Learning aims: 

During this lesson, learners will be able to…
- Recognize their own emotions
- Identity what aspects of our faces change when we have a specific
emotion
- Develop intrapersonal skills by communicating their feelings and
understand the peer’s feelings.
Learning focus:

- Vocabulary: happy, sad, angry.
- Identify our different emotions.

Integration of skills: 

The teacher will work with visual materials such as images in order to
teach the new vocabulary. Moreover, the ‘’ if you happy and you know
it’ song will be used in order to make the class more dynamic and fun
for the students. And, make use of multimodality.
Multiple intelligences:

- Linguistic intelligence. They will listen to the teacher instructions,
and they will answer when the teacher ask something.
- Intrapersonal intelligence. They will analyze their own faces in
order to see what change when we are sad, for instance.
- Bodily kinesthetic intelligence. With the ‘’if your happy and you
know it song’’ some instructions are made. ‘’Clap your hands’’… They
will imitate the teacher movements.
- Musical intelligence. They will listen to a song, and even though they
probably know it on their mother tongue, the lyrics will be different
and they will adapt.

Materials and resources:
These images will be used in order to introduce the story about
Tom.
The next instrumental will be used, but the teacher will sing the
song with different lyrics in order to work specifically with the
three emotions:

I made up a short story to give them context. The story is about
the Emoji named Tomas!
Tomas is very happy because he is going to play with his
friends.
When he asks his mum for permission, she says ‘’No, because
you have misbehave lately, you are grounded’’
Tom gets very angry at first. He thought his mum would have
let him go out!
Later, Tomas gets sad because he is very bored in his house.
Possible contingencies:
- Some of them will not understand everything the teacher
say in English.
- Children talking at the same time the teacher is trying to
explain to tell the short story.
- Children probably know the song already in Spanish, so,
learn the new lyrics will be the only problem, but if we do it
a couple of times, it will be ok.
Classroom management strategies:
- Explain what we will be doing very clearly.
- Since our students are not used to the language, the teacher will
mimes and acting in order to make them understand.
(scaffolding)
Assessment: collecting information and reporting your findings
- Asking questions throughout the class and at the end, in order to
see if they learnt the vocabulary
- Observe how they work.
- Give them feedback.
Lesson stages:
Lead-in & Presentation
I will begin the class by welcoming them to the class, wait for them to
get ready and ready to start! I will ask them how they feel today and
telling them how I feel and why: Today I am very happy because it is
Friday! And we are going to have a fun class!
Development of the sequence of activities
I will continue by telling: Ok now, we have to close our mouths with a
zipper and turn up the volume of our ears because we are going to
listen a story about a emoji called Tomas!
This is Tomas (while showing them the happy emoji) Tomas is very
happy because he is going to go out to play with his friends!
I will repeat it in Spanish to make sure they get the story.
But, When he asks his mum for permission, she says ‘’No,
because you have misbehave lately, you are grounded’’ (I will
show the angry face) Tom gets very angry at first. He thought
his mum would have let him go out!
I will also ask them If they get angry when they are not allowed to
go out or play. This will help to engage with them and make use of
the vocabulary.
Later, Tomas gets sad because he is very bored in his house. ( I
will show the sad face)
After telling the story, I will try to engage a conversation with
them. Asking questions such as: What makes you happy? I am
happy when I play with my dog!
To continue, I will ask them to stand up because we are going to sing a
song! I will sing the song mentioned above for the first time and then
we are going to sing it together a couple of times in order to make the
class more dynamic. – This section should not last more than 10
minutes
To finish, I will say that I am sad because it is our last class! But, I am
happy because all of them are very sweet and nice students.
Closure
Since it is our last class, I will say goodbye to them and give them a little
chocolate to each one of the students.

