Cloud skills shortages remain a major challenge for organizations who want to fully leverage cloud computing capabilities. Many professionals assume to understand cloud but often carry cloud myths which are far from reality. This presentation highlights the cloud myths that arise in cloud training and the key takeaways that ensure a solid understanding of cloud computing professionals can put to use. Bart Castle has delivered close to a hundred Cloud Credential Council and AWS training sessions and gives his insights from hundreds of participants in his cloud certification training sessions.
Cloud computing has evolved and integrated itself into business. It’s become a necessity for strategic agility and technical excellence. Many organizations face challenges with the advents of cloud, including unexpected technical and business shifts which require professionals on both sides of the IT and business divide to rethink their approach. A stated need in most of these cases is for a specific set of cloud skills criteria for the key roles in the project(s) – something that can be qualified.
You’ve probably seen some cool data visualizations, and perhaps daydreamed of the day your organization’s data would be as easily computable. You’re not alone, many enterprises are falling behind the Big Data bandwagon and don’t all have clear direction to optimize their use of enterprise data as part of their cloud strategy.
Data is the “lifeblood of your business. It contains your organization’s history. And it’s trying to tell you something.” So, isn’t it time we pay attention?
Barriers and Challenges to Opportunities and ROI
For successful cloud adoption, one needs to understand the risk[/inlinetweet] vs the reward and know how to mitigate those risks. Cloud security has been a major barrier and challenge for organizations moving into the cloud. Fortunately studies show this security concern is somewhat lessened this year. However, cloud security still remains at the forefront of boardroom discussions and security breaches in news headlines and the concerns at the top of cloud agendas.
In this webinar Dr. Mariana Carroll, Cloud Advisor, Trainer and Consultant, will walk us through the necessary assessment checklist for secure cloud adoption.
This webinar is recommended for experienced cloud trainers, consultants and practitioners.
Hybrid cloud is the most common cloud approach enterprises are adopting today. So we took the opportunity to apply role-based certifications to a hybrid cloud strategy. The graphic illustrates the benefits of a unified, role-based, vendor-neutral certification scheme which adapts itself to various strategies.
Amongst the various cloud technology vendors and certification bodies offering cloud training, cloud solution architecture (CSA) is by far the most commonly served area. Architecture is undeniably important, but what is it that makes cloud architecture so deserving of this attention? What changed for architects in cloud computing? How do IT professionals, and the trainers and consultants supporting them, make this transition to cloud architecture successfully?
We’re honored to have Mark Skilton, accomplished digital consultant, academic, and author of the CCC Professional Cloud Solutions Architect syllabus, provide the underpinning competencies critical for successfully transitioning to CSA.
Understand what aspects of cloud make architecture a critical area for re-skilling.
Discuss the evolution of cloud adoption and demand for qualified CSA.
Gain insights on the value and future outlook of cloud computing and architecture.

What does it mean to be a cloud professional?
We see the term in more and more training and certification programs, and ‘cloud skills’ has increasingly become a requirement on many job descriptions. It’s quite general and vague what these specific skills this translates to for the variety of positions in IT and some non-IT functions involved with cloud computing.
Last year we shared a series of videos from interviews with the authors of the Cloud Technology Associate certification syllabus to help answer these questions. As the demand for cloud skills continues to grow in 2016, we are revisiting the topic and sitting down with them in a webinar so we can delve deeper into the subject.

Webinar: Dispelling the Myths about Cloud SecurityCyren, Inc
An informative webinar to dispel some of the myths about cloud security, including:
* Cloud-based security is more vulnerable than traditional appliance-based security
* Physical control of data and security hardware always means better security
*Cloud security is “one size fits none”
*Cloud security is difficult to implement and manage
*Shifting your security to the cloud means you lose control
With today’s evolving technological landscape, chances are you’ve heard of the term “cloud.” You may have even wondered why anyone would be talking about the weather along with computing infrastructures and data centers. Although the popularity of the cloud has gradually risen, there are many people who still don’t know exactly what it is.
The cloud is the general term for cloud computing, which refers to the use of the Internet to access hosted services or your own applications, storage, servers, and data that are hosted in a remote location. Saving your files to the cloud allows you to access them from anywhere at any time, as long as you have an Internet connection. You have probably been using cloud services or resources for a while without even knowing it. The most common cloud services include Gmail, Dropbox, Google Docs, and even Twitter.
Cloud computing is continuing to gain momentum among businesses and consumers alike. It offers consumers a more convenient way to store and share their files as well as access their data at any time, from anywhere. Businesses are virtualizing corporate desktops in the cloud and have considerably reduced the costs of maintaining their physical IT infrastructures in the process. Cloud services allow for more flexible working practices as well as greater mobility. Accessing your data on any device is safe and secure, and actually gives companies a better way to manage and secure data.
Cloud computing focuses on shared resources within the infrastructure. This means that customers share physical resources while maintaining security by reinforcing their “piece of the pie” with firewalls and virtual security. By focusing on this shared resource methodology, cloud companies can offer incredibly cost-effective rates compared to traditional computing due to the positive economies of scale. The more tenants that occupy a cloud, the more cost effective a solution becomes. The best Cloud providers use this method to offer solutions for a fraction of what they would cost should an organization attempt to do them in-house.
The cloud is quickly becoming commonplace in the world of technology. Its accessibility and convenience are undeniable, and more often than not, businesses and service providers have considered implementing or currently utilize cloud computing.
Getting Your IT Security Learners Ready for the Cloud with CCSK CertificationITpreneurs

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
