Wunan is an indigenous community organization in East Kimberly, Australia that works to help Aboriginal people succeed through opportunities in ability, education, employment, and changing attitudes and values. The region has a population of around 15,000 people, 40% of whom are indigenous. Indigenous people in the region have lower life expectancy, educational attainment, and employment rates than non-indigenous people. Wunan uses strategies in education, employment, accommodation, welfare reform, and changing attitudes to improve conditions for indigenous people, and relies heavily on technology and partnerships like with DonorTec to support these strategies across its three offices separated by 400km.

3. Our Region The East Kimberly region covers an area of 236,246 square kilometres – roughly the size of the United Kingdom. Wunan is situated in the North East border of the Kimberly Region, Approx 3500 KM North East of Perth the Capital city of Western Australia. Our Strategy : Accommodation Your Contribution : Wunan’s technological capabilities was one of the key factors in successfully building a multi million dollar workers accommodation facility in Halls creek, approximately 400 KM away from our main office. We have 03 Different offices in 02 locations (Kununurra & Halls Creek) approx 400KM apart, and we have been able to operate as one unit ONLY because of our reliable communication systems mostly facilitated by DonorTec and technology donors on the programme.