LENGUAS VIVAS BARILOCHE PRÁCTICA DOCENTE I Alumno residente: Fernanda Catalán Soto Institución Educativa: Jardín Rayitos de Esperanza Dirección: Chaneton 640, Zapala, Neuquén Cantidad de alumnos: 18 Edad: 3 years old Unidad Temática: ‘’My emotions’’ Clase Nº: 3 Fecha: 8 Noviembre 2019 Hora: 15:30 – 16:00 Duración de la clase: 30 min Fecha de entrega de la planificación: 5 Noviembre    Learning aims:   During this lesson, learners will be able to… - Recognize their own emotions - Identity what aspects of our faces change when we have a specific emotion - Develop intrapersonal skills by communicating their feelings and understand the peer’s feelings. Learning focus:  - Vocabulary: happy, sad, angry. - Identify our different emotions.  Integration of skills:   The teacher will work with visual materials such as images in order to teach the new vocabulary. Moreover, the ‘’ if you happy and you know it’ song will be used in order to make the class more dynamic and fun for the students. And, make use of multimodality.
  • 2. Multiple intelligences:  - Linguistic intelligence. They will listen to the teacher instructions, and they will answer when the teacher ask something. - Intrapersonal intelligence. They will analyze their own faces in order to see what change when we are sad, for instance. - Bodily kinesthetic intelligence. With the ‘’if your happy and you know it song’’ some instructions are made. ‘’Clap your hands’’… They will imitate the teacher movements. - Musical intelligence. They will listen to a song, and even though they probably know it on their mother tongue, the lyrics will be different and they will adapt.  Materials and resources: These images will be used in order to introduce the story about Tom.   • 3. I made up a short story to give them context. The story is about the Emoji named Tomas! Tomas is very happy because he is going to play with his friends. When he asks his mum for permission, she says ‘’No, because you have misbehave lately, you are grounded’’ Tom gets very angry at first. He thought his mum would have let him go out! Later, Tomas gets sad because he is very bored in his house. Possible contingencies: - Some of them will not understand everything the teacher say in English. - Children talking at the same time the teacher is trying to explain to tell the short story. - Children probably know the song already in Spanish, so, learn the new lyrics will be the only problem, but if we do it a couple of times, it will be ok. Classroom management strategies: - Explain what we will be doing very clearly. - Since our students are not used to the language, the teacher will mimes and acting in order to make them understand. (scaffolding) Assessment: collecting information and reporting your findings - Asking questions throughout the class and at the end, in order to see if they learnt the vocabulary - Observe how they work. - Give them feedback. Lesson stages:
  • 4. Lead-in & Presentation I will begin the class by welcoming them to the class, wait for them to get ready and ready to start! I will ask them how they feel today and telling them how I feel and why: Today I am very happy because it is Friday! And we are going to have a fun class! Development of the sequence of activities I will continue by telling: Ok now, we have to close our mouths with a zipper and turn up the volume of our ears because we are going to listen a story about a emoji called Tomas! This is Tomas (while showing them the happy emoji) Tomas is very happy because he is going to go out to play with his friends! I will repeat it in Spanish to make sure they get the story. But, When he asks his mum for permission, she says ‘’No, because you have misbehave lately, you are grounded’’ (I will show the angry face) Tom gets very angry at first. He thought his mum would have let him go out! I will also ask them If they get angry when they are not allowed to go out or play. This will help to engage with them and make use of the vocabulary. Later, Tomas gets sad because he is very bored in his house. ( I will show the sad face) After telling the story, I will try to engage a conversation with them. Asking questions such as: What makes you happy? I am happy when I play with my dog! To continue, I will ask them to stand up because we are going to sing a song! I will sing the song mentioned above for the first time and then we are going to sing it together a couple of times in order to make the class more dynamic. – This section should not last more than 10 minutes To finish, I will say that I am sad because it is our last class! But, I am happy because all of them are very sweet and nice students. Closure
  • 5. Since it is our last class, I will say goodbye to them and give them a little chocolate to each one of the students.
