Approach to Persuasion Essay example
Embracing an individual s point of view by means of reasoning, argument or entreaty is an act of
persuasion. An individual is regularly confronted by persuasion throughout their everyday life. It
takes place in various situations that are categorized in three sections, the appeal to emotion, the
appeal to reason, and the appeal to one s character. Furthermore, this leads to an influential aspect.
It is from one s characteristic to be influenced by persuasion, thus, to be overlooked by outside
sources. This is not only found as a human speaks, but persuasion is the aim of advertisements, and
political candidates who are trying to sway voters to vote for them. Since Ancient times, persuasive
techniques have been observed and studied but due... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Persuasion appears various forms. In life, the world often offers and persuades negative and
positive examples using ethos, pathos and logo. Many advertisements advertise harmful and others
advertise substances and people tend to respond variously towards persuasion. Some believe they
are immune to persuasion, yet persuasion can be subtle. How an individual responds to persuasion
can depend on a variety of factors. The main factor implies on the audience themselves. In order to
persuade, one must analyze the audience. The audience may appear differently; there are supportive
audiences whom begin with support, there are uncommitted audiences whom are neutral, there are
also indifferent audiences whom need the persuader to grab their attention, and there is also the
opposed audience. The opposed audience are the hardest to convince; they are against the persuader
from the start. The same techniques of Pathos, Ethos, and Logos apply, but with the use of different
extents.
Motivation is a necessary method for persuasion. Motivation acts as an incentive for the audience
to act or behave in a certain way. This method causes an individual to act the way they act, and do
the things they do, moreover, refuse doing the things they do not want to. Motivation acts as a
guide in an individual s life. In many scenarios, one s motivation is fear. The fear may be of losing
a need, or desire, thus, resulting with an outcome or reward that does not

Life And Role Of Stanislavski s Acting Style In Theatre
Stanislavski was born in Russia in 1863, and his birth name was Konstantin Sergeevich Alekseev.
He was exposed to the arts from a young age and as a child regularly visited theatres, operas and
ballets.
During the 1800s in Russia, actors were in a lower social class, so for almost half of Stanislavski
s life, he was limited to amateur arts to avoid casting social embarrassment on his family.
Stanislavski was the name he used to act without his family s awareness and he eventually became
professional when the Moscow Arts Theatre was founded in 1897.
The MXAT was effectively the first to ensure many, many hours were put into rehearsals and to
specially design all costumes, sound and lighting. This was the beginning of a realistic style within
theatre, which was opposed by many creative pioneers. Stanislavski felt no other option than to
become independent and set up the First Studio in 1912, moving away from the MXAT to combat
opposition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After being evicted, Stanislavski was desperate and eventually the state allocated him a small
house where he could rehearse. During this time, the MXAT also suffered and an acting tour led
by Stanislavski was its desperate attempt to gain funds. Some of the MXAT actors found new
teaching careers in the West, which spread Stanislavski s ideas.
Stanislavski s experimentation away from realism, into yoga and psychology, were ignored by the
Soviet government which appointed him as a Soviet Realism model. Stanislavski struggled to
accept the new laws on acting and backlash from the press triggered the heart attack which ended
his acting career. Stanislavski s manuals and ideas became the curriculum for theatre schools within
Russia, but many of his ideas were ignored and his public image was vastly contrasted to his private
image. Stanislavski lived in exile and rarely left his home in the 4 years before his

Persuasive Essay On Euthanasia
Euthanasia, a relatively new word, but its contents as old as humanity itself. In other words, it is
assisted suicide, deliverance. Death affects all of us, however, in reality, no one talks about it. In
the final phase of life, people should have the right to decide if they want to die from the hands of
a doctor. Euthanasia is a far quieter alternative of leaving the world than drastic suicidefor incurable
diseases and inhuman sufferers. The doctor should be able to comply with a reasoned request of a
patient without being sued in the future. To illustrate, 86 percent of public support euthanasia for
the terminally ill or on life support ( Euthanasia Statistics ). Euthanasia should be legalized through
the whole world because people should be able to decide whether they want to live or die. A person
sufferingfrom a serious illness that is getting worse and worse every day and causes that the person
has to stay in a hospital bed while having a cruel pain should have a right to euthanasia.
Unfortunately, this assisted deathis forbidden in most countries all over the world. However,
according to The Economist newspaper in some countries in Europe such as Netherlands,
Belgium and Luxembourg allow assisted suicide ( Over My Dead Body; Assisted Suicide ). At
the beginning most people try to fight for their precious life, usually, they are young people who
have a lot of strength. However some diseases are stronger, and people do not want to worry so

The Global Terrorism Sanctions block, with certain exceptions, all property and interests in
property of certain foreign persons that are in the United States, that come within the United States,

I Am A Professional Engineer
It is not easy to become a successful, professional engineer. A professional engineer requires high
responsibility, especially problem based solving skills to cope with workplace environment and
compete with others. Problem based learning (PBL) is really important to reflect the professional
practice of engineers. There have been several definitions of PBL. According to Lizinger, Lattuca,
Hadgraft and Newstetter (2011, p.134), PBL is the approach that allows learners to practice
finding solutions throughout their academy. Learners in a PBL process have to reflect, identify and
learn about the complex problem and the cycle is repeated until learners find a solution that they
can do both in writing and presentation. There are some basics of PBL such as decision making,
communication, collaboration, self regulation, self motivation and flexibility. These basics are the
base for every engineerto become a successful professional practicing engineer.
Decision making ability helps engineers to learn deeply from the problems and have ability to
analyse and get the detail of the problems before planning to solve them. Deep learners focus on the
problem carefully and get all information about it. Lizinger, Lattuca, Hadgraft and Newstetter
(2011, p.126) state that the experiences of the effective learning from deep learning leads learners
to understand key words and general principle to develop both technic and profession. Not only
deep learning, decision making ability improves

Ernest Hemingway Obstacles
Ernest Hemingway is an extremely talented author whose classic novella was a very inspirational
piece. The Old Man and the Sea, was a short novel that involved Santiago, an old fisherman who
was unable to fish for eighty four days, going on a fishing trip to see if his luck would change
around. He results in catching an eighteen foot Marlin, but faces many obstacles when attempting
to take him home. The book was filled with vivid details and superb language, motivational themes,
and a dynamic main character who thrives through it all. With this said, Hemingway s The Old Man

Loss of Humanities Should Not be a Sacrifice of Eduction...
As the reduction of the Humanities department begins to arise, many students lives are severely
impacted. There are many positive and negative effects which come along with reducing funds in
the Humanities departments. Though many individuals might contradict that reducing humanities
may be a beneficial act for some, In my opinion it should not be lessened primarily because it can
lead to malevolent mishaps. Decreasing humanitieswill result in excessive unemployment rates,
superfluous amount of students won t be ready for their vocational lives, and many diligent
individuals will not be able to afford paying for the expenses. How many sacrifices are you willing
to take in order to get a superior education?
To begin with, one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This illustrates that Humanities is an essential part to everyone because it contributes students with
a valuable perception and to get a fast career.
Lastly, many students will not be able to afford paying for the expenses. In the article it states,
Technology executives, researchers and business leaders argue that producing enough trained
engineers and scientists is essential to America s economic vitality, national defense and health
care, (Cohen 22 ). This shows that with the reduction of humanities there will be more engineers
but less scientists. Humanities study can make better scientists because it teaches you how to
think in a creative way also in a critical one and to ask questions. These skills are helpful to gain
a better understanding and scientists question everything and prove it by experimenting. Reading
the great literary and philosophical works and coming to grips with the question of what is living
for may become a great luxury that many cannot afford, (Cohen 24). Without being able to afford
for it many people can t get the education they should receive. In my opinion if the scholars begin
to lose interest in their occupation they will major in anything to achieve their career and grasp a
job.
To conclude, without Humanities the courses are elongated and students won t be able to achieve a
career if they cannot pay for the the expenses. Receding humanities will result into excessive
unemployment rates, superfluous

