Coaching Staff Expectation
The coaching staff isan importantpart of the basketball program.Membersof the coachingstaff will
contribute theirknowledgeandskillsinhelpingdevelopthe players,aswellasaidingthe headcoachin
buildingachampionship-caliberprogram. Itisimperative thatthe coachingstaff haspassionfor
coaching.If a coach isn’tpassionate aboutwhattheydotheywill notreachtheirfull potential.The staff
mustalso be loyal,notonlytothe headcoach, butthe teamand the school.Theymustbe open-
minded,professional,enthusiastic,andhave integrity.The coachingstaff shouldnotonlydisplayall
those qualities,buttheymustbe committedtothe headcoach’sphilosophies.
Assistant Coach
There are fourmainqualitiesforanassistantcoach:an effective teacher,leader,motivator,and
communicator.The assistantcoachwill notonlyencompassall those qualitiesbuttheywill alsobring
diverse experiencetothe coachingstaff. One of the mainresponsibilitiesof the assistantcoachto focus
on coachingthe benchin game as I focuson the in game action.
Managers
The main qualitiesof agood managerare: beingreliable,punctual,andthorough.Managersplayavital
role to our program.Theydo a varietyof jobsincludingkeepingthe scorebook,video-tapinggames,and
keepingstats
Expectations of our staff
 To be accountable forall actions.
 Do everythinginourpowertomaintainachampionshipculture
 Continuallystrive todevelopyourknowledgeandskills
 To deal withall coachingsituationswithhonorandintegrity. If we as coachesneedtodiscuss
potential problemsandordisagreements itwill be behindcloseddoors.
 To run an organizedprogramso thatwe will be able tofunctionefficiently. Ourcoachesshould
be coaching ourathletes,becomingapart of theirlives,andtobe someone theycantrustfirst
and foremost.
 To maintainanatmosphere thatisconducive to highquality work.
 To listentothe each-otherssuggestions.
 To take ownershipand responsibility overyourgivenrole.
 To work hardand provide leadershiptowin.
 To treat the otherstaff and the athleteswithdignityandrespect.

 Maintaina professional approachwithparents,fans,andotheroutside constituents
 To help developathletesbothonandoff the court
 Alwaysbringa positive attitude topractice andgames
 Alwaysbe 100% preparedforanysituationthatmay arise inpractice or a game
