This document provides instructions for configuring integration between Clearswift SECURE ICAP Gateway and F5 BIG-IP LTM. It describes configuring the Clearswift gateway to accept connections from BIG-IP LTM and define the ICAP services. It also describes configuring BIG-IP LTM to create profiles, pools, and virtual servers to forward HTTP requests and responses to the Clearswift gateway for inspection and adaptation before sending traffic to backend web servers. The configuration includes creating ICAP, OneConnect, request/response adaptation, and HTTP profiles on BIG-IP LTM and defining the Clearswift gateway pool. Internal virtual servers are configured to redirect traffic to the gateway, and a sample

Building a scalable microservice architecture with envoy, kubernetes and istioSAMIR BEHARA
Talk from O'Reilly Software Architecture Conference San Jose 2019
Microservices and containers have taken the software industry by storm. Transitioning from a monolith to microservices enables you to deploy your application more frequently, independently, and reliably. However, microservice architecture has its own challenges, and it has to deal with the same problems encountered while designing distributed systems.
Enter service mesh technology to the rescue. A service mesh reduces the complexity associated with microservices and provides functionality like load balancing, service discovery, traffic management, circuit breaking, telemetry, fault injection, and more. Istio is one of the best implementations of a service mesh at this point, while Kubernetes provides a platform for running microservices and automating deployment of containerized applications.
Join Samir Behara to go beyond the buzz and understand microservices and service mesh technologies.
SP Virtual Managed Services (VMS) for Intelligent WAN (IWAN)Cisco Canada
Many organizations anticipate significant growth in WAN bandwidth and Public Cloud usage. Leveraging the Internet to provide extra WAN bandwidth and to offload Public Cloud traffic is compelling, however network reliability, application performance and security are the primary roadblocks. Cisco IWAN transport solution is the most full featured architecture to support the Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) requirements that are emerging in standards bodies like the Open Networking User Group (ONUG) to address these issues. Many enterprises are looking for the benefits these technologies deliver, but without the costs associated with owning and operating those technologies. Here is where VMS for IWAN meets market need. Cisco VMS is a full featured management platform for both virtual and physical devices. This session will cover a full description of the VMS platform and how it can be used to deliver exceptional customer experience when supporting a managed offering of IWAN. The roles of Customer and Resource Facing Services will be covered, along with integration between the IWAN service and SP operations. This session will also cover the topic of how Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) can be placed optimally in the network from the CPE to SP datacenter, along with a demo of the end user and operator experience.

A New Approach to Continuous Monitoring in the Cloud: Migrate to AWS with NET...Amazon Web Services
The allure of the cloud is compelling and offers greater agility, elasticity, and reduced capex. Businesses seek to reap these benefits by migrating to AWS, all while enforcing corporate governance and security policies to minimize risk. To accomplish this objective, businesses must continuously monitor the performance of complex applications, which is not practical with point solutions, such as bytecode instrumentation. In this session, learn how NETSCOUT’s smart data platform enables continuous monitoring in hybrid cloud environments to minimize risk and control costs. Hear real-life examples of how businesses optimized their AWS migration, gaining visibility and deep insights into both the physical and virtual worlds, to maintain the continuity and security of the services throughout the migration process. This session is brought to you by AWS partner, NETSCOUT Systems.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