Native American Boarding Schools
The Native Americans also lost their old cultures throughout time. In 1860, Americans created the
first boarding school for Indians. The government forced many families to put their kids into the
school. At the school it was mandatory to learn english, American ways of living, religious training
for Christianity, change names to American names, and wear proper clothing. Americans thought if
they were taught the religious beliefs of Americans everyday, they would soon believe in
Christianity and forget about their old culture. Their end goal was to completely demolish the Indian
culture. One boarding schoolthen turned to sixty schools for 6,200 Indian students all learning the
same things. In order to change the kids from Indian to American,

Black Feminist Politics And Praxis
Black Feminist Politics and Praxis in Respect to UConn Reads Active Learning Activity Black
Feminist Politics and theory grew out of many black women s feelings of dissatisfaction following
the civil rights era, and the white female feminist movement throughout the 1960 1970s. During the
early conceptualization process of black feminist theory, the women of this new movement,
specifically KimberlГ© Crenshaw, came to name the term intersectionality theory. Black Feminist
Politics and theory argues that sexism, racism, class oppression, and gender identity are intricately
bound together. Complexly, they serve to maintain subjugation and suppression. In this essay, we

The organization was instrumental in stating that the mainstream white feminist movement was not
meeting their wants or needs. In their Collective Statement they spoke, A combined antiracist and
antisexist position drew us together initially, and as we developed politically we addressed
ourselves to heterosexism and economic oppression under capitalism (1982, 4). This statement truly
grasped a portrait of the politics and thoughts of black feminists. As previously, mentioned, Black
Feminist Politics is the intersectional analysis of the multitude of oppressions that black women
face. It is not just the experience, for example, of sexism or racism, it is the overlapping prejudices
and microagressions that black women face daily. Black Feminist Politics seeks to end these
prejudices, discriminations, and microagressions. The Combahee River Collective was a crucial
assemblage of individuals who expanded the politics and thought process of black feminists. The
Combahee River Collective Statement was a very important document because it set forth the
foundations of contemporary black feminist thought and theory.
When analyzed from the historical standpoint, overwhelmingly, black women who participated in
the feminist movement during this time were often met with racism. The racism that they faced

How To Kill The Dolphins Persuasive Essay
A bay in scarlet
The scenes when the dolphins get killed is dramatic and in some places like Japan they even pull
curtains across the shoreline to hide the terrible killing process from the public .
Dolphins are one of the most intelligent animals on the planet and because of their well known
kindness they are loved by a huge amount of people. But still they are getting killed in massive
amounts in places like Chile, Faroe Island and especially in Japan. We even love them so much that
we let them suffer in dolphinariums just so we can get a little amused watching them. Is it correct
to kill and torture these harmless and intelligent creatures, for almost no use?
Some dolphin species face an uncertain future, especially some dolphin species such as the Amazon
River dolphin, the Ganges and Yangtze Riverdolphin, which are seriously endangered. In 2006 it
was stated that the Yangtze River dolphin was completely extinct. Because of hunting,
entanglement in fishing gear, collisions with boats and ships, habitat loss, and pollution.
Although people like to see dolphins perform in dolphinariums .Many doesn t know that dolphins
live 40 years shorter in captivity and dolphins that are getting slaughtered contains polluted meat
which makes it a health risk for humans to eat.

Arab Dichotomy
The dichotomy of historical events, personalities and concepts are central to devising a sense of
both triumph and tragedy, varying in perspective for the individuals and groups directly
involved. The creation of the state of Israel accommodates this dichotomy, in which the event
can simply be recognised as a success for the Jewish people whose religious land was regained,
and a calamity for the Arab Palestinians who became displaced refugees as a result. Since the
inception of the Israeli nation state in 1948, religious and political difference have played a major
role in bringing about the Arab Israeli conflict. The dominance of the Jewish people, driven by
religious and cultural ties to the land following their Diaspora, has seen the formation of Israelas a
short term social triumph. However, the resultant dispossession of Arab refugees in the elicited
conflict, consolidated by the increase in Arab rebel terrorist activity and interference of other states

It is the degrees of strength in the varying Jewish and Arab claims that begin to arise debate
regarding the events triumph or tragedy status. Further debate surrounds the level of influence
religious sacred texts such as the Torah or Quran can have on the modern world. Modern day Israel
is located on the east coast of the Mediterranean Sea and holds immense religious significance for
the monotheistic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam which were believed to originate there.
For Judaism, it is considered the birthplace of shaping the Jewish identity through the covenant

Analysis Of Marion Dadds And Susan Hart
This paper from Doing Practicioner Research Differently, by Marion Dadds and Susan Hart,
explores the way in which a researcher (Joseph Geraci) has entered into the world of several
individuals living with autism, and has spent time observing and working with them in order to
gain a better understanding of what it is like to live with autism, and the reasons behind why autistic
individuals behave in some of the ways that they do.
The underpinning philosophical basis for the methodological approaches the research adopts.
By definition, an underpinning philosophy means the foundation beliefs/the system on which the
research is based around. In the case of Joe Geraci s research, his main methods of data collection
were those of observation and conversation. In research, observations can either be overt or
disclosed (that is, the participants know they are being studied) or covert/undisclosed (where the
true identity of the researcher is kept secret from the group, a deception)
In general, observations are in fact a relatively cheap method of data collection to carry out, and
the researcher needs few resources. However, what they are is very time consuming for the
researcher.
In 1995, Bassey said that the main purpose of research is to create new knowledge and
understanding for us, to help us know something we did not previously know (Bassey, M 1995),
which is what Geraci as a researcher is hoping to achieve here by experiencing his subjects
behavior first hand in

Compare And Contrast The Knight And The Canterbury Tales
Although the Knight and the Squire both possess the same occupation, they exhibit disparate
approaches in relation to devotion. In regard of battles, it was the main point in the Knight s
description, whereas in the Squire s, was barely a significant component. All of the Squire s
involvement amidst the militaryis very shortly revealed saying that he had seen some service with
the calvary/ In Flanders and Artois and Picardy, (Chaucer 87 88) while the Knights list of battles is
the focus in his description. The Knight traveled along the Mediterranean coast (Chaucer 61) to
multiple regions including Russia, North Africa, Anatolia, etc. and also fought in fifteen mortal
battles (Chaucer 63) and always killed his men (Chaucer 65) showing evidence of his devotion to
his profession. This is the opposite of the Squires distracted attitude as shown in the text when it
says, He could make songs and poems and recite, /Knew how to joust and dance, to draw and
write (Chaucer 97 98). The Squire s focus is fixated on his own entertainment instead of this
profession, displaying how he is not as dedicated to his work compared to his father. Chaucer s
countless descriptions about battles in the Knight s description shows how the Knight is chivalrous
and dedicated, willing to fight solitarily in a moments notice, while in the Squire is more focused
on himself than battles, showing how they both exhibit disparate approaches in relation to devotion

The Effects of the Affair of Caesar and Cleopatra on Calpurnia
Introduction
After Hatshepsut, Cleopatra was the only Queen of Egypt who was seriously referred to as
Pharaoh . The torrid love affair between one of the highest regarded Queens in history and that of
the phenomenal Julius Caesar is considered to be one of the most romantic and grand ones in the
world. Cecil B. Demille seems to agree in the trailer to his 1934 film Cleopatra . Maybe this
notion is true after all, but when falling head over heels with the idea of this romance, one tends to

An 1898 performance of Julius Caesar at Her Majesty s Theatre was reviewed by Percy Simpson
who described Calpurnia as a tragic character in her own right, a Cassandra like figure who
clearly foresees approaching disaster, but is powerless to prevent it. (2) Simpson further
described her performance; To her horror, Caesar demands his robe, Calpurnia kneels protesting,
but to no avail. For the remainder of the scene she sits in the chair at LC, a terrified witness to her
husband s folly. (3) Once again, Calpurnia is portrayed as a woman who experiences an inner
languish caused by being a witness to the torment her husband is made to go through.
Adrien Bonjour in his book The Structure of Julius Caesar, gives credit to Calpurnia for her
skill in not only trying to save Caesar, but in stopping him from losing his respect in from of his
fellow senators. Bonjour writes, Caesar has declared himself immovable. But Calpurnia, knowing
her lord, offers him a way out: call it my fear that keeps you in this house , suggests the tactful
wife, and Caesar complies immediately. (4) This is evidence of Calpurnia s willing submission of
insult being caused to her own reputation in order to preserve that of her husband.
It is sometimes disputed that the way Cleopatra s attraction towards Caesar was fueled by self

