What does it mean to “Cite your sources”? It means
 telling people where you got your information. Just as
 you list books and encyclopedias in your bibliography,
 you must also include the sources of information you got
 from the Internet.

Why do you need to cite sources? Citing your sources
 allows others to find the same information you found.

What information do you need to cite an
 Internet source which you use in your
 project?

 The name of the site and the author (Who made the
  website? A company? An organization? An individual?)
 The day you found the information
 The web address or URL
 The copyright date for the website (usually found at the
  bottom of the homepage)

Your bibliographic entry for an Internet source should
  include whichever parts are available in the order listed
  below. Let’s walk through an example. Look at the
  following website on Vasco da Gama.

   Author – No specific author is listed
   Title of the Article– Vasco da Gama
   Title of the Page -- Explorers of the Millennium
   Title of the Website -- ThinkQuest
   Web Address -- http://library.thinkquest.org/4034/dagama.html
   Copyright Date – 1998 (found by clicking on “About this Site”)
   Date Found -- March 11, 2008

  your bibliography. Once you have the
  information you need, you can use a website like
  Son of Citation Machine to help you create your
  entry.
