Beijing: In an effortto tighten control over all aspects of the media, Chinese authorities have proposed banning private investment in news organizations. According to the proposedguidelines,privately owned corporations would be barred from participating in media companies,including establishing or maintaining news operations or republishing news created by foreign channels, according to the American broadcasterVoice of America(VOA).