When the guys girl gets out of the car they attempt to rape her, that shows how weak they
actually are. Many times, in society young people think they have it all under control, they have
it figured out even though they don t. During these teen phases, they try to experience many
things. such as drugs, drinking, and sexual exploration and become involved in various
mischievous activities. It is about the coming of adulthood. It is no longer trying to be like
them, but copying one. The three friends are not as bad as they pretend to be. Boyle gives them
an opportunity to rape, but got interrupted because they wouldn t have done it anyways they
were to scared. The author symbolizes the water as transition and spirituality, the lake is
symbolized as the elusive badness the boys want so badly. The narrator notices that none of
them are as bad as they try to act. After that night the narrator realizes he cannot make it in that
life, rather the narrator wants to go to the safety and security of his home and parents.
Throughout the story many bad decisions were being made because they couldn t handle

these young men. We sometimes forget to make the right decision and sometimes is hard to make
the right decision when you are hanging out with the wrong people and wrong set of minds of

system of Dakota office products invites our attention to the premise of Activity Based costing
methodology. We are certain about the fact that the accounting and reporting system at Dakota
Office Product is inappropriate and is leading to the company making wrong decision ultimately
leading to losses. This was apparent from the record where the company was able to increase its
sales without a corresponding increase in the profits for that particular year. Activity based costing
system is an approach which seeks to allocate the overhead cost to the products on a scientific and
realistic basis. The existing system of allocating cost at Dakota Office products were inadequate
in so much so that it was following an unreasonable basis for allocating the cost, which were
known and visible, such as the desktop delivery cost. The existing system was suffering from
oversight of some of the expenses. ABC costing system seeks to overcome the problem of
oversight and make a more reasonable allocation of the costs. The distinctive feature of this method
is the fact that the method can provide useful insights to the management as to the activities which
are leading to the cost by

The Importance Of Statistical Data
For this news story, I would have liked to of seen more statistical data from the original source
incorporated into this article. I also find myself yearning for more of the left out details about the
experiment itself. How many rats were involved in this study? Were they all in a controlled
environment? How many times was this specific study repeated? Though there is a lack of
information, I would assume that this was an experimental study. According to our textbook, an
experiment is a method used by scientist to study causation. In the study that is mentioned in this
news story, they did just that. Using rats as their subjects and cherry blossom as the scent, were
able to find out that mice can pass on learned information about... Show more content on

In fact, if I would have read this news article 3 years ago, I would have read it and seen

trying to summarize everything into a short news article. On a more positive note, I would say
that the way that this news article was written, makes it possible for almost everyone to be able

Disadvantages Of Hatha Yoga
The term Hatha [Л€ha ta] originates from the Sanskrit word hatha. When broken into two
syllables, ha (sun) and tha (moon) refers to physical yoga. The ha refers to the hot energy of sun
while the tha refers to the cooling energy of the moon (Iyengar, 2012; Hutton, 2014). In Hatha
yoga, Desikachar suggests that nadi are located throughout the body. Prana, also referred to as
infinite energy, flows within these nadi or channels. Desikachar suggests that three nadi spiral
around the spinal column. The ida nadi moves through the left nostril and pingala nadi enters the
right nostril. Desikachar also states that the nadi meet at six points in the body referred to as
chakras. Running along the vertical line of the spine, one chakrais located at the center of the
eyebrows. The second chakra is at the throat and the third is at the center of the chest and just
above the heart. The fourth chakra is present at the navel and the fifth at the base of the trunk. The
last chakra originates at the base of the spine. Prana flows between these channels and may only do
so when not blocked. Hatha Yogaderives its name from the practice in which the yogi works to

Heathrow Terminal 5 Risk Management Essay
Introduction
Work on the London Heathrow terminal 5(T5) began in 2002 after a 4 year public enquiry. It took
six years to build at a cost of ВЈ4.3bn. The facility, situated on a 251hectar site had 6000 people
working on site at any one time (Health and Safety Executive, 2005). It boasts of 30,000 square
meters of glass walls, has 60 new aircraft stands and includes 13km of tunnels which were bored for
baggage handling and rail links (BBC, 2007a).
This report will be evaluating the project risk management in the construction of T5 airport. It will
start with a brief background on Heathrow terminal 5. The report will then take a critical look at
some of the British Airport Authority s (BAA) method of risk allocation and identification. It...

In getting all parties involved to work as part of an integrated team, the risk identification process
would have involved a larger number of people and increased the identified sources of risk for the
project. This fundamental relationship between project parties played a huge role in the success of
the project with regards to time and cost. (Davies et al, 2009)
Another area that BAA also identified as a major source of risk going into the project was the
Information Technology (IT) systems that would go into T5. The head of systems for BAA, Nick
Gaines stressed that the IT systems represented the largest risk to the entire project ( Illet,
2006).This is further supported by the fact that T5 underwent 6 months of testing prior to it s
opening, most of which was to do with its IT systems integration including the baggage system
(BBC, 2007b)
Risk allocation
As mentioned in the introduction, allocating risk in financial terms to different parties is
encouraged as good practice.BAA however took on an entirely different approach to their
allocation of risk by choosing to take on all the risk. They went against the normal convention of
contractual agreements which are normally reactive in their nature and mostly end up with a focus
on each party involved claiming against the other for any extra

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Foreign Currency...
With the plethora of bonds, funds, stock, etc. available in the market an individual must have
sufficient information to make better financial decisions. To make this simple let us today look at
(FCCB) foreign currency convertible bond.
So what is foreign currency convertible bond (FCCB)? To make things much simpler we have
broken the word (FCCB) foreign currency convertible bond into two simple words; foreign currency
and convertible bond.
Let us look at foreign currency, (FCCB) foreign currency convertible bond is issued in a different
currency than the issuer s domestic currency. In other words a company would issue the bond in a
different/foreign currency apart from their own national/domestic currency. Therefore the principle

The bonds can be redeemed at maturity if not converted.
Disadvantages of foreign currency convertible bond
More risk of volatility of the market as more than one economy come into picture.
There is a risk of exchange as the interest is to be paid in foreign currency. In other words if the
exchange rate increases the issuer will have to pay more to the investors.
If the stock price is lower than the redemption amount investors would seek redemption of bond
instead of conversion; this may take a toll on the earnings of the company as the company will
have to refinance to fulfil the promise of redemption made.
Foreign currency convertible bond (FCCB) remains as a liability for the company and it shrinks the
current ratio of the company.
Conclusion:
Though being in practice for a long duration, foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCB) have
become very popular while raising funds at competitive rates. In India foreign currency
convertible bonds (FCCB) are considered as foreign direct investment (FDI) by the government of
India. Foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCB) are the more modern method of raising money
for the company, which takes advantage of the economies being truly global. Also factors like
government policies and regulation, exchange rate, and cost of conversion to stock/equity may
influence investor s decision to swap foreign currency convertible bonds (FCCB) into

