over the years.
During the coming weeks we hope to see a surge in sponsorship as our goal gets closer.
Our Group Hire Manager, Richard Evans, took part in the John
O’ Groats to Lands End scooter marathon in May to help raise
money for Cancer Research.
Although monies are still being counted and verified the entire
event will hopefully have raised over 10K for Cancer Research.
Richard successfully completed the 847 mile challenge in three
days, which usually takes most cyclists between 10 and 14 days
to complete.

Changes to how parking
tickets will be issued
Changes to parking ticket en-
forcements will come into effect
this coming autumn.
The move will make it illegal for
councils to issue tickets based
solely on CCTV footage reducing
the amount of tickets coming
through the post. With park-
ing wardens now having to fix
tickets directly to windscreens,
rental and leasing companies
will notice a huge lift in adminis-
trative burdens.
Drivers could get six
points on their licence
The penalty for using hand-held
mobile devices may go from
three to six points. According to
reports Transport Secretary, Pat-
rick McLoughlin, said he wanted
to end the ‘appalling’ amount
of people killed and seriously
injured due to using hand-held
devices. Most recent figures from
2011 show driving whilst using a
mobile phone contributed to 23
deaths and 74 serious injuries.
