Objective:-
The subject of civic responsibility aims at
educating the citizens on their own duties. Most
citizens are quick to push responsibilities to the
government and not see their own role.
It is expected that you will start taking
responsibility and play your part in nation building.
What is Civic Responsibility?
It is the encouragement of the
general public to become involved in the political
process and the issues that affect them.
What is Civic Responsibility?
It is the community coming
together to be a collective source of change,
political and non-political.
What is Civic Responsibility?
Civic engagement can also
be summarized as a means of working together to
make a difference in the civil life of our
communities and developing the combination of
skills, knowledge, values, and motivation in order
to make that difference.
My thought:-
I think that ultimately, civic responsibility
will be summed up as your cooperation with the
government and the people around you in other to
create a better environment for yourself and others.
Examples of Civic Responsibilities:-
Voting.
Political & other informative campaigns.
Serving.
Signing a petition.
Filing and paying taxes.
Community Service.
Picking up litter or not littering the street.
Being respectful towards others.
Watching out for others.
Combined security efforts.
Helping others.
Our Categories of responsibilities:-
Compulsory:-
There are some Civic
Responsibilities that have been made compulsory
by the law and this varies from one country to
another.
Voluntary:-
We also have Civic Responsibilities
that are not necessarily in the law but is expected
of every citizen or resident of an area.
Compulsory Civic Responsibilities:
Obey the Laws of the land.
Pay Taxes.
Voting is compulsory in some nations.
Public Service /Corporate Social Responsibilities.
It is compulsory in some nations to help accident
victims.
Voluntary Civic Responsibilities:-
Getting involved with community development.
Volunteering for non profit.
Donating to charitable initiatives.
Offer your skills to the neighbourhood.
Transfer knowledge.
Respect other people’s rights.
Purpose of Civic Responsibilities:-
Citizens have a role towards nation building.
Government cannot fix everything.
We are closer to ourselves than the government.
Our civic responsibilities make living easier in
our communities.

Neighborhood.
Town or city.
Schools.
Churches & Mosques.

Abroad – As national brand ambassadors.