Essay On Exercise Induced Muscle Damage
Exercise induced muscle damage (EIMD) is very common after doing some kind of unaccustomed
or eccentrically biased physical activity. Therapies such as cold water immersion, massage, and
active recovery are known to relieve the symptoms but these treatments have ambiguous results.
Nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAID) have also been used as a treatment to EIMD. This
study is looking to see if EIMD can be treated with nutritional supplements like fish oil. The
eicosapentaenoic acid(EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid(DHA) in Omega 3 fish oil help to reduce
inflammation; this is mostly true of EPA. The purpose of this study is to examine the efficacy of

observed and documented at 1, 24, 48, 72, and 96 hours after exercising by looking at four
assessments: jump performance, isokinetic muscle strength, perceived muscle soreness, and blood
markers. The researches studied the participants jump performance by measuring their squat and
countermovement jump height with a vaned jump and reach apparatus. Isokinetic dynamometry
was used to determine isokinetic muscle strength. The participants were sitting upright with their
experimental leg secured to avoid any other movements besides what s being tested. The
dynamometer measured the concentric contractions at 60В° and 180В° s 1 through 90В° range
of movement. Perceived muscle soreness was measured by having the participants squat at 90В°
and then report their soreness on a scale of 0 10, with 0 meaning no pain and 10 meaning the
worst pain ever. Blood was also tested to assess EIMD. A 6 ml venous blood sample from the
antecubital vein was taken and then centrifuged for ten minutes to get a sample of the blood

How To Legalize Marijuana
Legalizing and regulating marijuana has been long sought after by many individuals. It would
bring one of the nation s largest cash crops under the rule of law, changing many things in the
criminal, medicine, job/tax world. The criminalization of marijuana used disproportionately harms
young people and people of color, sponsors massive levels of violence and corruption, and fails to

Federally legalizing marijuana would bring many new jobs and a very big new source of tax
income. Colorado s marijuana legalization is quickly turning the state into one of the most
prosperous places in the country. Not only has Colorado projected marijuana sales to be a billion
dollar industry, but in January of 2014 alone, the state pulled in over $3.5 million in tax revenue
from legal pot sales. If that trend continues, the state will enjoy an additional $40 million in tax
revenue in the first year of legalization. But that s not all you know those dismal unemployment
figures plaguing the nation? Not in states where pot is legal. Colorado is reporting 10,000 new
jobs, all from the legalization of both recreational and medical marijuana. 10,000 new jobs to each
state in the United States would easily improve the market, less unemployment. The state is now
enjoying one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation 6% which is the lowest it has been
since the recession started. So much for those old sayings about pot heads being lazy. That s an
additional 10,000 people in a labor force out working, instead of collecting unemployment. That s
good for everyone. Marijuana tax income in Colorado and Washington have exceeded estimates
made beforehand. Enforcing thousands of new jobs, making lots of new money, helping the
medical world, and reducing crime rate in the United States it sounds as if marijuana should

Drama of Ancient Greece Essay
Drama of Ancient Greece
The Greek dramatists have bequeathed immensely to the current mode of modern Western
literature. Shakespeare and his contemporaries revered them for their distinct and explicit language,
their dramatic scenes, and their extravagant processions. The language of their stories has connoted
itself into both, the Western dialect and Western literature in general.
The establishment of Ancient Greek culture that has left the most immutable impression on our

Apollo was the god of light, the intellect, the arts, and healing. He was the son of Zeus and the
Titan, Leto. Also heralded as Phoebus, Apollo signifies light, order, and the sun. The most
beautiful of all the gods, Apollo represents the more rational side of both the universe and man.
His oracle at Delphi, on Mount Parnassus, was revered throughout the mortal world as a vessel of
Apollo s predictions for the future. Mortals sought the oracle from vast distances to discover the
will of the gods.
Ares/Mars was the god of war, and the son of Zeus and Hera. He loved to fight, and to cause
torment and battle, although he lost his courage immediately after he himself was wounded.
Followed by Panic, Terror, and Trembling, and accompanied by his sister, Eris, and her son, Strife,
everywhere Ares walked he brought death and violence.
Artemis, who was the twin sister to Apollo and goddess of the hunt and unmarried women, had
vowed to remain chaste. Attended by her hunting hounds and nymphs, Artemis ranged throughout
the mortal forests, hunting with her silver bow. Any mortal man who saw her bathing, or in any
way harassed her, met with a horrible fate. She changed one man into a stag and set his own pack
of hunting hounds on him. Like the moon she was always related to, though, Artemis had two
sides. She was gentle and protective towards women and their young children.

Comparing Poems Mother To Son And Success Is Counted...
The poems Mother to Son and Success Is Counted Sweetest seem to be illustrating their view of

The Legacy Of Louis Armstrong Essay
Louis Armstrong, one of the most influential figures in jazz music, enjoyed a career that spans
across 50 years, and through different eras of jazz. Nicknamed Satchmo , Pops , and Ambassador
Satch , Armstrong could do it all, he sang, occasionally acted, composed music, but was most
famous for his cornet and trumpet playing. Although Armstrong is well known for his amazing
trumpet play, he also influenced the direction that jazzmusic during his time was headed. Over the
course of this paper I will concisely go over his early life, and focus more on his music career.
On August 4, 1901, Louis Armstrong was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to William Armstrong
and Mary Mayann Albert. His youth was spent in poverty, in a poor neighborhood nicknamed
the battlefield . Immediately following the birth of Louis, his father abandoned his mother and
family. His unwed single mother had to often resort to prostituting herself to provide for her
family. This left Louis is the care of his grandmother. Louis Armstrong had only attended school
until the fifth grade at Fisk School for Boys, until he was compelled to drop out and help
provide money for his family. The Karnofskys, a Jewish family, considered Louis as a family
member and helped him get a job, collecting junk and delivering coal ( Louis Armstrong
Biography ) . Louis also formed a vocal quartet with three other boys and performed on street
corners for tips ( Louis Armstrong Timeline ) . During a New Year s Eve

Political Views on Angels in America
Political Views on Angels in America
The representation of individualism and stagnation during the presidency of Ronald Reagan,
juxtaposed to Kushner s progress and collectivism.
Angel: Greetings Prophet!
The Great Work Begins:
The Messenger has arrived.
Prior: Go Away. (Kushner, 149)
Throughout Part Two of Tony Kushner s play Angels in America, Prior the Prophet envisions
progress in the world after the Angel confronts him at the end of Part One. The red line connecting
Prior and the Angel throughout the play is this progress juxtaposed to stagnation, wherein the Angel
wants Prior to prophesize a stop of movement, a stop to understanding the world and a stop to the
want of humanity to advance (178). Prior is conflicted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The same relation can be found in Reagan s inaugural address from 1981, where he speaks of
how unique we really are, and we are a united people pledged to maintaining a political system
which guarantees individual liberty to a greater degree than any other (Reagan). He speaks of a
united people, but the emphasis remains on the individual liberty and self rule he later mentions in
the same address. This representation of Republic individualism is not only visible in Joe and Roy
as discussed by Corby (19 20), but can also be found in reference to the Angel. On multiple
occasions the Angel, when appearing to Prior, lays emphasis on herself by his repetition of I.
Another way of accentuating the individual is in his praise of the Prophet, Prior. Both can be seen
in the following passage when the Angel presents herself to Prior for the first time:
I I I I
Am the Bird Of America, the Bald Eagle,
Continental Principality,
LUMEN PHOSPHOR FLUOR CANDLE!
I unfold my leaves, Bright steel,
In salutation open sharp before you:
PRIOR WALTER
Long descended, well prepared (Kushner, 170)
I I I I lays focus on this individual entity, representing herself as the Bird of America, clearly
connecting it in a similar way Reagan did in his address. The Long descended, well prepared Prior
is idolized as the Prophet, the one who needs to relay his message to the people. The phrase

Workplace Discrimination And Its Effects On Social...
Workplace discrimination is still prevalent and could have disastrous effects on social cohesion and
political stability if it continues unchecked. While the most blatant forms of discrimination at work
may have faded, many remain a persistent and daily part of the workplace, or are taking on more
subtle forms. Every day, around the world, discriminationat work is an unfortunate reality for
hundreds of millions of people. Women are by far the largest discriminated group, with the pay
gap between the sexes still significant in most countries. Racial discrimination also persists, though
older theories of the purported superiority of one racial or ethnic group over another have been
replaced by allegations that foreign and incompatible cultures may have disruptive effects on the
integrity of national identities. New forms of discrimination based on disability, HIV/AIDS, age or
sexual orientation have now become cause for growing concern.
Inequalities within discriminated groups are widening. Affirmative action policies, for example,
helped create a new middle class of formerly discriminated persons in some countries. A few rise
to the top of the social ladder, while most remain among the low paid and socially excluded.
Discrimination often traps people in low paid, informal economy jobs. The discriminated are often
stuck in the worst jobs, and denied benefits, social protection, training, capital, land or credit.

