2. IMAGE
There is only one main
image and it is a close up
shot. The ‘red and white’
colour scheme matches
with the colour of the
text. This blends all of the
colours together and
makes it seem more
professional and not
messy. The image has the
most colour on it because
it is one of the most
important things on the
double page spread. It is a
close up shot so the
reader can see more of
the artists face. Some
double page spreads have
the image bleeding. This
is were the main image
goes onto the second
page.
3. TEXT
Most contents
page have size 11pt
text and is usually
Ariel font. All
contents pages
have a drop text.
For example in the
letter ‘H’ has a
drop text because
its easy for the
reader to know
where to start
reading. The text is
usually split into 2-
4 columns. This is
so the text is
appeared as clean
and not messy.
4. COLOUR SCHEME
The colour scheme
on a double page
spread usually
follows the same
colour. This is so it
all fits well together
and doesn't
overpower the
image. Usually the
artists name is in a
different colour so it
stands out in the
article. Most of the
time the colour
scheme is used to
fit the genre. For
example ‘Red’
would be connote
rap, and ‘Black’
would connote rock.
5. OTHER
The double page spread
sometimes includes by-
lines which are put
under the image to give
credit to the
photographer. Some
double paged magazines
includes a stand first.
This is to explain what
the article is about.
Sometimes a quote from
what the artist has said
is inserted on the
double paged spread.
This grabs the readers
attention. It also can
sometimes break up the
columns.
