What is decision effectiveness?
Three frogs are sitting on a log.
One decides to jump off.
How many are left on the log?
• Get clinicians involved in the decision!
• Gain clarity on why action needs to be taken and what needs to be done
• Individuals feel ownership / involvement of the decision
• Value based thinking – getting the order right
• Define the required outcomes and how they will be measured
• Come up with options and assess against the outcomes
Benefits of the What
• Agree who will play which role in your decision – only 1 decision
maker
• Plan the process ahead to successfully move through governance
system
• Involve the right people at the right time
• Lead to wider improvements your process?
Who
• Mobilise Healthy Lung Investment
• Need to embed Decision Effectiveness Approach within LCCG
• Training of PMO staff to facilitate workshops and produce outputs
• Discussions around a ‘Lite’ Version of the Toolkit for smaller
decisions
• Widening the Value Conversation