Caledonian Credit Company
Caledonian Credit Company (C.C.C)
Outcome DJ42 34 CCCCC
The managing director of C.C.C had asked me to answer the following 7 questions relating to
customer care/ focus and aftercare.
To understand what excellent customer care and the impact of both positive and negative
experiences can have on a customer, we must firstly understand what a customer is and secondly
what Customer Care is.
A customer can either be an individual or a business, on a daily basis we interact with customers
both internally and externally. Each customer will have a unique set of requirements and needs.
For external customers this could be to have bank accounts to save money in, ability to pay bills
(Direct debits etc), buy/sell shares, create pension ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To enable C.C.C to embrace this concept there needs to be a radical change in the management
style. Obstacles which will stand in the way of customer care would be poor communication, lack
of commitment from management, proper staff training and lack of resources.
The most appropriate style of management would be no.3 the Flat organisation. This will remove
some of the barriers between external and internal customers.
Question 4 overlaps with no.3, to remove some of the decision making levels of management
means that that front line staff need to have the ability and responsibility to make decisions and
respond to customer complaints in a manner which does not need to be authorised by the high level
management. An example of this could be charges placed on a customer s account for their account
going overdrawn due to an oversight. The front line staff can be given the authority to on individual
cases to refund those charges if they felt that it was more an oversight that intentionally abusing the
overdraft facility. In doing this it gives both the customer satisfaction and also the staff in that they
are making a difference helping C.C.C in attaining targets. Empowering the staff should also make
the role of management easier, if issues arise the managers can ask the staff how they think they can
resolve or improve services without them

The American Of The Canadian Empire
Once considered the gem of the Canadian Crown Corporations, Air Canada was afflicted by a
storm of financial problems in the early nineties. This onslaught of financial difficulties, which
had been created largely by the Gulf War and the Canadian recession, increased Air Canada s
losses increased at worrisome rates. Then, after suffering losses upwards of $218 million in 1991,
the Board of Directors recognized the need for a corporate overhaul and consequently appointed
Hollis Harris as the Chief Executive Officer the following year. Harris, a 37 year veteran in the
highly competitive American airlineindustry, was given the challenging task of returning the
struggling airline to profitability. When he was appointed, many Canadians were outraged that an
American would lead a privatized Canadian company and feared this decision to be a step towards
the impending Americanization of the Canadian culture. Others speculated that Harris was
appointed for the sole purpose of training and mentoring Air Canada s future leader . However,
these individuals were all proven wrong when Harris transformed the reeling airline into a leading
competitor in the global airline industry. His American background, which was condemned by
many, played a significant role in the expanding Air Canada s international reach. His experience in
the aviation sector combined with his extraordinary leadership skills, helped reduce costs and
placed Air Canada on the path to financial recovery. Finally,

Abstract: The purpose of the experiment is to learn more about the polarization of light, polarizing

Overview:
The action of light is an extraordinary phenomenon. Light, for example, the one emitting from a
light bulb, is a form of wave motions that consist of electric and magnetic fields that vibrate at
right angles to the direction of travel of a light beam. The electric field that is associated with the
light wave oscillates in random directions, but is always in a right angle to the light propagation
direction. An unpolarized light is known as a light wave that vibrates ... Show more content on

Within the second part of the experiment I darkened the room so that the representation of light
was more significant. When I had everything hooked up properly I was able to use the
measurement tool to make 15degree rotations accordingly. These rotations were not precise and
it appeared that it only took me 180degrees to make a full rotation. Considering that the filters
were very small. I made a total of 13 readings and they are as follows: 0degrees 4.83ohms,
15degrees 15.39 ohms, 30degrees 18.82 ohms, 45degrees 15.53ohms, 60degrees 12.27ohms,

135degrees 9.20ohms, 150degrees 12.80ohms, 165degrees 16.58ohms, 180degrees 5.24ohms.
These results varied, it appears as though when I made a slight increment to the degrees it made a

The Political And Geographic Situation Of Europe At The...
The political/geographic situation in Europe at the beginning of World War I was full of conflict
and strife with nations already seeped in rivalry and hatred, bidding for power with military
might and seeking to obtain it no matter what the cost or how much human life it would take to
attain. Alliances are formed in a amalgamation of shared hatred for equal enemies and desire for
power , Europe is abound with chaos. European borders seem to be ever changing like that of a
snaking river. Austria Hungary is full of minorities each vying for its own independence and
country. Germanyand France have an undying enmity for one another. Russia also hated by the
Germans is seeking to protect its interests in the Balkans, while creating alliances with France and
England. The continent is as a sleeping volcano waiting to erupt in a violent cataclysm of war
and destruction with its epicenter between Serbia and Austria hungry, pulling each of its
respected allies into the First world war. It seems every country has some disposition towards
another country over disputes not its own but of its allies. The great powers of Europe came to
War after The Archdukes assassination in response to each of its respected allies becoming
engulfed in a conflict between the Serbian people and Austrian hungry nation. With both sides

Enkidu And The Impact Of Civilization
Enkidu and The Impact of Civilization The Epic of Gilgamesh was written between c.2150 1400
BCE in the ancient city of Mesopotamia meaning between two rivers . The epic is also considered
one of the worlds first great works of literature. From the beginning to the end of the epic, many
themes are expressed through the text but one in particular that stands out is the effect of
civilization on humanity. The effect of civilization on humanity was a reoccurring theme in the
story in regards to one of the main characters, Enkidu. Throughout the epic, many questions arise
around the idea of civilization, is civilization a good thing, or is it bad, what is gained though
civilization or what is lost? All these questions in regard to epic... Show more content on

Enkidu set everything in balance, if something like a snare or holes from civilization disrupted
the natural balance of the world, Enkidu would be the one to set things right. At this time in the
epic, Enkidu was in his purest, most innocent form. This way of living could easily be connected
to The Daodejing and what Daoist would call living with the Way . Enkidu was just another
smaller piece to a bigger play or picture, he was doing what his creator (Ninurta) made him for,
and that was to protect and be at one with nature. He was living with the way by living in the
simplest way possible which was running with the animals and living unaffected by civilization.
He did not put labels on any of the things around them because if he did so he would be limiting
his view of the world. Endkiu had no desires, no wants, no needs, except for the basic necessities
such as food and water. But even for those needs he did not worry, one could easily connect Enkidu
the the bible because he subconsciously knew that nature and god would some how provide and did
not take the time to worry about little things. Then one day a trapper complains about Enkidu to the
mighty king, Giliamesh, and he decides to send essentially a prostitute named Shamhat to seduce

Major Problems With American Popular Culture Chapter 3...
Chapter 3 in Major Problems with American Popular Culture discusses the meaning and purposes of
popular culture in the 19th century American society. The text presents a variety of materials
attributed to America popular culture of that time, such as accounts of Fejee Mermaid exposition,
extracts from the 19th century Shakespeare s adaptations and the eyewitness testimony of the Astor
Place Riot in 1849. Furthermore, the YouTube video sources discuss the concept of imagined
community, first suggested by Benedict Anderson. Imagined community is discussed in the light of
popular culture, which becomes an alternative instrument of imagining communities with the
emergence of different types of media, it being film, theatre, news or internet. Interestingly, the 19th
century American theatre and its public was a powerful representation of the existing society,
notably, not only within America but also inclusive of the British who were a part of American
theatre world. This is a good example of the expansion of the imagined community beyond just an
idea of the nation. Theatre becomes an art community on its own, which is clear from the argument
of Lawrence W. Levine, who writes: At the beginning of the... Show more content on

