Live Streaming is a great way to engage with remote employees with live
video feed in events such as townhalls, brown bags and all hands.
CircleHD’s live streaming feature is the easiest way to broadcast to your
internal employees. And available as standalone or embedded in Events

3. Prerequisite
1. 2 Modern PCs or Macs (Minimum 2.4ghz Quad CPU and 8Gb RAM)
2. Google Chrome 40+, Mozilla Firefox 30+ or Microsoft Edge
3. High speed and reliable internet connectivity (10mbps upload
recommended)
a. Wired connection preferred for better reliability
4. High definition webcam 720p+ or Professional camera
5. RTMP Broadcasting software such as OBS or Adobe Flash Media Live
Encoder. Download from https://obsproject.com/

4. Step 1: Create an event
If already created an event you may skip this step
Click +Event button from the events page. If you don’t see the button, you may not
have permission to create the event. Please ask an administrator or ask us for more help.

5. Enable Live Stream on Event
Click Edit from the events host page to show
editing controls. Turn on the Live Streaming
option.

6. Before broadcast
When livestreaming is
enabled it will display
countdown timer on the
events page. As shown on
the screenshot on the left.
Click on Broadcast button to
get your RTMP Server URL
and Stream Key.This is unique to
each event and should be treated as password.

7. Prepare your Broadcast system
Make sure OBS or other broadcasting
software of your choice is installed and
running. This machine should be
dedicated to broadcasting only since it
is a resource intensive software.
You may also set up multiple scenes if you
would like to switch between multiple views
and camera if desired.
Please read your broadcasting software's documentation
to learn more.

8. Configure broadcasting software
This step assumes you are using OBS
Click Settings, Select Output from the
settings screen
Adjust video and audio bitrate to
1500 & 128 respectively
If you would like to record the event, make sure you
have enough storage space available

9. Configure broadcasting endpoints
From the settings window, select
Stream options.
Specify the the stream type as
Custom Streaming server
Copy Paste the RTMP Server
URL to the URL field and the
Stream key. And Click OK to
close the settings UI
The stream key is case sensitive and does not allow
whitespace.

10. Start Live Streaming
When you are ready, Click Start
from the Broadcast dialog on Event
host page.

11. Monitor streaming.
At this stage the video will
refresh the status to show as
OFFLINE since we haven’t
started the video streaming yet.

12. Start the Live Video Streaming
Click Start Streaming to Go Live. After
a brief delay the Video will refresh to
show LIVE. To record the video locally,
also click Start Recording.

13. Troubleshooting
If you get message like this,
Make sure the video
broadcast was started from
CircleHD Event Host page and
Stop button is displayed
when you click broadcast.
Also make sure there is no
extra whitespace in the
Stream key.

14. Stop Streaming
To stop streaming Click Stop Streaming on the OBS
or Stop button from CircleHD event broadcast
page.

15. Tips
Make sure CPU Usage is below
50%
And no dropped frames. If
frames are dropped, your
system may not have a great
internet connection. And your
viewer experience will degrade.
You can lower the video bitrate
to a lower value.

16. Tips
Do not run broadcaster and viewer on the same computer. This causes
audio echo and drains network and CPU.

17. Restart a broadcast
To restart a broadcast, you must first turn broadcast ON from CircleHD
