The slides introduce the Oracle Database Apppliance (ODA) and discusses how you can use it to easily deploy both databases and WebLogic Server. Three case studies are covered and the presentation wraps up considering when the ODA might be most suitable for your organisation.
This latest Winter 2014 version includes ODA 12c updates (database and WebLogic).
This document summarizes the results of benchmark tests performed on Amazon RDS instances with varying configurations. The tests measured MySQL database performance using mysqlslap under different levels of concurrency and across small, large, xlarge, 2xlarge, and 4xlarge EC2 instance types with a standardized 100GB EBS volume. The results show that increasing the instance type size improves database performance more significantly than increasing the EBS volume size. Larger instances are less impacted by contention on shared hardware resources.