Theatre as a public culture , therefore, a public space, begins to transform, initiating the split
between the community s classes. The conflict on the Astor Place demonstrates how public culture
can suddenly shift from being a unifying factor in a society to a matter of and political controversy
class difference. Hence, the imagined community breaks down, partly due to the existing
assumption of unity of theatrical space. This community expands again to those identifying with
high art and popular art , of which Levine says: Theatre no longer functioned as a cultural form that
embodied all classes within a shared public

She would not have suffered pain if she would have gone along with them too; if it hadn t being

than her other family members would have been because she has experienced the pain not her
family members. Tessie has not done any misleading or wrong deeds for which she should be

Juxtaposition In A Modern Proposal
Swift when faced with a humanitarian crisis, a tyrannical English Empire, and a strong divide
between social classes, uses his pent up agitation to develop a piece of satire which both
compels and shocks those who read his work. A Modern Proposal is centered around the idea of
cannibalism. In Swift s reformation of Irish society a new division of laborers would be created
labeled breeders . These breeders would raise infants to the ripe age of one, and then sell them to
the wealthy to be slaughtered, served and possibly made into apparel. Throughout his proposal
Swift uses comic juxtaposition and grotesque elements to further convey his criticism of Ireland.
By comparing the lower class breeders and their children to animals, Swift uses comic
juxtaposition to hone in on the notion that the impoverished people in society have long been
denied the humanity the wealthy pride themselves on. No longer being seen as meaningful,
important human beings, the poor are left begging for the respect that comes with money.
Pregnant woman seen as being mere vessels for produce in his imaginary world, are compared to
cows saying Men would become as fond of their wives during the time of their pregnancy as they
are now of their mares in foal, their cows in calf, their sows when they are ready to Farrow (5). By
linking together items which normally do not go together, Swift is able to divulgue into the
responsibilities and vulnerabilities associated with womanhood. Swift futher s his

Case Study On Cuttlefish

Masters of deception: Male Cuttlefish are coming to Steal Your Girl
Do you think you can keep other males away from your female partner by guarding her 24/7? You
know what? You cannot...Not if you re a malemourning cuttlefish. Biologists from Macquaire
University, Sydney have found out that by abusing their exceptional visual signaling skills male
cuttlefish are able to steal partners of rival males in front of their eyes!
Mourning cuttlefish are small marine animals which are 15cm on average and belong to the group
(Cephalapoda class to be specific) which include squids and octopus and their relatives. Mourning
cuttlefish live on eastern coasts of Australia. These animals like their relatives, are extremely social
and have high cognitive abilities. They are mostly known for their incredible ability to change color
and texture of their skin.
These cuttlefish use their ability to change the color of their skin for various purposes including
camouflage and communication with other cuttlefish and other animals. It was their ability to use
their changing coloration for communicating with their kind which attracted attention ... Show more

They also did some additional observations on captive cuttlefish which, in my opinion, may not be
so reliable because it is known that behavior of animals can change substantially during captivity
due to unrealistic social and physical surrounding of the individuals. What the scientists did during
their observations was they followed a male cuttlefish and took photos of close encounters of the
individual with other individuals. The photos were taken so that both sides the male s body is
visible in the photo. They also recorded the number of individuals within the social interaction

Abstract
Hyperthermia is a cancer treatment wherein the cancerous cells are killed by electromagnetic
heating of malignant tumor tissue. This study is focused on the effect of using a 432 MHz antenna
heating source for hyperthermia treatment of tissue. Temperatures of 42 В°C to 46 В°C are
required to kill the cancer cells while the healthy tissue is unaffected. The Pennes Bio Heat
Equation is used to obtain a numerical solution of the tissue temperature profile. A 1 D analytical
solution required to make quick calculation is derived and compared with the 2 D numerical
solution solved by Finite Difference Method (FDM). Also, the effect of variable tissue properties
in the tissue region of tumor and healthy tissue is determined and the effect of a large blood vessel is
also determined.
INTRODUCTION
Cancer is a malignant disease that can cause death if not treated on time. Hyperthermia is a
treatment in which Electromagnetic (EM) waves are used to heat up the tissue containing the
tumor for therapeutic purposes. The cancerous cells are killed if they are heated in the range of 42

An Analysis of Employee Rights vs. Employer Rights
An Analysis of Employee Rights vs. Employer Rights BSAD 319 Professional Ethics 4/29/2012
When comparing the granted rights of employees versus employers, it does not truly seem that
either party has the advantage. These factors can often vary depending on state laws and
regulations, and it appears when consulting these laws, that there are many loopholes due to the
gray areas that accompany behavioral legal situations. There are many occurrences of foul play,
stereotyping and opinionated biases that seem to have caused and shaped these existing laws. Very
much like the medical field now, it seems that many employers have taken tedious extra precautions
in order to avoid legislation with what may be disgruntled past employees.... Show more content on

This can be interpreted unfairly, due to the fact that many things ingested by the human body
can appear to be harmful on a urine test. This inaccuracy paired with human lab errors in the
analysis stage can lead to problems for an employee, for no legitimate reason. As stated in an
article published by the American Civil Liberties Union, The lab procedure is a second invasion
of privacy. Urinalysis reveals not only the presence of illegal drugs, but also the existence of
many other physical and medical conditions, including genetic predisposition to disease or
pregnancy. In 1988, the Washington, D.C. Police Department admitted it used urine samples
collected for drug tests to screen female employees for pregnancy without their knowledge or
consent. Furthermore, human error in the lab, or the test s failure to distinguish between legal
and illegal substances, can make even a small margin of error add up to a huge potential for false
positive results. (American Civil Liberties Union, 1997.) The disclosure of pregnancy is a very
difficult topic for women in the workplace. It is one of the reasons that women have been unable
to attain the same status of men in a professional setting, and it is still one of the reasons why
women are not making the same salary amounts statistically, as most men. The fact that this
information is available to the employer without permission, is not only a side product of drug

When Bad Things Happen To Good People Analysis
Introduction In the novel, When Bad Things Happen to Good People by Harold. S Kushner the
theme of suffering was explored. Kushner attended Columbia University obtaining a BA and an
MA. He was then ordained a Rabbi in 1960 and lead a very religious life. Kushner s young son
was diagnosed with progeria, which causes his body to age quickly. He died when he was
fourteen and this caused Kushner to question his faith. He decided to write this novel because of
this; wanting to help others deal with their suffering and strengthen their faith. The religious and
self help tone of the novel helped to convey his message very well.
Objective
Kushner begins by discussing simple answers that people have thought of to explain why bad
things happen to good people. Next, he takes a closer look at four main causes as to why people
suffer. First, sometimes there is no reason. The world is random and many things do not follow any
particular order. This means that if someone gets hurt, they may have been in the wrong place at the
wrong time. Kushner explains that God does not create this chaos, but tries to make order out of it.
Second, the laws of nature do not make exceptions for nice people. If a rock is going to fall, it is
going to fall whether someone is under it or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By suffering ourselves, we are able to have a better understanding the suffering of others. Kushner
attributes much of his characteristics as a person to all of the times he has suffered. When
considering his son s suffering and how that affected him he said, I am a more sensitive person, ...
a more sympathetic counselor because of Aaron s life and death than I would ever have been
without it (Kushner 133). If he had not suffered, he would not understand suffering; it is as simple
as that. Having this connection with all of humanity has helped Kushner become not only a better
Rabbi but a better and more merciful

  • 2. Approach to Persuasion Essay example Embracing an individual s point of view by means of reasoning, argument or entreaty is an act of persuasion. An individual is regularly confronted by persuasion throughout their everyday life. It takes place in various situations that are categorized in three sections, the appeal to emotion, the appeal to reason, and the appeal to one s character. Furthermore, this leads to an influential aspect. It is from one s characteristic to be influenced by persuasion, thus, to be overlooked by outside sources. This is not only found as a human speaks, but persuasion is the aim of advertisements, and political candidates who are trying to sway voters to vote for them. Since Ancient times, persuasive techniques have been observed and studied but due... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Persuasion appears various forms. In life, the world often offers and persuades negative and positive examples using ethos, pathos and logo. Many advertisements advertise harmful and others advertise substances and people tend to respond variously towards persuasion. Some believe they are immune to persuasion, yet persuasion can be subtle. How an individual responds to persuasion can depend on a variety of factors. The main factor implies on the audience themselves. In order to persuade, one must analyze the audience. The audience may appear differently; there are supportive audiences whom begin with support, there are uncommitted audiences whom are neutral, there are also indifferent audiences whom need the persuader to grab their attention, and there is also the opposed audience. The opposed audience are the hardest to convince; they are against the persuader from the start. The same techniques of Pathos, Ethos, and Logos apply, but with the use of different extents. Motivation is a necessary method for persuasion. Motivation acts as an incentive for the audience to act or behave in a certain way. This method causes an individual to act the way they act, and do the things they do, moreover, refuse doing the things they do not want to. Motivation acts as a guide in an individual s life. In many scenarios, one s motivation is fear. The fear may be of losing a need, or desire, thus, resulting with an outcome or reward that does not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Life And Role Of Stanislavski s Acting Style In Theatre Stanislavski was born in Russia in 1863, and his birth name was Konstantin Sergeevich Alekseev. He was exposed to the arts from a young age and as a child regularly visited theatres, operas and ballets. During the 1800s in Russia, actors were in a lower social class, so for almost half of Stanislavski s life, he was limited to amateur arts to avoid casting social embarrassment on his family. Stanislavski was the name he used to act without his family s awareness and he eventually became professional when the Moscow Arts Theatre was founded in 1897. The MXAT was effectively the first to ensure many, many hours were put into rehearsals and to specially design all costumes, sound and lighting. This was the beginning of a realistic style within theatre, which was opposed by many creative pioneers. Stanislavski felt no other option than to become independent and set up the First Studio in 1912, moving away from the MXAT to combat opposition. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After being evicted, Stanislavski was desperate and eventually the state allocated him a small house where he could rehearse. During this time, the MXAT also suffered and an acting tour led by Stanislavski was its desperate attempt to gain funds. Some of the MXAT actors found new teaching careers in the West, which spread Stanislavski s ideas. Stanislavski s experimentation away from realism, into yoga and psychology, were ignored by the Soviet government which appointed him as a Soviet Realism model. Stanislavski struggled to accept the new laws on acting and backlash from the press triggered the heart attack which ended his acting career. Stanislavski s manuals and ideas became the curriculum for theatre schools within Russia, but many of his ideas were ignored and his public image was vastly contrasted to his private image. • 4. Persuasive Essay On Euthanasia Euthanasia, a relatively new word, but its contents as old as humanity itself. In other words, it is assisted suicide, deliverance. Death affects all of us, however, in reality, no one talks about it. In the final phase of life, people should have the right to decide if they want to die from the hands of a doctor. Euthanasia is a far quieter alternative of leaving the world than drastic suicidefor incurable diseases and inhuman sufferers. The doctor should be able to comply with a reasoned request of a patient without being sued in the future. To illustrate, 86 percent of public support euthanasia for the terminally ill or on life support ( Euthanasia Statistics ). Euthanasia should be legalized through the whole world because people should be able to decide whether they want to live or die. A person sufferingfrom a serious illness that is getting worse and worse every day and causes that the person has to stay in a hospital bed while having a cruel pain should have a right to euthanasia. Unfortunately, this assisted deathis forbidden in most countries all over the world. However, according to The Economist newspaper in some countries in Europe such as Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg allow assisted suicide ( Over My Dead Body; Assisted Suicide ). At the beginning most people try to fight for their precious life, usually, they are young people who have a lot of strength. However some diseases are stronger, and people do not want to worry so they rather prefer to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. I Am A Professional Engineer It is not easy to become a successful, professional engineer. A professional engineer requires high responsibility, especially problem based solving skills to cope with workplace environment and compete with others. Problem based learning (PBL) is really important to reflect the professional practice of engineers. There have been several definitions of PBL. According to Lizinger, Lattuca, Hadgraft and Newstetter (2011, p.134), PBL is the approach that allows learners to practice finding solutions throughout their academy. Learners in a PBL process have to reflect, identify and learn about the complex problem and the cycle is repeated until learners find a solution that they can do both in writing and presentation. There are some basics of PBL such as decision making, communication, collaboration, self regulation, self motivation and flexibility. These basics are the base for every engineerto become a successful professional practicing engineer. Decision making ability helps engineers to learn deeply from the problems and have ability to analyse and get the detail of the problems before planning to solve them. Deep learners focus on the problem carefully and get all information about it. Lizinger, Lattuca, Hadgraft and Newstetter (2011, p.126) state that the experiences of the effective learning from deep learning leads learners to understand key words and general principle to develop both technic and profession. There are many positive and negative effects which come along with reducing funds in the Humanities departments. Though many individuals might contradict that reducing humanities may be a beneficial act for some, In my opinion it should not be lessened primarily because it can lead to malevolent mishaps. This illustrates that Humanities is an essential part to everyone because it contributes students with a valuable perception and to get a fast career. Lastly, many students will not be able to afford paying for the expenses. In the article it states, Technology executives, researchers and business leaders argue that producing enough trained engineers and scientists is essential to America s economic vitality, national defense and health care, (Cohen 22 ). This shows that with the reduction of humanities there will be more engineers but less scientists. Humanities study can make better scientists because it teaches you how to think in a creative way also in a critical one and to ask questions. These skills are helpful to gain a better understanding and scientists question everything and prove it by experimenting. Reading the great literary and philosophical works and coming to grips with the question of what is living for may become a great luxury that many cannot afford, (Cohen 24). Without being able to afford for it many people can t get the education they should receive. In my opinion if the scholars begin to lose interest in their occupation they will major in anything to achieve their career and grasp a job. To conclude, without Humanities the courses are elongated and students won t be able to achieve a career if they cannot pay for the the expenses. The government forced many families to put their kids into the school. Americans thought if they were taught the religious beliefs of Americans everyday, they would soon believe in Christianity and forget about their old culture. Black Feminist Politics And Praxis Black Feminist Politics and Praxis in Respect to UConn Reads Active Learning Activity Black Feminist Politics and theory grew out of many black women s feelings of dissatisfaction following the civil rights era, and the white female feminist movement throughout the 1960 1970s. During the early conceptualization process of black feminist theory, the women of this new movement, specifically KimberlГ© Crenshaw, came to name the term intersectionality theory. This statement truly grasped a portrait of the politics and thoughts of black feminists. As previously, mentioned, Black Feminist Politics is the intersectional analysis of the multitude of oppressions that black women face. It is not just the experience, for example, of sexism or racism, it is the overlapping prejudices and microagressions that black women face daily. Black Feminist Politics seeks to end these prejudices, discriminations, and microagressions. The Combahee River Collective was a crucial assemblage of individuals who expanded the politics and thought process of black feminists. The Combahee River Collective Statement was a very important document because it set forth the foundations of contemporary black feminist thought and theory. • 13. How To Kill The Dolphins Persuasive Essay A bay in scarlet The scenes when the dolphins get killed is dramatic and in some places like Japan they even pull curtains across the shoreline to hide the terrible killing process from the public . Dolphins are one of the most intelligent animals on the planet and because of their well known kindness they are loved by a huge amount of people. But still they are getting killed in massive amounts in places like Chile, Faroe Island and especially in Japan. We even love them so much that we let them suffer in dolphinariums just so we can get a little amused watching them. Is it correct to kill and torture these harmless and intelligent creatures, for almost no use? Some dolphin species face an uncertain future, especially some dolphin species such as the Amazon River dolphin, the Ganges and Yangtze Riverdolphin, which are seriously endangered. • 14. Arab Dichotomy The dichotomy of historical events, personalities and concepts are central to devising a sense of both triumph and tragedy, varying in perspective for the individuals and groups directly involved. The creation of the state of Israel accommodates this dichotomy, in which the event can simply be recognised as a success for the Jewish people whose religious land was regained, and a calamity for the Arab Palestinians who became displaced refugees as a result. Since the inception of the Israeli nation state in 1948, religious and political difference have played a major role in bringing about the Arab Israeli conflict. The dominance of the Jewish people, driven by religious and cultural ties to the land following their Diaspora, has seen the formation of Israelas a short term social triumph. • 15. Analysis Of Marion Dadds And Susan Hart This paper from Doing Practicioner Research Differently, by Marion Dadds and Susan Hart, explores the way in which a researcher (Joseph Geraci) has entered into the world of several individuals living with autism, and has spent time observing and working with them in order to gain a better understanding of what it is like to live with autism, and the reasons behind why autistic individuals behave in some of the ways that they do. The underpinning philosophical basis for the methodological approaches the research adopts. By definition, an underpinning philosophy means the foundation beliefs/the system on which the research is based around. In the case of Joe Geraci s research, his main methods of data collection were those of observation and conversation. In research, observations can either be overt or disclosed (that is, the participants know they are being studied) or covert/undisclosed (where the true identity of the researcher is kept secret from the group, a deception) In general, observations are in fact a relatively cheap method of data collection to carry out, and the researcher needs few resources. However, what they are is very time consuming for the researcher. The Squire s focus is fixated on his own entertainment instead of this profession, displaying how he is not as dedicated to his work compared to his father. The ha refers to the hot energy of sun while the tha refers to the cooling energy of the moon (Iyengar, 2012; Hutton, 2014). In Hatha yoga, Desikachar suggests that nadi are located throughout the body. Prana, also referred to as infinite energy, flows within these nadi or channels. Desikachar suggests that three nadi spiral around the spinal column. The ida nadi moves through the left nostril and pingala nadi enters the right nostril. Desikachar also states that the nadi meet at six points in the body referred to as chakras. Running along the vertical line of the spine, one chakrais located at the center of the eyebrows. The second chakra is at the throat and the third is at the center of the chest and just above the heart. The fourth chakra is present at the navel and the fifth at the base of the trunk. Nicknamed Satchmo , Pops , and Ambassador Satch , Armstrong could do it all, he sang, occasionally acted, composed music, but was most famous for his cornet and trumpet playing. Although Armstrong is well known for his amazing trumpet play, he also influenced the direction that jazzmusic during his time was headed. Over the course of this paper I will concisely go over his early life, and focus more on his music career. On August 4, 1901, Louis Armstrong was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, to William Armstrong and Mary Mayann Albert. His youth was spent in poverty, in a poor neighborhood nicknamed the battlefield . Angel: Greetings Prophet! The Great Work Begins: The Messenger has arrived. Prior: Go Away. (Kushner, 149) Throughout Part Two of Tony Kushner s play Angels in America, Prior the Prophet envisions progress in the world after the Angel confronts him at the end of Part One. The same relation can be found in Reagan s inaugural address from 1981, where he speaks of how unique we really are, and we are a united people pledged to maintaining a political system which guarantees individual liberty to a greater degree than any other (Reagan). He speaks of a united people, but the emphasis remains on the individual liberty and self rule he later mentions in the same address. This representation of Republic individualism is not only visible in Joe and Roy as discussed by Corby (19 20), but can also be found in reference to the Angel. On multiple occasions the Angel, when appearing to Prior, lays emphasis on herself by his repetition of I. Another way of accentuating the individual is in his praise of the Prophet, Prior. Both can be seen in the following passage when the Angel presents herself to Prior for the first time: I I I I Am the Bird Of America, the Bald Eagle, Continental Principality, LUMEN PHOSPHOR FLUOR CANDLE! I unfold my leaves, Bright steel, In salutation open sharp before you: PRIOR WALTER Long descended, well prepared (Kushner, 170) I I I I lays focus on this individual entity, representing herself as the Bird of America, clearly connecting it in a similar way Reagan did in his address. • 37. Workplace Discrimination And Its Effects On Social... Workplace discrimination is still prevalent and could have disastrous effects on social cohesion and political stability if it continues unchecked. While the most blatant forms of discrimination at work may have faded, many remain a persistent and daily part of the workplace, or are taking on more subtle forms. Every day, around the world, discriminationat work is an unfortunate reality for hundreds of millions of people. Women are by far the largest discriminated group, with the pay gap between the sexes still significant in most countries. Racial discrimination also persists, though older theories of the purported superiority of one racial or ethnic group over another have been replaced by allegations that foreign and incompatible cultures may have disruptive effects on the integrity of national identities. New forms of discrimination based on disability, HIV/AIDS, age or sexual orientation have now become cause for growing concern. Inequalities within discriminated groups are widening. Affirmative action policies, for example, helped create a new middle class of formerly discriminated persons in some countries. A few rise to the top of the social ladder, while most remain among the low paid and socially excluded. Discrimination often traps people in low paid, informal economy jobs. The discriminated are often stuck in the worst jobs, and denied benefits, social protection, training, capital, land or credit. Women are more likely than men to be engaged in these more ... To understand what excellent customer care and the impact of both positive and negative experiences can have on a customer, we must firstly understand what a customer is and secondly what Customer Care is. A customer can either be an individual or a business, on a daily basis we interact with customers both internally and externally. Each customer will have a unique set of requirements and needs. To enable C.C.C to embrace this concept there needs to be a radical change in the management style. Obstacles which will stand in the way of customer care would be poor communication, lack of commitment from management, proper staff training and lack of resources. The most appropriate style of management would be no.3 the Flat organisation. This will remove some of the barriers between external and internal customers. Question 4 overlaps with no.3, to remove some of the decision making levels of management means that that front line staff need to have the ability and responsibility to make decisions and respond to customer complaints in a manner which does not need to be authorised by the high level management. An example of this could be charges placed on a customer s account for their account going overdrawn due to an oversight. The front line staff can be given the authority to on individual cases to refund those charges if they felt that it was more an oversight that intentionally abusing the overdraft facility. In doing this it gives both the customer satisfaction and also the staff in that they are making a difference helping C.C.C in attaining targets. This onslaught of financial difficulties, which had been created largely by the Gulf War and the Canadian recession, increased Air Canada s losses increased at worrisome rates. Then, after suffering losses upwards of $218 million in 1991, the Board of Directors recognized the need for a corporate overhaul and consequently appointed Hollis Harris as the Chief Executive Officer the following year. Harris, a 37 year veteran in the highly competitive American airlineindustry, was given the challenging task of returning the struggling airline to profitability. When he was appointed, many Canadians were outraged that an American would lead a privatized Canadian company and feared this decision to be a step towards the impending Americanization of the Canadian culture. Others speculated that Harris was appointed for the sole purpose of training and mentoring Air Canada s future leader . However, these individuals were all proven wrong when Harris transformed the reeling airline into a leading competitor in the global airline industry. Overview: The action of light is an extraordinary phenomenon. Light, for example, the one emitting from a light bulb, is a form of wave motions that consist of electric and magnetic fields that vibrate at right angles to the direction of travel of a light beam. The electric field that is associated with the light wave oscillates in random directions, but is always in a right angle to the light propagation direction. These breeders would raise infants to the ripe age of one, and then sell them to the wealthy to be slaughtered, served and possibly made into apparel. Kushner attended Columbia University obtaining a BA and an MA. He was then ordained a Rabbi in 1960 and lead a very religious life. Kushner s young son was diagnosed with progeria, which causes his body to age quickly. He died when he was fourteen and this caused Kushner to question his faith. The religious and self help tone of the novel helped to convey his message very well. Objective Kushner begins by discussing simple answers that people have thought of to explain why bad things happen to good people. Next, he takes a closer look at four main causes as to why people suffer. First, sometimes there is no reason. The world is random and many things do not follow any particular order. This means that if someone gets hurt, they may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Kushner explains that God does not create this chaos, but tries to make order out of it.
